Sophie did great work on my hair, which has only been fully natural for about 4 months. She showed me the products she was using and worked steadily. From start to finish, it took about 2.5 hours. I recommend Sophie for quality work, especially if you need a quick response and even a same-day appointment. It was a little confusing finding the shop at first since I'm not familiar with the area, but Sophie walked me through how to find the location on the phone and once I finally arrived a few minutes later, we were able to get started on the braiding quickly. I expressed that I don't like my braids too tight and for her to stay away from my edges and she did everything I asked. I brought in photos of the color I wanted, the approximate length, and a verbal description of what I was looking for in a style. I was worried it would not come out well because I've had really bad experiences with getting my hair cut (see previous review of Fringe), but this place went above and beyond. I got the exact cut I wanted and the color is spot-on. Apparently this salon is pretty new (only open for a few months). But if you're considering coming here - do it. You won't regret it. Isis spent A LOT of time on my cut and color (almost 3.5 hours) and it only cost $85!! Amazing. Even with the $20 tip, that's still significantly less than most places in D.C. would charge. She was thorough, very nice, and continually asked me if I was okay (is the water too warm or cold when shampooing? How long would you like the side-sweep? Do you want some water?). It's rare to find this level of professionalism, courtesy, and talent with such a reasonable price tag. Especially in the D.C. area. I needed a stylish, yet professional cut with a rich and vibrant color. I got it. I'm so ecstatic with this haircut. It's gorgeous. I will definitely be coming back.

What should have been a simple takedown, wash, and closure install turned into an all-day ordeal that completely derailed my Saturday. Looking back, I wish I had read the lower-rated reviews before booking. It's clear that closure installs are not this salon's strength, If I was to view the lowest reviews they mention the same issue. During my entire eight-hour visit, I wasn't offered water or food, and by the time the bundles were being sewn in, the work felt rushed and lacking care. The closure was barely customized, just washed and trimmed. There was no color or makeup applied to help it blend naturally. I asked for a small leave-out to cover the lace and weft, yet the result was one of the worst installs I've ever received. When the final reveal came, I could literally see the lace lifting. It felt like a slap in the face after such a long day. They offered 50% off, but it still feels like a waste of time and money, especially since I now have to find another stylist to fix it. This experience left me extremely disappointed and questioning the consistency of their service. I genuinely don't understand how this can be the same salon the Washington Commanders chose to represent their brand. After posting my review on Google, the salon responded with an apology and blamed a scheduling mix-up which is an explanation that doesn't address the quality issues or lack of professionalism. At this point, a full refund would have been more appropriate, as I clearly stated I wouldn't be returning. The money I paid for such poor service could have gone to a salon that values its clients, regardless of internal scheduling errors. Below is their display of service. Showed up for my appointment and the salon was dead empty (1st red flag) with their discount on papers plastered everywhere (2nd red flag). Had to wait 10 minutes as they got my hairstylist who was doing who knows what in her car....(3rd red flag). I asked for a simple "modern mullet" hairstyle similar to what I nornally had with just the sides shaved and top and back trimmed. My hairstylist then proceeds to shave my sides almost all the way to the top, so I resemble "Cillian Murphy" from Peaky Blinders. I get it caters to a female clientale more, but really....? Turns out the 20% discount ended up not even mattering. The total cost was $40, but yet I had to pay $36...(20% of 40 is $32). Still, I chalked it up to just a bad haircut at a shady place and I could move on. Yet, turns out AGAIN, my debit card info was stolen from here, resulting in multiple DoorDash orders totaling over $500. So I beg anyone, avoid going to this place or you definitely will be paying for more than just a terrible haircut.
