The staff is very attentive. The lady that took my Xray was very kind and professional! The doctor explain my problem very well and spent enough time with me. The fact that the were open on Sunday was very beneficial, so I didn't need to wait until Monday to see an orthopedic physician after my accident! I would very much so not recommend coming to OrthoNow Aventura. I have previously heard good things, but perhaps since this is a franchise location it is not up to the Standards of other OrthoNow locations. I had a bad feeling about this place from the second I walked in. The baron walls, fast food menu on the wall of prices for services, and sub-zero temperatures did not give me a feeling of comfort, a much-needed feeling as I was in a high amount of discomfort. After taking getting my X-rays taken I took a photo of my X-rays on the computer with my phone. At this point, the doctor came running over saying "that's a big no-no, big no-no" as he was chastizing the X-ray tech in front of me for taking a picture of my x-rays. This gave me a very uncomfortable feeling seeing the way that he was treating his staff in front of me. Especially since there should not be a single issue with me taking a picture of my X-rays on my phone. After my examination, I ensured that they gave me a copy of these X-rays on a CD and there was no issue there. I came in with immense pain in my foot and hand. The doctor poked around on my foot until he located the pain. He then left the room for no more than 15 seconds, not even enough time to have walked to the room where he would look at the X-rays. He came back and told me that I did not have any fractures in my finger or foot. The Issue here is that I sent my X-rays over to a radiologist and within 15 seconds he noticed a very clear and obvious fracture in both my foot and finger. read more

If I could give 0 Stars to this place of business, then I would. I went to OrthoNow on 163rd St. on 12/28. I had the worst experience at an Urgent Care facility. Joyce was the X-Ray Tech, and Dr. Jorge De La Rotta was the physician. I sat in the room waiting for the X-Ray tech. The door opened without a knock. She didn't introduce herself. She told me I needed an X-Ray and to follow her. Joyce took me to the X-Ray room and ordered me to put my bag on a dirty foot step. I tried to put my bag on the chair and she ordered me not to put my bag in the chair. She was very rude. I saw there was a hook, so I put my bag on the hook. She ordered me to sit in the chair. I told her not to speak to me this way. She told me not to speak to her that way. I walked out of the room because this woman was so nasty. I told the nurse I didn't want anything to do with Joyce. She asked me to sit in the room and the physician, Dr. De La Rotta would be with me. I sat there waiting for him to see me for a bit. I opened the door since they had no other patients. I asked the nurse how long it would be. I saw the physician sitting there, however he didn't acknowledge me. I sat there for a little bit longer, and opened the door again, and saw him speaking with Joyce. They were talking about me. I gathered my bag, and went to the front desk. I asked for a refund, and saw the physician give the ladies my paperwork. He didn't speak to me at all. I asked the kind ladies at the front about speaking to their manager. The manager wasn't in. I started to tell them what happened, and Joyce appeared from the back. I asked her to get away from me. She refused to leave. Then the Dr. and nurse came to tell her to leave. She refused to leave. The Dr. then admonished me for calling this woman a psychopath. He said I needed to calm down. He didn't speak to me at all the entire time I was there, other than to tell me not to call her a psychopath. What would you call someone who follows you to argue with you in a medical facility? One goes to an Urgent Care because you are in dire need of medical care. Avoid this facility. Both Joyce and Dr. De La Rotta have NO BUSINESS working in healthcare. Joyce is the nastiest person I have encountered at an Urgent Care. Dr. De La Rotta is uncaring, cold, and has no bedside manner. read more

I went as I had an injury in my hand. The Dr diagnosed me with a broken thumb and advice to put a cast for 3-4 weeks, I objected to this recommendation and wore something else that mobilized my hand instead. I was never convinced of this diagnoses and went to see a hand specialist from Baptist, after taking x-rays the doctor from Baptist confirmed that I never had a fracture and instead of mobilizing my hand, he advised me to just move it as much as possible to regain my strength. A few days later, my hand is back to almost 100%. Don't trust this place, go to a trusted source instead! After I called to let them know they just told me that my diagnoses was the doctors opinion and they couldn't do anything about that. read more

So I have mixed feelings about this place because that's why I did not give it one star, because you can go without an appointment and not wait very long, they are very thorough however when I went, I have been taking a medicine called Lyrica they had been working very well for me but the doctor insisted to put me on cyclobenzaprine which is a muscle relaxer which makes me unable to do anything and I told him this but he refuse to keep me on the same medication that I already was. For that reason I decided to go to spineless America because they took my insurance and they happen to work out better and prescribe me the medication that I to been taking. I feel like the doctor was a little dishonest by telling me that he could not prescribe that type of medication if there was some kind of limitation and there isn't because the other doctor was able to prescribe it to me without a problem no problem, so I think the doctor needs to listen to the patient a little bit more especially when they come from another state with an existing problem and existing medication it is wrong to try to put them onto a different medication that is not even going to work. I think if that recommendation was taken I probably will still be going there because everything else was fine in the facility is nice and clean read more

