My husband has been fighting for custody for the past almost 3 years. The motions being filed by the other party were getting out of hand and we were being drug to court almost monthly. We finally got to the point where we decided to retain counsel. Katrina Otto has been by our side ever since and just recently helped us conclude the litigation of our case with the best possible outcome. While having Katrina on board she educated us on every step of the way. While these kind of things are taxing on anyone, she fought the case on our behalf giving us some sanity in our lives back while always doing her best to keep our spirits high. She was always honest with us in terms of what to expect and her efforts have always been focused on the client and not the financial side of things and her transparency on this we valued. Bliss has a good billing system that gives you an itemized invoice regularly so you know where the monies are being utilized. I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone. I hired Riley to help me with my relocation and after I had another attorney go over everything, the reason I wasn't heard by the judge was because Riley went over the page count on my declaration. When it was time for trial, because they didn't like going against Dennis Schroeder, they wanted $45k for a RETAINER for trial. When I shopped around, a trial retainer should only be $10-$15k. Terrible services, would never recommend. Also, when you want them to withdrawal, they will charge you for that too. I have a $900 bill because it took them 3 hours to just file THEIR withdrawal paperwork with the courts. I'd find someone else for sure!!! read more

I spoke with many lawyers to start this process. I thought I had found the right team to help navigate me through one of the most difficult processes of my life. Eventually I was met with the horrible truth that I made the wrong decision. Terrified, I scrambled to search for a new legal team. To be thorough I met with a few other lawyers but before even speaking with Lindsay Rogers, I could tell from her representative where I should be. Lindsey is smart, stern, can pivot and adapt to the unexpected, highly professional and watching her in action was treat. She immediately stepped in with a plan, gave Me comfort in the steps ahead of us and honestly listened in a way that allowed her to hear the unsaid in my story. Every step of the way I was told it couldn't be done before speaking with her and her amazing team. Literally every step of the way, from friends, family, lawyers to even social workers. All claiming in Washington state a Father will never receive custody of their child and that the courts would ALWAYS side with the mother and even give her the chance to correct her mistakes. Everyone except Lindsey and her team. They supported me in a way that was unexpected and for that along with doing the "impossible" in slaying Goliath, I have so much gratitude. There is still more ahead but I feel confident in myself, her skills and the competent team that Ms Rogers surrounded herself with. They provide the type of service that the dollar can't buy. On the silver screen they call in super heros in tights to come save the day...but in the real world, they are much more inconspicuous. I had to wait over a year to post this review. I wanted to ensure I was not emotionally charged when I wrote it. I felt that Attorny Rodgers in this practice was mediocre at best. I started by calling and stating that it was time to file for divorce, 4 weeks later, nothing was done. So, my ex filed. no big deal, just bad practice. Every step of the way was a price gouge. Any communication, even a small email for clarification came with a charge. I will leave it at that. I had 5 retirement accounts (pension, IRA's, etc). My ex and I agreed to split them evenly. Ms Rodgers submitted the amount that we agreed to on 4 of the IRA's, she simply missed computing the 5th one. Her attorney noted the error and accused us of wanting to keep the total amount of it and not split it evenly. It was an oversight by Ms Rodgers. Yet I got charged for the communication between the attorney's as they discussed her mistake, then I got charged again as she recalculated the numbers. Basically, charged twice for the same thing and charged for her time to discuss her mistake. Once my wife and I agreed on all of the "numbers", it still took this attorney over 7 months to get things finalized. with thousands of dollars of charges each month. I ended up relieving her of her position as the divorce just wasnt coming to conclusion, grinding out more costs. Once she was relieved the divorce finalized quickly as there were no more charges to accrue. Finally, I had a several thousand dollar retainer that was due to be refunded. But not surprisingly, a final pile of charges appeared that depleted almost all of my retainer. I guess this is how they all work. Would have been nice had she been aggressive or even effective. She seem to be compliant with my ex's attorney who was a much more senior attorney in the community. Ms Rodger's seemed to be interested more in maintaining collegiality with my Ex's attorney than truly going to bat for me. read more

