I had an appointment with Dr. Timothy Degan with Blom Orthopaedics office as Dr. Degan was listed as a Tier 1 Doctor within my insurance at United HealthCare. Dr. Degan's front desk/reservations staff accepted my appointment for two months in advance and about a month prior to the appointment, I received a call from Stephanie at the front desk and she left a few words of a voicemail and hung up. I called the office back the following day and Stephanie answered and thanked me for calling back and said that they needed to cancel my appointment as Dr. Degan had 3 surgeries come up the day of my appointment and I would need to come the day before. I already had scheduled time off from work and worked my schedule around theirs for the appointment. I asked Stephanie if I could see another doctor in office that day and they just bill it back as Dr. Degan since they're in the same office and Stephanie said their billing team would not allow them do so. By seeing Dr. Degan, I would have only had to pay a $45 copay, by seeing another doctor, I would have had to have pay a lot more (20% of the total charge because I had not met my insurance deductible - so this would have made a big difference on what I would have had to pay out of pocket. My insurance advocate I had with United HealthCare told me while I was on hold that Dr. Blom's office was trying to "pull a fast one" to charge me a lot more that I didn't need to pay. I asked Stephanie at the Front Desk to connect me with her manager for discussion and Stephanie said her manager was not available as she was about to get onto a call with the corporate office but said she apologized but there was nothing else she could do and if I didn't like it I could find another doctor's office. Stephanie wished me and United HealthCare a good day and ended the call and later canceled my appointment. I felt the experience was extremely rude by the front desk staff and the front desk manager and I don't recommend this office to my worst enemy. read more

Dr. Blom is very thorough in his examinations, and he gives clear explanations and recommendations. His willingness to listen ensures the patient is fully informed. For me, his relaxed approach has been some of the most positive doctor's experiences I've had. Thanks to his outstanding front desk staff and particularly his assistants whose warm smiles and engaging personalities created a welcoming atmosphere, which has consistently exceeded my expectations. read more

The staff was prompt and professional. The doctor took her time to make sure everything was well with me with questions and concerns.

I was referred to Dr Blom off September 2024. However the staff makes it impossible for you to get a appointment because they divert all the doctors referral to Dr Galves. Each time you are told the doctor is on vacation. January 2025, it's the same thing, ' Dr Blom is on vacation'. It's a shame. If anyone knows Dr Bloom cellphone they need to let him know that he's been boycott to receive patients been referred to him. read more

They denied me attention!!!!! It's incredible what has happened to me. I put a complaint on Dr J Bloom's reviews page, complaining about the poor service of a front desk person, I never involved the doctor and his team because they are excellent. The only thing I expected was a little empathy for my health, I am suffering from a lot of pain in my right leg and hip, I could not go to the consultation due to an administrative procedure pending authorization. I had to go to the emergency room in an extreme case and I wanted to inform my doctor, as appropriate, and the lady did not give me any chance. I contacted his assistant and explained the situation to her. The opinions page is there precisely to optimize the service, in addition to freedom of expression. After waiting 3 weeks with pain, my appointment with Dr Bloom finally arrived today. The manager, with a lot of authority, did not allow me to enter, literally, "because she said I'm not felt happy." I was humiliated along with my husband, they kicked us out of the office consultation without any option for conversation, not even prioritizing the state I was in. I belong to the Florida Department of Health and I know that a kind gesture is an added value and good education. I don't know if the doctor is aware of what happened, I regret that his image is damaged. My personal opinion is that she manipulated the events because I have a hard time believing that the doctor authorized such a shameful eviction. read more

Main reason for 1 star is the lack of professionalism from staff. Few days before my appointment I talk with someone over the phone to make sure that they receive a referral from my primary doctor, they confirmed and say that I'm got and that all was ok for my appointment, I even ask if they have a online resource where I download and print any paperwork, to be filled, and to bring all ready for my visit, to save time, because yes!!, time is very important!!!, to my surprise when I arrive to the doctors office, they advise me that I have to wait, because the referral have a wrong address, and they have to call my primary doctor office to correct it, and have them fax it over again with address correction, way wait till im the there to do that?, they also told me that they can't check me in, till they receive the corrections, it took 50 minutes for that correction to arrive and that was when they will check me in with five patients in from of me that all arrive after me, with and extra wait time for more than and hour to be able to be seen by the doctor, I left the office and canceled my visit, because of course I can't wait all that time, specially for their mistakes, bad experience, Doctors office's need to lear that patients time is important, we deserve respect! read more

Dr. Johannes Blom was amazing with me. I tore 3 out of my 4 ligaments in my left knee at a wedding. The doctors office was able to get me right in and gave me all the information I needed and didn't want me to rush into surgery. I'm so happy that he gave me that advise because I was ready for surgery and I'm sooooo happy I didn't do it. I'm feeling so much better and stronger everyday. The worst ever. Beware. You will end up worse than when you walked in. I am now walking with a limp and a cane from his botched up surgery.
