EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES…read more I will never buy any product or services from Aleen's again. This is what happened: I called Alleen's College Park for a full service custom blind experience. Sonia showed up to measure two windows and show me fabric and options for the Hunter Douglas honeycomb blinds. The fabric choices were easy to make and matched the decor perfectly. I gave her a $1000 deposit on a 2395$ quote on Jan 10, 2014. Sonia informed that it would be 3-4 weeks, and shouldn't be delayed because this is not a busy season. The blinds arrived and a time was scheduled. I had to call Sonia to follow up to ensure the installer was still making the appointment half way through as I had not heard from him. He ended up being 3 hours late but I agreed to wait. He installed the non motorized blind successfully and went to install the motorized one, and it was not in working order. I called Sonia, who gave me the low down on their repair process, and when I questioned her about inspecting the product before it leaving their shop, she indicated to me that it was Hunter Douglas responsibility to ensure their product was quality inspected. But here I am paying Alleens to install a finished product. I am buying a service and product from them. The complete lack of business ownership shown by Sonia, Margareta and Melanie was overwhelming. The blind came back from repair and was installed - however the time and frustration that this experience has given me was beyond acceptable. No one who I spoke with from Alleens apologized for their mistakes. They apologized it happened, and blamed it on the manufacturer and the fact it was a custom product. I would assume that if you are selling custom luxury products - you are selling the experience that goes with it. If you buy from Alleens - you better hope that nothing goes wrong ... It's was a tremendously frustrating experience when the culture from the top down shows blatant disregard for the time of the customer - and only about their bottom line.

Except when I actually had my motorized blinds die from dead batteries, I decided to make use of the offer and it turns out to be the most minimal of efforts. =\ Turns out, all this goodwill gesture was, was for for someone to come and take out the battery holder that's at the top of the blinds and put batteries (that I would have to purchase myself) into the battery holder and slide it back in. And that's it. I literally did it myself in 2 mins after I watched some youtube videos (before, when I called about this complimentary service call, I forgot that the battery holder could only be seen if I lifted the blinds all the way up so I thought it was more of an ordeal to change the batteries). Anyhow, while I had thought it was a decent offer (like a battery change but includes batteries!), it ended up being a pretty useless makegood attempt. It's more effort to coordinate a service call than it is to youtube a how-to video and do it yourself.

Best to go in the middle of the week during the late morning or mid-afternoon as they get busy at this location outside of these hours and they really don't have enough staff during the busy times. They are more expensive than most others, however, they are reliable.

Since my Hunter Douglas blinds arrived in April, 2024 I have made it clear in several emails and in person that it was the wrong colour. Lior told me it's what I ordered - so what could I do? In January, the second of the forth blind started to swing as the fabric isn't rolling correctly on the internal turning rod. Lior was supposed to come and repair the blinds, but didn't show up and didn't tell me he wasn't coming. When I messaged to ask when he's coming, he told me he sent my video to HD and is awaiting their reply, again I raised the issue of the colour. When Lior never returned my text messages, I called Hunter Douglas wrt the repair and the fabric colour. This is when I found out that Lior submitted my order with the WRONG colour. His order to Hunter Douglas had a different colour from that in my quote. I was hoping that this would mean I would finally get the blinds I ordered. However, Lior sent an email stating he will not do anything to rectify his mistake. Customers need to know. PART 2: After continued communication with Hunter Douglas customer service, the associate manager of customer service has offered to resubmit my order with the correct colour at no cost to me. HD has the order Lior submitted and the order Lior gave me - two different colours. Thankfully, HD is a company that cares. Please seek window treatments elsewhere. PART 3: Since April, 2024 I have told Lior that the colour did not match the sample I had picked. When Lior insisted that I had picked the colour, what could I do?! He actually had me believe I picked what I got. Would you want to work with a company that ends up being dishonest? Insisting you made an error when it was their error? Would you risk your money? I am posting this at length to help anyone from experiencing what I did. Why would Hunter Douglas replace my blinds if they did not have the evidence to prove me right?! I have provided screenshots for evidence for your reference. 1) my order - please note colour 2) the colour order on the blinds put through by Lior (HD told me where to find this on the blinds) 3) I limited the emails to two dated April, 2024 with concerns over the colour. There were many many more emails, texts messages & in person conversations wrt colour (note Lior was using the name of the hardware as the fabric - as explained by HD representative) 4) letter from Hunter Douglas to replace the blinds 5) pics of colour I ordered (haze) vs what I received (gray) Furthermore, please do check my one and only Google review that Lior or Alon have noted. There is no Home Stars review. In April when the blinds arrived, Lior noticed spots on them and reordered replacement blinds. That same day he asked me to pay the balance because as he said, "I'm good for it." At least I was smart enough not to pay in full at that time. I did however present the question of the colour and my concern of the dark colour. I have blue walls and I knew I didn't pick the dark grey. Lior made it clear that I ordered the dark grey. As I learnt, if there is doubt trust yourself and not Lior, the salesman who is a partner one day and an employee another. I was made to believe I was wrong, but I was not. I had hoped that our business relationship would let them correct their mistake, not refuse to correct their error. The dishonesty is something I have never experienced before. I'm thankful Hunter Douglas stepped in to make it right for me. Two piece of advice: 1) Look for a company with more reviews to ensure legitimacy of the posts 2) Never pay with e-transfer bc it is like cash. Credit card companies can also step in to help.

I made a comment in an email so I had to be pre-better by telephone the day before the appointment to make sure that I understood their prices, and was prepared to pay. I would never work with these people. They think Hunter Douglas is such a superior product when in my experience, it is not. Just try exercising a lifetime warranty. Maybe the snobbish lady just has a bad personality, then she shouldn't be in sales. I will spend my 3000 elsewhere.

They look like silk, framing the windows and hanging so elegantly down the wall. They have this deep green color. You know how pretty royal purple is? Well, think of that for a green. Deep, rich, shimmery. The way they drape is as if they were tailor made for my windows. Oh wait, they are! Crazy Joe's came out to my house. They brought samples with them. They had different types of fabric in various designs. This being the clearance area of the department, I couldn't get them dyed in special colors, but I could easily do that by ordering from Crazy Joe's Drapery Warehouse ;p I did have a difficult time finding the pattern I liked paired with the fabric I liked, but after much patience, explaining and showing from the representatives, I found exactly what I wanted. My favorite part of the whole deal was the price. I loved how much I saved. I mean, it is truly worth it. If you need new drapes for your home, check out Crazy Joe's. And if you want to save a little money, the clearance center is Mississauga is the place to be!
