I custom ordered fabric replacement for my sectional. I was told 2 week turn around time and I had to pick up. I called after 15 days to be told "I got an email today, they sent the wrong fabric they have to ship the correct fabric" when asked what could be done as far as overnight shipping or 2 day priority and compensation for the inconveience, I was then yelled at by salesman Mike, he continued to talk over me tell me he didn't appreciate my attitude etc. I proceeded to hang up the phone, I have never had such horrible customer service. I'm still waiting on a manager to call me back, I was told "she's at lunch till 1:30 yet when he called back it sounded like he had spoke with her briefed her on the situation and she was "handling everything from her." So not only was I yelled at by the salesperson but also probably lied to as well. I always deal with Babette's furniture in Leesburg for their exceptional customer service, and she recommended Blockers since it was closer to my home to pick up the fabric due to my tight timeline, I now regret ever dealing with Blockers furniture and will continue to deal with Babette's. read more

We bought a Jackson Catnapper and started having problems before the warranty was up. Blockers gave us a number for the repairman and we called, left voicemail and waited and we called, left voicemail and waited and we called, left voicemail and waited. Finally we called Blockers again explaining the problem and they gave us another number. Since they baited us out beyond the warranty period we now had to pay the guy they recommended cash. He didn't do anything. English was obviously his second language and he really didn't seem up to the task, so we were still stuck. After that, another motor failed. I have tried to contact Jackson Furniture Company without success. At this point I cannot recommend either of these outfits at all. We have an $1800 paperweight now thanks to Blockers inability or unwillingness to provide proper after sale service. read more

Customer service is very poor. Stopped into the store for an updated delivery date (received one kitchen chair but missing the other 3 and the kitchen table). I was informed that the receiving dept would call me in a few days. They did not. I waited another week and finally called them. I was told the sales rep would call me the next day. He did not. I waited another week and emailed the sales rep. I got no response. I waited almost a week and emailed him again. No response. I just emailed the company from their website. If you are looking to support a small business like I was, this is not the company. Was promised our furniture by Christmas but did not receive it until after Christmas because they wanted me to pay another $100 for a van delivery. We had already paid for two deliveries and felt the extra money should be their cost since we were told it would be here by in time for Christmas. Some of the furniture came damaged and again I had to continuously follow up to get our replacement. The customer service is horrible to deal with and not friendly at all. Say they will get back to you and never return calls/emails until I called again. Asked to talk with a manager and was told he/she was with a customer and offer no call back to me. I guess you are not considered a customer once you give them your money. Definitely would not recommend or buy from them again. read more

Its nice walking in somewhere, needing help and not even being offered once as all the sales people stand around. Everyone is holding their folders standing around while i try and wave someone down followed by a stare and they proceeded to ignore me. For such a huge store, and what looked to be a lot of people on staff im appalled or maybe just everyone met their sales goal this month!! Definitely will not be coming back here! Also their cleaning lady is very rude to customers, she seemed to be the only one paying attention to anyone walking in and making aggressively rude comments under her breathe. Still would rate blockers as a five-star for their sales team, however, the furniture that we were originally were told would take 4 months is now taking closer to 10 or 11 so we decided to cancel and buy something on consignment. They were great at calling us and being honest. They were also wonderful at doing the refund of our deposit Over the phone with no hassle. It's not their fault the furniture is not coming in. This is the second time I have bought furniture from Blockers. Although it's a bit of a hike to get to from Alachua (1 hr to Ocala) it is worth the trip. The store showroom is massive with lots of different furniture styles, selection and quantities to choose from. The sales people are always friendly and helpful. They let you do your own thing without hovering. Each time there was a sale going on so I got 15-20% off the list price. The furniture quality is excellent and they do take custom orders. In addition to furniture they have lots of accessories, lamps, pillows and wall art. You could literally decorate your whole house with the selection. The other benefit is they deliver to Alachua for a nominal cost ($60). The only drawback is it can only be on certain days when the do other deliveries to Gainsville. The last order was a complete custom office furniture collection. I literally had to buy it sight unseen since they did not have a floor model. But it came as described in the literature. We needed a repair to a chair we had purchased and it was no longer under warranty. SABRINA worked with us to contact the manufacturer, who was not at all cooperative or interested in satisfying us. Just saying the chair was no longer available for purchase. Sabrina and my husband discussed whether we would be able to find a piece of fabric to repair the damaged portion. We have 3 other pieces to match and this was clearly a flaw. Sabrina found the fabric and, again, by communication with my husband, the piece was able to be replaced. Within two weeks, as promised, Sabrina called to say the part was at the warehouse. She was so professional, courteous and caring!!! Purchase day sofa from Bassett from blockers furniture ordered it in an oyster color hunt club Bassett sofa the sofa came in with mismatched cushion covers and the sofa itself was not the correct color we decided that we would suck it up and take the sofa in the color that it came in provided that they would change out the cushion covers to the correct color of the rest of the body which they did now 2 months after that the basset hunt club sofa is pilling even after we got the fabric protection in the warranty for 5 years Bassett is doing nothing about it they say that's not covered under warranty and blockers is doing nothing about it this is no way to treat a customer I will not darken the doors again Unless something is done in a professional manner read more

