This was my 3rd child and yet the stress and anxiety that comes over and impending labor and delivery was still there but she helped me talk through the process and talk through what I liked and disliked about my previous births and what I wanted most for this upcoming birth. She had really good questions to help me think and she really helped me go through all of the details of what I hoped for with my birth plan and so she helped me feel more calm than I would have been and it was so so incredibly helpful. When the day of the actual labor came she came in and her presence was so calm and uplifting and excited that I couldn't help but feel more excited and calm myself. As the labor progressed she had really good tips on helping me work through the pain to try to achieve the type of birth that I wanted and she was able to I direct my husband as well to be able to help. I would definitely go with Katrina again because she was just so helpful and kind and happy about everything that I was going through. She had good advice for recovery as well, and was prompt in delivering the encapsulated placenta pills, which she did a great job with! Anyways, I love Katrina! From our first phone call to our 6 week postpartum check-up the entire team was caring and attentive and amazingly gracious given the obvious drama that comes with pregnancy. They are truly called to a beautiful service and their bedside manner and humanity with their mamas in unmatched; certainly not something that I believe one could find in a stuffy hospital setting. Because of the women at Sacred Birth we were able to welcome our beautiful baby boy safely and peacefully into the world in the comfort of our own home. I am high strung and a bit of a stress bucket and was especially through my pregnancy but the women with Sacred Birth went out of their way to bring me back down to earth when I needed, supported me every step of the way and truly saw me as another human being and mama to be and not just a patient on a flip chart. They didn't rush our labor at all and took great care to check on our baby boy after every push. We got a beautiful tour of the placenta and plenty of time for the rest of the blood from it to finish loading our baby boy with all of the iron and oxygen that he needed. No quick clamping and cutting with these ladies! I also love how involved my husband was able to be! He was at nearly every appointment and they included him in all of our discussions and answered all of the questions that he posed to them. They suggested reading material which we both benefited from tremendously and they really empowered us to be a birthing team in our own unique and intuitive way which we are now able to carry through into our parenting. I truly miss the entire team and honestly wish I was still able to see them every couple of weeks! I truly cannot say enough about this incredible team and if we end up having another little member of the family they will be the first call we make.

I was hospitalized for a night and without my consent, Candy came into my house and took my newborn baby into my bedroom and had the door closed without my permission that whole night. My mother in law was there and she didn't even allow her to carry her own grandson. She dismissed her and treated her like a servant, told her to make her coffee. Thank God my brother came and took over. Candy try to take control of my household and was instrusive. She slept in my bedroom invading my privacy. God forbid she did something to my son. I've attended her pre-natal yoga class twice a week for 7 months of my pregnancy, and only missed 3 classes. She is an amazing yoga instructor for pregnant women. I also had two individual sessions with her close to my due date which made big differences in my body. The morning after our session, my belly dropped significantly, which was the goal. As far as labor, she was up with us for almost 50 hours, helping us to keep positive through the contractions, trekking the halls of the hospital with me, and sacrificing her own sleep for even a few minutes of mine and my husband's. This, along with her bi-weekly prenatal yoga class throughout my pregnancy, has made a world of difference in my connection to our birthing journey. We will always have a special place in our hearts for this amazing friend and doula. Overall, I highly recommend her services, and will continue to see her for post-natal yoga.

I have had the pleasure of working with her…read morethroughout my pregnancy in her prenatal classes which are a wonderful balance of physical flow designed to nourish the pregnant woman's body, and educate/empower mothers-to-be mentally and spiritually as they prepare their bodies for birth and motherhood. Adriana has a wealth of information on a wide range of areas concerning prenatal, postpartum, fertility, etc. I had a terrible pain in my SI joint and thought "this is just a side effect of pregnancy" but after seeing Adriana just a couple of times for osteopathic therapy, my SI joint is comfortable again and I am walking 2 to 3 miles daily, as well as practicing yoga and functioning in daily life at full term. She was also able to ward off carpal tunnel which was starting to develop in my wrists by targeting the area immediately, I am amazed at what she is able to do! Never did I think at 39 weeks pregnant I would answer "I feel great!" and truly mean it, when someone asks. Adriana is incredible in so many areas and I could not recommend her enough.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Dr. Despres delivered my first two children in Winter Park,…read moreFlorida back in 2009 and 2010. Immediately following the birth of my second child, he proceeded to sew me up (vaginally) after the epidural had worn off and I was VERY vocal about it, telling him I could feel everything at that point. The nurse quickly offered to grab some local anesthetic but he said something to the effect of, "no, this will be quick and I'll be done by then." The nurse later came to apologize to me for his flippant behavior. It was obvious she felt bad. Then, at my first follow-up after this incident, he casually mentioned how weird it was that my epidural had worn off, but he absolutely failed to apologize or admit any wrongdoing (for legal reasons, obviously). Also, he had horrible bedside manner. The fact that after all these years, hearing about or reading any other woman's birth story brings this up for me is very telling as to how much trauma it caused me. After a quick search I noticed it appears he's still practicing, though I don't know where. My experience with him took place at Winter Park Memorial Hospital.

As a first time mom I was so nervous and stressed out by this! Tara was able to offer a virtual breastfeeding education class that even my husband enjoyed. It was such a great feeling to have some baseline knowledge going into motherhood... especially because I have ZERO recollection of my inpatient breastfeeding education (thanks a lot newborn fog ). I'd also highly recommend a postpartum doula visit to any new mom, first time or seasoned! Not only was I able to shower, read a book, and nap- but I also got to learn some of Tara's baby whisperer tips and tricks. I will definitely be recommending Tara to any new moms in my life!
