We stumbled on Town Farm Country Market almost by accident--literally. The speed limit on White…read moreMountain Highway (Route 16) is high enough that it's easy to cruise right past without realizing it. On our last visit, that's exactly what happened, but turning around was simple, and it turned out to be well worth the minor detour. The market has that classic New England country-store feel, but it's more than just an old-fashioned stop. They really put an emphasis on homemade goods and supporting local vendors, which makes browsing the shelves a bit of an adventure. Fresh vegetables, baked goods, and locally made products line the inside, giving it the vibe of a small community hub rather than a generic roadside stop. For a quick bite, the sandwiches are perfectly sufficient--nothing fancy, but they do the job when you're on the road and just need something fast. Ice cream is another draw, especially in the warmer months, and it makes for a nice excuse to linger outside for a few minutes. Parking is plentiful, with a dedicated lot that makes pulling in and out stress-free (something you really appreciate after a few hours of driving). Outdoor seating is available too, so you don't have to rush right back into the car--you can actually enjoy a few quiet minutes off the road. One drawback worth noting: they don't have public bathrooms. Not a dealbreaker, but something to plan around if you're making it a stop during a longer drive. Overall, Town Farm Country Market is a solid choice if you're passing through the area. It's easy to miss if you're not paying attention, but once you find it, it's a welcoming little spot that checks all the boxes: local goods, fresh produce, ice cream, and a chance to stretch your legs.

I think they have a mixture of homemade and other brands, as well. Also a real family running this?! Talk about the good ole days, I love this so much!!!! THIS is what we need more of, in life!!! MORE businesses like this, please!!! Cute selections of products, too!! This is not your local walmart. Praise God. Something that is actually local and GOOD with decent flavour - I mean the whole thing, through and through!! Worth a stop just to check it out!!

ICE CREAM!! Not the best you've ever had but hits the spot for that summertime ice cream fix after dinner. There are about 30 flavors. There are picnic tables and plenty of parking. My oldest had an orange float while the other two kids in my care had kiddie (1.5 scoops) of cookies and cream and salted caramel. I went with a peanut butter caramel cookie dough flavor. I could have done without the caramel but the size was just right at 1.5 scoops. a little tip- you have to place your whole order in or step aside. where we come from ice cream shops take orders and start scooping so if I am still deciding I can wait until after the kids have theirs. Here I was told I would have to step aside and re-order along with they did forget one kids order. The staff was not friendly. They weren't rude but for a summertime ice cream place in a vacation spot they were not there for the customers! Now I am a photo lover, so I can't help but make the kids take photos in front of the beautiful Sebago postcard looking mural on the side of the building.