We've lived here for two years and always thought this was a vacant business Now I know why I've never heard of it or realized it was open for business. I'm pretty confident they have a high turn over. There is no way that many ppl can be that ignorant on how financing works UNLESS you're a new employee. Bought a "starter" bedroom suit for our D getting ready to start college. The woman in the cashier/financing/contract, etc, dept.was a bundle of nerves with a bad attitude. I couldn't tell if she was overwhelmed or needed to be on an anti anxiety med. Every question we asked about their 90 day set up and the co. who does it, Merchant Preferred, was met with a heavy, "I don't know...you can call them and ask them." It was late, we were tired, we only had 1/3 of the purchase amount left to pay, and we knew it would be paid off within the month, so we ordered the bedroom suit. The mess we had to go through to find out how and when we could officially pay off our furniture, the lack of knowledge and bad attitude from the women behind the counter at Blocker's Furniture will be their demise. Our sales person, Don, was a nice man. The men who delivered our items, very nice as well. When you hire ppl and give them the responsibility of setting up accounts, taking payments and explaining to the customer how the process works and they act insulted when they have to follow through and DO their job, why would anyone want to continue to do business with you? Their furniture is nice, but over priced, except for their "starter" room which is equivalent to a Rooms 2 Go back when they first opened and sold vapid furniture sets. Solely based on the snarky attitudes of their cashiers/ office personnel...we will not be returning costumers. I have recently relocated to FL. I have been waiting 12 weeks for Blockers to correct an error on their part, where they ordered and delivered my sofa with the wrong color legs. I contacted them immediately after delivery and was told I would have to pay $40 for the new legs even though it was their error. I had spent $5,000 there!! After expressing my displeasure they agreed to replace the legs free of charge. Since November I have been calling to find out when I would have the replacement legs. They continually tell me they're ordered but the manufacturer has not sent them. I find this very hard to believe and find this situation totally unacceptable. We Love Blocker's! We're new to Florida and shopped every furniture store in the area; Babbett's, Family, Rooms to Go, Hudson's and Kane. None compare to Blocker's! They're nice to deal with and are the ONLY furniture story around that has a 30-day return policy. This is a HUGE deal for people (like me) that may make mistakes in choosing pieces for their new home. I was overwhelmed with the open floor plan and had no idea what I was doing... I had to return 3 pieces and it was not a problem at all, and in fact, they encouraged me to return it if I wasn't happy because that's what they wanted! The staff are friendly and professional and nothing is ever an issue. I furnished 2 rooms in my home so far and will be going back for the other 3. Recommend working with sales women Pam or Jackie, both are stellar. Prices are better than any other place around too and quality is great. There's a reason they've been in business for over 90 years. This is how a business should be run! I'll never shop anywhere else as long as I live here to furnish my home. I purchased a couch loveseat recliner and a full dining room set Labor Day weekend 2019 paid in full before I left the store. The furniture was delivered November 2nd 2019 and the recliner was the wrong color it did not match the couch and loveseat. So I contacted our sales representative right away and he said that one would be ordered right away. I contacted the sales representative on 12/24 2019 only to find out that someone forgot to order the chair. So they said they would order it right away and I should get it between four and six weeks. I just contacted Chris and customer service and she said that it was never ordered and today is the 25th of February 2020. So now if they order it today it'll be another four to six weeks. So the moral to the story is do not pay for your furniture in full because by the time I get the recliner it will have been 6 and a half months since it was ordered and paid for. read more

