So, this review comes very well over due and it's something that should really be considered when finding care for your child. As a mother of a new born I dreaded finding care, and didn't want to leave my daughter with anyone at such a young age, and just didn't want to do it. I am always open to conversation/ communication so I decided to just listen to what Tonya was saying and make my own decision. She was very informative at first and very helpful to in the beginning showing that she was very experienced and caring. She stated that she had some children that were supposed to start very soon, that following Monday through One of the programs. She told me to come and visit in the event that she may have a spot. I brought my precious baby girl and she was very very nice. However she did explain to me that she was going to be watching her grandson. I noticed that everything that we talked about in reference to my daughter somehow went back to her grandson. After staying there for a little while I then left and we agreed I would check in with her in the future to see if there was an opening. Two days on a holiday The Fourth of July she contacted me and said, she was sorry that she contacted me on the holiday but the kids that were supposed to start don't have their stuff together... And there is a space available. I told her I was Looking at a center to put her in, and she said oh ok. I then told her I would be able to tell her as soon as possible if I could take the spot. I talked with my husband and we decided that I would take the spot so I called her back. During our conversation we talked about feeding plans and how I had to supplement using formula. She told me that she didn't know anything about formula and she didn't give her grandson formula and she would tell her daughter that she better pump. See, the issue I have with that is I have a bigger child that eats a lot during the day and her doctor and I decided that supplementing formula would be the best thing possible for her needs. So we discussed the times and because of the travel she was going to have a long day, she also told me that it's a long time to be away from your baby. See, the issue with this is, I work for the Federal government and I have to do what I have to do because of travel, and she made me feel bad for leaving her for so long. Next, she explained her registration fee and that her grandson would be starting that Monday and the hours wouldn't be so bad because her daughter goes into work later anyway then when I would drop off My daughter. Either way, I confirmed with my job the day I would be returning. Monday comes and she calls me at the end of the day and says, she watched her grandson all day and that it would be too much for my daughter to come with her being the main provider and it's just too much work and she wouldn't be able to give my daughter the care she needed. She also stated that she would have to have her assistant stay later to help out more for longer hours.
So, this is the main issue that I have:
You assured that infant care is your speciality you even advertise yourself this way,
You call me to tell me that you can take my daughter and then after all that nothing has changed except you watch your grandson all day
I was wondering how in the world she was going to do all that but with her 25 years of experience and all this and that I guess that's how, well obviously not. I do appreciate her honesty with my child. I will say that every thing works out for the best because her God mother and a very best friend of mine actually took her child her a while ago and she did not recommend her because of her wanting to make rude comments and voice her opinion. So everything worked out for the best. I will say that I was fortunate to place her in a center and not have to worry about the vacations, the complaints and the lack of staff to help. Where my daughter goes is amazing and the head of the childcare use to own her own place. She loves my daughter and I love them. I would not recommend this place at all, I would overall skip the drama. read more