Avoid at all costs. OrthoNOW requires all payments before you go in,standard practice. What is wrong is that you receive another bill in the mail after you have already paid in full. This is a terrible business practice and in my opinion unethical. They also use doctors just out of medical school rather than the experienced doctors they advertise. read more

This place was absolutely the best! The wait was minimal each time and they totally took care of my fractured wrist after a fall as I couldn't get an appointment with an orthopedic doctor for weeks!! They took X-rays, gave me an exact diagnosis and gave me a temporary splint since I was so swollen. I came back in 10 days and a hard cast was put on. Everyone there was super from the office gIrl, X-ray tech and the doctor and would definitely recommend this place to anyone w/ an orthopedic issue. read more

Initial visit was positive. My wife's broken foot was looked after. They suggested a special boot at $400 which they claimed my insurance will only cover half. So I paid the $200. Next day I found the same boot on Amazon for $70.. follow up phone calls were not returned receptionist nurse never got back to us regarding insurance questions or physical therapy options. The doctor never returned a single phone call. The nurse returned one of the five phone calls. Finally we got a surprise huge bill including $400 for the boot that we had already paid $200 for plus a a bunch of other bogus charges. Eventually I got almost everything waived I just paid the last amount just to close the door on these people. The doctor is OK but do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to go because after the first visit it's all downhill. read more

I had a good initial experience here. They saw me, drained my knee. Gave me meds and said I needed an MRI and that I should return. On the second visit i saw a different doctor who seemed somewhat lost in the process of my treatment. But was never the less, very knowledgable and helpful. She promised a new med to be delivered to my home and a call from a specialist would be to setting up an appointment with him. Neither of those things happened. They also, unbeknownst to me, schedule me for a third follow up appointment on a day I would be out of town. When I received the text confirming the appointment I had to call to change it. And ask why I was being asked to come back. The person on the phone had no idea why and changed my appointment and hurried me off the phone On the third and final appointment, i was seen by a THIRD doctor, who really had no clue what was going on and literally interrupted me every time i spoke. He seemed nervous and hurried. Once he understood that, I as well as him, had no idea why I was there, he ushered me out and claimed that they would send the promised meds and make the appointment for the knee specialist. That visit they also kept calling me by the wrong first name. I corrected them several times. But it kept happening. The meds did arrive as promised and were useless as they turned out to be a promotional that hadn't had much testing and basically did nothing. And they claimed they had made the appointment for the specialist. 48 hours before the appointment I thought Id call the said specialist to confirm the location and time. Lo and behold the didn't have an appointment for me. They didn't even have me in their system. When I called OrthoNow Aventura the young lady on the phone put me on hold for a long time then returned and asked for a call back number and hung up. When she did finally call back she acted as though she still didnt understand the problem. And couldnt find me in her system. I asked her to look under the incorrect name- she found me. I explained again that they had failed to assist me in finding the promised specialist and she insisted that they had made an appointment for me. I got off the phone with her and called the specialist and they also insisted that they had nothing for me-- not even under the incorrect first name that Ortho Now had been calling me by. So I called OrthoNow yet again and the young lady said," we just made it for you!! Right now!! Isnt that great?!" I politely said that I was very uncomfortable with the way things had played out and was not going to be working with them any longer. And hung up. Besides all that, the thing I found very distressing was that every visit a nurse would take my blood pressure and they found it very high. I knew this because the meds they gave me always took my blood pressure to dangerous levels. Even with that knowledge this male nurse shamed me every time he took my numbers. And every time id say that it was from the meds and that we knew this already. Never the less each visit the shaming came, along with prophecies of doom should I not get the pressure under control. It was very unpleasant. And put the issue on me. Needless to say, I had a very uncomfortable two final visits and for other than an emergency, I would not come here. Better to be your own advocate and see a specialist. read more

If you like to support businesses that take advantage of a human at their weakest - when they can't wait for a doctor appointment and resort to urgent care - but never receive care and still send you a bill, this is your place. If you can wait for the doctor, do it, because that's likely going to be the result of your visit. At least that was the result of mine. If when you ask about additional cost and you're told don't worry - this is your place. Yes, I'm an adult, but if understanding how the healthcare system works automatically came with adulthood, then that's my fault. My husband went in for a broken hand and was told he needs surgery and paid almost 200 for a splint that was too tight, cutting off circulation and unnecessary. After he saw a hand specialist today, he was advised and assured that Surgery is not needed and that the splint that was placed on his hand was idiotic and uncalled for when all he needed was a simple splint for the injured part of his hand. The Mgr., Elaine, as she breathes -- she lies. How in God's name she became Mgr. Is. Mystery. I called on 4/25 to make a complaint about their Physical Therapy dept. they said the Mgr. ELAINE, was on the phone 'she'll call you back. '. At 4pm I called back. The person answering the phone said she's out to lunch (at 4 PM) when I said I need to speak to the MGR, only she says 'this Elaine, the call was transferred.' The woman is delusional , thinking anyway would believe her. Then I said really -same voice as before, no hold on I'm transferring, unbelievable. Then I said 'I left a message for you to call me'. She then says, I just got here. Really!!! So she was probably right the first time 'she's out to lunch --- mentally that is!!!).