I brought Ashley sofa and over size chair. First chair within a month start making loud noise when I recline ,want to put new motor and I say no so they gave me another chair. Second chair within two months leather wear off where you set , they gave be another chair . Three chair in 4 months now this leather wear off where you set and where leg lay. They send man out to cover up with leather paint, within a month same thing. Do not buy Ashey dark brown sofa and chairs color of leather wears off with in a few months. This company has been grossly negligent in regards to the safety of the furniture they sell. My family purchased a loveseat from this company two years ago and only a couple of months into owning it, we had issues. One of the recliners would not go back into the normal position. We politely called and requested that the issue be fixed since the sofa was still under warranty. The person they sent out to fix the couch, made my physically and mentally disabled mother hold the couch while he made the repairs. She tried to tell him that she has restrictions on what physical activities she could do, but she was felt pressured by him and held the couch. I was in the other room at the time, so I did not see this happen or else I would not have allowed. This action caused her to be injured. He also borrowed our tools to repair the sofa because he apparently did not bring enough of his own. This wasn't a big deal, because at least we had the tools, but it seemed kind of unprofessional. Not to mention that the tools he borrowed were left IN our sofa. As soon as we sat on the sofa, the bottom part of the recliner flew open. It was very fast and shocking to whoever was seated there. We called them back as soon as we could and told them that the issue was still occurring. They kept telling us we would get a call back and someone would be out to fix it and they never did. We had this back and forth with them until our warranty expired. By then, the problem was so bad, that the recliner part of the sofa would spring open without anyone sitting there or touching it. This wound up injuring my dog, my father, and my mother on various occasions. We called and let them know that this has been an ongoing issue and we really need it repaired. We have never been unwilling to pay for the repair. We just need the issue actually addressed. Well, Cheryl at Blocker's decided that the solution was to scream at my disabled mom when she reported the injuries received from the couch to Blocker's. We begged for a repair on this sofa and we were told that we might have someone come out to fix in within several weeks. Meanwhile, my dog was hit in the face by the recliner flying open while he was walking past it and it knocked him unconscious. It deployed while my mom was walking and she hit her head on the coffee table because she tripped over it. At this point, we would love for Blocker's to take responsibility for their negligence and fix this damn couch so that we don't have a loaded death trap in our home anymore. I called Cheryl one last time to let her know that if she was unwilling to send someone out to fix the couch, that we would be seeking legal counsel for our damages. She told me to go ahead and the conversation was over. If you would like to do business with a company that doesn't care whether or not you are gravely injured by their furniture, Blocker's is the business for you. read more

I was extremely disappointed with the service from Blockers. We went in to purchase a Chofa. We were told by the sales representative oh, I could have it in here in two weeks. So basing on that timeline, we purchased the Chofa. Well, hurricane Irma came and we had to leave back north sooner than we planned . My husband went in to check on the status, he was told not to the end of October Maybe November. Very different story than what we were informed . He was also treated rudely by the salesperson that day. Then when he told them that we were going to cancel since we would not be down here, she then said oh we will have it here by the end of September. We canceled. I do not ACCEPT being lied to. My husband and I just moved to Ocala from Minnesota a few months ago. We finally found a home, and needed some new furniture and a new bed. When we went in, there were a few sales people standing there and they didn't even make eye contact or greet us. We went over to beds and was there for at last 30 minutes. No one came. Went into the other part of the store to look for living room furniture. I thought I was in the twilight zone. i said "hi" to a couple of the salesmen and barely a "hi" back. I felt like we was iwere invisible. It was truly a surreal experience. In this case, there were plenty of workers but so far none of them wanted anything to do with working and making money apparently. Finally a lady who worked there said "hi" first but she was walking away while she said it. I asked her if she could help us and explained that we had been there for just under an hour and no one wanted to help us and we were ignored. She apologized and later said that the employees have been told time and time again they need to greet the customers. We were also told how amazing this company is and how old it is. Well, we were not amazed. This woman helped us very efficiently and the lady that checked us out was really nice too. Too bad the cashier wasn't One of their salespeople. So we bought over 5000 dollars of furniture since we didn't have time to go to another store and start the process of looking around. . I was happy to have finally found a salesperson that would actually take our order. I can only conclude that the owner does not care because if he/she did, their words to the employees would be taken seriously and obviously as the salesperson had said, had been admonished several times but nothing has changed. I could tell she heard this a lot and was frustrated herself. Was told she decided to move on and I was stuck being helped by someone who was more concerned about his "side" business than helping me finishing my house. So upset about my recent purchase at Blocker's! My wife & I have done quite a bit of business with this locally owned furniture store over the past 20+ years, but no more! Looking for a leather recliner, I was told by the salesman that none of their factories were using real leather anymore because the new faux leather was superior & more durable. I grilled him, expressing my concerns - my previous leather recliner had ONLY torn & separated at the parts that weren't real leather. After only a brief time of normal wear & tear usage, my chair has 4 holes in it & the store refuses to help me in any way! This store has terrible customer service. I walked into the door and was just glared at by the lady behind the desk, she never spoke a word. I continued into the store to browse around for a specific kind of bed I am shopping for. Three different employees/salesmen walked by me numerous times and never even said so much as Hi to myself or my son. I walked the entire store and still had not been spoken to nor asked if I needed help. Warning do not go here!! I special ordered a chair I had to put down 25% and waited 6 weeks. When I receive the chair the cushion did not fit properly at all I called blockers and told them I would not accept delivery of the chair. The delivery service also took photos and sent it to the office for them to see and they told me that they would replace the cushion so I signed the papers and accepted the delivery. They are now telling me they are not going to replace the cushion after just telling me less than a week ago that it has already been ordered. Trust me they are nothing but liars and thieves.
