The lady I spoke with went above and beyond the call of duty to confirm which ones I had. The reason I needed to know was the scooter had to be stored in a tool shed and the batteries cannot be left in the machine over the winter months. Around the beginning of my second semester my regular, and under control headaches turned into full on migraines, causing me severe amounts of pain, for long periods of time. Because of this all of my grades dropped below 50%, and during the last 3 weeks of school the guidance team at my school was about to pull me out of all my classes. This was not the news I wanted to be hearing so close to the end of my grade twelve year. My regular doctor, and the medicine I'd been recieving just weren't helping, so, I went to Dr. Valchar. After treatments: I saw Dr. Valchar twice a week for some time, and it was the best thing I could have done for these migraines. The emergency room at the Picton Hospital is the only game in town, but it is really too bad that…read moremany of the staff don't seem to care about patients. Maybe they are tired, overworked, whatever, but they are dealing with sick or injured people who need their help and have nowhere else to turn. As someone who cares for elderly people, I have been there a few times to accompany patients. The triage nurse is sometimes curt and even rude to the elderly. In one case, the patient tried to tell the nurse that her temperature was normally around 36 degrees, making her current temp of 37.5 higher than normal, but the nurse treated this with contempt. In another case the elderly person had a cut on her foot that needed stitches, and the student doctor became angry when the patient felt pain during the stitching process. The supervising doctor refused to come, just continued to sit at the nursing station. I myself have been there because I have been unable to find a family doctor and had a serious problem. I found that when I spoke to the triage nurse or asked a question, it was ignored as if I had not spoken. Then when I saw the doctor hours later (it was not at all busy, practically deserted), she seemed annoyed and basically made me feel like a nuisance. This doctor's lack of interest in helping me bordered on negligence, I believe. I hope this gets fixed at some point, it is not nice for the sick elderly. They deserve better care and a better attitude from medical people.
