I see a combination of Melanie Santiago, Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Lisa Silvotti and Dr. Diana Rocks, depending on what my issue is and who is available soonest. Melanie and Dr. Silvotti are still amazing, but Dr. Rocks is a fantastic addition to the staff. She is meticulous and careful-- checking things just to be sure, following up just to make sure you are really ok. As an example, I was recently in a pretty bad car accident wherein I probably should have died, but I walked away basically unscathed. I still had a headache and was very sore after a few days, so i went to see Dr. Rocks. She immediately forced me to go to the hospital to get my head and neck checked (did you know you can walk around with some kinds of broken necks? that with the right kind you could be fine and then get nudged by someone or stumble and die?!?!? Neither did I). The secretaries here are also awesome. They are friendly and remember you. They call when they say they will and they always give your messages to the doctors. I have rarely had to wait more than a few days for an appointment, and never more than the next day when i was very ill. I rarely spend more than 10 minutes in the waiting room (and usually only 5 or so). Which reminds me that they recently renovated the front of the office and the waiting room and check-in window are much more spacious and comfortable! As an aside that may not be relevant to most-- i work for the city, and we have byzantine regulations about using sick time-- Dr Pedano's office makes getting paid and certified sick time easy. I was very fortunate to find this office, and count my blessings that they take such great care of me!

I have a few minor health issues, nothing too serious, but when I do need help, I felt utterly discouraged bouncing from ERs to specialists with month-long waiting lists. Or worse, primary doctors who can't fit you in, and when they do see you, barely listen or put much thought into your case. If you've ever been sick, I'm sure you have experienced this- it's unfortunately the nature of our broken and disjointed medical system. This is totally different with Dr. Stumacher's office. He's engaged, listens, is very accessible by email or text, and follows up. In addition, most importantly, I feel he is an intelligent and well-qualified professional. Not all doctors are created equally, accessible or not. I try not to abuse his accessibility and only text or call if my own efforts to seek care for various reasons fall short. Recently, I called a specialist's office when I was in extreme pain for an appointment, and a rude and ill-trained receptionist informed me the next available appointment was 6 weeks away. Dr. Stumacher, acting as a true patient advocate, was able to get me an appointment the very next morning with a specialist surgeon and I had my surgery within 12 hours of asking Dr. Stumacher for help. Care like this is absolutely worth the monthly fee- insurance against the unexpected. My only worry writing this review is that the office will become too busy when " word gets out". 100 stars.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gittens and his helpful team for about two years now. I'm leaving this review two years later because the end of a year (2018) makes us think. I'm thinking about how Dr. Gittens drastically changed my life for the better. Prior to my first consultation (29 years old) I had somehow lost my libido overnight, yet it took me at least four months to realize the change. Losing a strong libido just like that affected every facet of my life - relationships with women, relationships with family and my friends, and also my interest in hobbies and socializing. I think the point I realized it was truly an issue was during an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation with my girlfriend at the time. I actively avoided anything sexual and when we did I had issues. It not only hurt her feelings thinking I am just not attracted to her, but also made me realize how serious it is that at just under thirty years old I was struggling. To put it simply, I was beyond confused and worried prior to my first consultation with Dr. Gittens. I didn't find him through a referral but instead through my own methods. I called afterward to potentially schedule an appointment and it was a good sign that his team answered the phone on my first attempt because it shows Dr. Gittens and his team run a solid medical practice and are in sync. During that first consultation Dr. Gittens asked me about myself, lifestyle, medical history, current medications, why I was here (libido), and helped establish a timeline. This was all done in his Bala office with a second monitor facing me as he was able to better explain specifics about potential causes and what we would do to restore my libido. I came out feeling good mentally and got the specific medical labs Dr. Gittens requested. My second appointment shortly after was when we took-action. We discussed the problem in greater detail and with the labs Dr. Gittens to explain his thoughts clearly and with diagrams to demonstrate some points. Although my labs came out somewhat normal, Dr. Gittens was able to think outside of the box and not dismiss me like I expect other busy doctors would. The appointment ended with me trying a new medication. It worked well for some time and without side effects. My libido was not entirely back to normal but at least I was making progress. I followed up with Dr. Gittens every few months and over the past few years we have added a few more medications (nothing too serious) and over the past few years it has increased significantly nearly to the point before I had any problems. But it's never a clear path and I guess that is where many patients give up - no matter what the person is being treated for. I trust Dr. Gittens and so we continued to adjust my medication while I also tried living a healthier lifestyle. It's a little more than week since the start of 2018 and I have had a consistent, very solid libido for at least six months now. That doesn't mean I'm done and don't need Dr. Gittens help anymore. My body will continue to change as I age and my lifestyle changes. I don't expect my current regimen to be permanent. That would be completely unrealistic when it comes to something like sexual medicine. But for the time being everything is great and when my libido inevitably changes - 1 month or 10 years from now, I'll be returning to Dr. Gittens again for help and adjustments. But at the moment I have appointments no more than four times per year. What Dr. Gittens has done to help me is life-changing. Anyone reading this might not really "get it" until it happens to them. Sexual Medicine Specialists don't grow on trees. It's a very particular type of medical field and being able to find one of the few that are great at what they do is rare. I had had several MRI's before this one in a closed machine and had been able to complete them, but it was so hot in the room, and there was no cool air blowing through, that I immediately became claustrophobic and had to leave. The place itself was old, dingy, and dirty looking, and the machine looked old. If they're going to advertise the machine as open, it should be truly open on the sides, not just on the end.
