Good selection of art supplies. I am not an artist, but I was really impressed with all materials. I am into calligraphy and was kind of shocked by them only having a few pens. I am also on the hunt for .15, .25, .35 pens, but they did not have these either. I love erasers that look like things from when I was in Japan. They have a great selection of erasers that look like pickle, ramen, eggs, and a few others. I really enjoyed walking around and see all this store offers. read more

Blick is the go to art store in Cleveland for art students and artists alike. They have a ton of option in store but if they don't have what you need in store, you'll probably find what your looking for online. I'm pretty sure you can order online for in store pickup, also. I've been to Blick multiple times while I. Cleveland and in need of supplies from acrylics to paint brushes to canvas. Most recently, I was in need of a way to package and mail a canvas and still have it be protected. I'm no professional by any means so I wasn't hip to how most artist package their work. However, though Blick did not have many helpful options for my mailing quest, the sales associates gave me some great, cheap options for how to create my own box and what materials to use. What the associates didn't tell me, YouTube filled in quite nicely. I know I'll be back when in Cleveland again. read more

I wish I could be leaving a better review, but my first (and probably last) trip to this location was a disappointment. I'd initially put together an order through their site, but after seeing it advertised (both on the site and through third party reviews) that the company offered price-matching, I opted to drive an hour out to the shop so I could paint tonight. I'm an avid painter and need supplies regularly, and had hoped this would be a good location for a bi-monthly restock trip, rather than stick to my usual boring habit of just buying through Blick online. The staff seemed friendly initially, asked if I needed help etc, I explained my online shopping list and asked, again, if they price matched. The guy helping assured me they did, and mentioned something about them having to factor in "the shipping cost" to the total (which is bizarre given that I'm standing here buying it and nothing is being shipped, but whatever, according to the site my "shipping cost" was $9.78, or free with a code, something I could deal with). So cool, spent another hour gathering up my stuff again, all is well. It was a little weird that on several occasions employees would peek around the aisles and stare like they thought I was planning to pocket a $4 paintbrush or something, but whatever. That's retail. When I go to check out, the General Manager is running the register and the guy who helped me is with him. I mentioned again that I have price matches through the site and had already discussed some of them with the employee. The GM says that's fine, and mentions that their software 'auto-matches' the site and chooses the lower value, so there's no need to pull anything up on my phone. Fair enough. Except that after being rung in, the total is nearly $30 higher than my cart online. I double check everything and ask about the large difference, and offer to show it to him. He scrolls through my cart on my phone, says something about the shipping cost being factored in. I have a coupon for free shipping, which isn't applicable in this case I guess, but even without it the shipping for my order is just under $10... not $29. He fumbles around an explanation, saying something about having to read the small print... nonspecific small print that wasn't mentioned the first two times I asked, isn't on the site as far as we could find, and nothing that clarifies why, if their system matches the lowest price, it's still 30% higher than what I'm quoted online. He seemed confused, shrugs and offers 10% off the total purchase, which still doesn't bring it close to what I'd pay to just... go sit in the parking lot and order it. And I know that employees don't have a say in how their corporate software works, but surely this isn't the first time this has happened. As a GM I'd hoped for a bit more help in the way of 'price matching', given I was assured multiple times, by multiple people, that it was a policy they practiced regularly. Ultimately I ended up not buying anything aside from a paint set that was cheaper in store than online anyway, and went back to my car and placed the original order after all. It's a bummer that financially it's not worth visiting the Blick brick-and-mortar shop if they're not willing to adhere to their posted policies. I like browsing art supply stores but don't hate myself enough to step into places like H*bby L*bby, so I'd really hoped this would be a nice alternative for when the real-life shopping bug bit. The extra star is for being willing to order something for me that was out of stock, but I opted to just buy it online since it was 36% cheaper anyway. read more

As a first-year Art Teacher who inherited a poorly stocked elementary school art room, I leaned HARD on the good people at Blick over the course of this year! I could frequently be found scuttling into the shop the evening before a lesson, shortly before closing, to buy out their current stock of poster board, linoleum, or bulk acrylics. Each and every time I visit: - I am able to find what I needed - with or without the assistance of the staff. - My spending is mitigated by some combination of coupons, specials, and/or my teacher's discount. - The staff is wonderful: accommodating, helpful, and in good cheer. For my purposes - and for those of all but the most serious artists - this Blick store almost always does the trick! read more

Today was my first time in here. I don't know much about art. But, I received some art supplies for Christmas because I resently started painting. The staff was super helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Explained the proper way to clean and keep my brushes so they don't fall a part. Helped me pick out some starter brushes and canvas. The store was clean and well kept. They were having an awesome sale so I was able to get 2 new brushes, 5 canvases and multiple paints for under $30 I'm extremely happy with my purchases and can't wait to return! Wish I lived closer to this store. Great selection of the items I am typically looking for and very helpful associates. Couldn't make it in last week so did an online order. Realized an hour or so that I'd ordered the wrong color and sent a quick email to customer service...They changed my order to reflect the color I meant to order and sent me a new order confirmation very quickly. Order arrived in 4 days. I have also visited the store in Providence, RI a few times - they also provided great customer service. Obviously, the company knows how to treat their customers. read more

Everyone at Blick is very friendly and clearly knows their stuff. Prices are reasonable and selection is good - especially specialty markers. The one thing I'd like to see more of is calligraphy ink options and more nib variety! read more

If you need art materials, this is the place. I really like their wide selection of watercolor paints, individual pens for sale, and individual Blick-branded colored pencils. They have a huge selection. Like literally if you need something for an art project, they probably have it. Prices are fair -- about what you'd expect from a specialty shop -- but not exorbitant either. They also have quite a few cute/kitschy gift items, and I always check their clearance rack because I usually find something there that I didn't know I needed. :) read more

The Utrecht art store chain sells good quality, standard art supplies at decent prices. This store is no exception. They carry the usual brand names as well as their own store brand paints, canvasses, papers, and tools which are a little cheaper and, when you're a student, good enough in quality for whatever projects you have in mind. If you're a professional artist, you might see enough difference in quality that you'd go for the more well-known brands. Overall, the selection is good for how tiny this place is. Unless you need unusual supplies, like rabbit glue to make your own canvasses, this store should have what you're looking for. They also have great customer service and sales on various items all the time--including discounts for students who show their ID. Sometimes I've gotten free paintbrushes or pens with my purchases. Recommended for your everyday art needs. read more

Helpful and kind staff. Not sure on prices as I rarely buy art supplies. They have all sorts of stuff though! Paint, drawing, clays, canvas, easels, etc... The staff helped us use the Yelp Check-in coupon for 20% off one non-sale item and even helped us sign up for a rewards card to receive 10% off! Very nice. read more

Let me start my review by saying I am not an artist or an art student. I probably do not have an artistic bone in my entire body. So why would I ever go to an art supply store? My hobby is building models. While I get most of my supplies on line or at hobby stores, there were some items I needed that Utrecht sold. Since I live in the neighborhood, it was a convenient stop. Clean, well organized, well stocked store. Employees were extremely pleasant and helpful. They understood what I was looking for and helped my find what I needed. Prices are higher than on line, but they have a frequent shopper program, online coupons and frequent sales. I would recommend this place and will be returning to purchase supplies. read more

I needed a small product so I found them on the Blick website at a sale price. I live close to the Cleveland Hts store so I went in person to purchase. The store refused to honor the website sale price and insisted I pay full retail. The sale price was a 38% savings. This store did not honor their advertised price.