I contacted Bliss in early December 2022. I had a child support order that should have ended when the child finished high school but at the age of 20.5 my son was still in high school: simply staying enrolled without earning credits (how is this possible Bates Technical High School?). On 12/27 I deposited 5k with Bliss. On 12/28 I found out my son had emancipated (married and joined military) so I put the case on hold. On 1/10 I was tired of waiting for DCS to close the support order, so I asked Bliss to file the case. I received several emails from Bliss that stated they were working on filing and would be in touch with me. THEY NEVER REACHED OUT TO ME ONCE. Shortly after I received a 2nd invoice for charges that were ridiculous. Example: Rebekah said she spoke with my son's commanding officer to find out how he qualified for the military. Rebekah knew the information cannot be used in court yet she charged me for it. Other charges, I won't go into, were ridiculous as well. Long story short, the experience was unprofessional. Bliss was on a money grab. Further, Bliss knew that if we went to court, I would win because my son emancipated. Rebekah was trying to charge as much as possible (my opinion). Outcome?: I spoke with an operations person who agreed to a refund of 50% of what was billed/paid. Even this process was not professional. THEY NEVER FOLLOWED THE PROCESS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. I eventually received the refund ($1,200). I think I paid a total of 2k for nothing (lol). Well I did learn something.....DO YOUR REVIEWS BEFORE YOU HIRE AN ATTORNEY, EVEN IF THE ATTORNEY WAS RECOMMENDED. Last note: Bliss will probably say "we were not a good fit". Ok sure, I agree. Who would be a good fit for a law group that goes on a money grab? Avoid this group if you can. read more

They were unprepared, did not do their research, did a terrible job at identifying the issues and left me vulnerable. I would have been better off doing it myself. Worst experience ever. read more

The most incompetent and unethical attorney I have ever worked with!! Heather Bliss should have her legally blonde law license revoked. She actually compared motherhood to having a dog. She also told me all about her going to therapy for counseling and emotional distress. She told me that sometimes she likes to argue for no reason and will pick a meaningless fight with her husband. I feel bad that she lost her parents, but it shows that she didn't have moral guidance growing up. While working with her, there was a court date that she FORGOT about and only showed up because I had called her office that morning to confirm the room number. She appeared in court looking like she had a long night out and wasn't even prepared for argument. She leaned over and asked me if I had brought documents. I saved her butt that day because I did have my copy of documents. It was my life and my child on the line, and she acted like I hadn't done enough to help my own case. Heather did NOT protect me or the interest of my child. I fired her and found new council to complete my divorce. My divorce was a standard WA divorce case that she tried to drag out to a trial case. Neither party had assets and my family was paying for her services. I was on welfare for God's sake. She racked up over a $13,000 bill for a case that could have cost $1,500. There was no end in sight for my case, which is why I had to fire her. Do not trust this woman. She is not good practice nor is she intelligent enough to serve you well. She will throw you under the bus any chance she gets and then charge you for it. read more

Bliss Law is only there to take your money . After running up thousands of dollars with no end in sight , the firm is now seeking a judgement for garnishment knowing I have nothing . I ended up representing myself for the remainder of the divorce and did very well . I do not recommend this office at all . Make sure you document every second . They are extremely dishonest with billing and lack true compassion for families . read more

Not worthy of 1 star. The only thing I found this firm has done well is charge my credit card. Combined, several thousand dollars. I retained Heather Bliss in April, her office didn't contact me again until I started inquiring about progress June 1st. She passed me off to Scott Marlow who after 6 months I was still in the same position. He asked the same questions over and over (and billed me!) as if no one took notes or was so busy they couldn't remember one case from the next. Heather said she would take care of me. She didn't care. I was assured by Madeline Schaller in her office that I would hear from Heather Bliss within a few days of October 24th to discuss the financials. I have yet to hear from her and this is par for the course in working with this office. 7 months, several thousand dollars, I'm in the same spot I was in last April.
