Bloomfield Cooling & Heating installed my air conditioning system about 15 years ago. Since that time, I have used them for various maintenance calls with no complaints. A couple of weeks ago, my unit stopped working and I scheduled a service call. Although I was informed that the "service fee" would be higher because the call was scheduled for after 4:00 p.m., I was not informed that an overtime charge was also applied to any parts that would be needed. I was only made aware of that information after the part was installed. I was billed over $600 for that service call. A couple of days later, my AC stopped working again. The same technician came to repair but after two hours, was unable to find the problem. Finally he explained that I needed a part which had to be special ordered and that someone from his office would be in touch with me. Considering I had previously paid over $600 for service and was still without a working AC, I decided to get a second opinion. It took the new technician thirty minutes to identify and fix our AC system. I sent an email to Bloomfield Cooling informing them of my dissatisfaction. To date, I have not received a response. This is how Bloomfield Cooling chose to handle a customer of 15 years. read more

They come out and charge $125 to diagnose the problem and then don't bother to follow up or return phone calls to do the actual repair. When Bloomfield Heating Cooling installed a new heating unit 10 years ago, I was told that with this new unit it would be easy to add central air conditioning in the future. Fast forward to today : After estimates from PSEG, over 20 contractors and even a former Bloomfield Cooling and Heating employee now working as an independent service provider, I have been assured that the A/C cannot be done without tearing out the heating unit. There are no modification to use the Carrier heating system in place and add central air. Today, the first floor of my Cape Cod house is 86 and the second floor is 98. These guys deserve a mention for being untrustworthy. They installed a brand new system in the property less than a year ago with the previous owner. When we bought the house, the previous owners specifically said to ask these guys to come out to balance the equipment because it was under warranty. My husband phoned them and they said they would come out (and all we had to pay for was the filters). We said fine. The day of service, NO ONE SHOWED UP! The sales rep, Dan, was extremely rude and accused my husband of pretending to be the previous owner. 1. My husband did not do that. He merely called and provided the address. Dan did not check and verify who he was talking to. 2. He claimed he couldn't reach us to confirm the appointment because he called the previous owners who said they didn't have our number. In fact the office had call records because a lady Diane resolved the issue. 3. Later in the day, Dan called and was extremely rude and kept insisting because we are not who we said we were, as such we now had to pay for the rebalancing of the equipment. Ok so here's it. If we originally had to pay for it, why was an appointment scheduled and why was advise provided that we only have to pay for the filters (that we have no problems with). Isn't the warranty tagged to the equipment? Not who owns it? Why did it make a difference? Lastly, my advise to Bloomfield's Dan - be nice. Learn from Diane. A little more customer service goes a long way. We were prepared to go with you guys regardless whether it was free or not, until you made that phone call that was an extreme turn off. read more

The guys at Bloomfield are dishonest and treat their customers terribly, particularly the sales rep Dan. We had taken over a cooling system installed by Bloomfield and under their warranty for the year. They promised a complimentary "rebalancing" within the year and are refusing to honor it as the year is almost up. They further claimed that their promises mean nothing if it is not written into the contract. Shame on us to believe them, and not have promises written on the contract. Not sure about their work, but they park their cars all along the cul-de-sac across the street so there's no parking for the people who live there and when you ask them to move, they are terribly rude and smugly tell you that "it's a public road." Response to the owner: Yes, you had a meeting, but you had park there all the time. No one on that street has more than a two car driveway and my father was due in from work and shouldn't have to shuffle cars at night when he lives on a cul-de-sac. Here, on Google reviews, and on Facebook, you've had the opportunity to redeem yourselves. You could have apologized, said you didn't realize it was a problem, and promise to correct it going forward. You could have been the good guy in this story. Instead, you've repeated over and over that "it's a public road" and given excuses and justified being such poor neighbors. As another Facebook commented said, I judge a business based on how they represent themselves on the road and repeating "it's a public road" over and over just indicates that you'll inconvenience potential customers to the extentthat the law allows. Did you realize that my parents were customers before you started treating Cheryl Court like your private commercial lot? You've lost their business even though you are literally across the street. read more

They let me explain my entire problem and then asked if they've ever been to my house before I said I don't think so, so she looked it up and said 'no they havent' and unfortunately they were really busy with established customers. Probably could have saved theirs and my time by stating from the beginning that they were extremely busy. The attitude definitely displayed no consideration for new customers. read more

The nicest receptionist who answers the phone. And as a mechanic myself i can say extremely neat and very efficient. The crew showed up on time and Nick, Colin , Nester ,Rubin are awesome. They let me watch them work and did not mind how many questions i asked they answered everything and left me with not a worry in the world. These guys were a pleasure to deal with. It is never fun replacing a furnace, b/c it is not a cheap endeavor. The owner of the company came in and explained all my options in detail. They give 3 proposals, one for each budget with a good, better and best option. Very friendly and seemed to have done good work. Also very flexible regarding follow up visits to review the system. Only 1 complaint....they left my gate open when they left, and my dog got out. Not a big deal, but make sure to remind them to close the gate when finished. read more

Made an appointment with this company over a month ago. Supposed to be there at 4 pm. I left work early to meet the tech. After 4:30 pm I decided to call and check on arrival time. That's when I found out that the tech was still at an appt. and had 2 people ahead of me. When I commented on the fact that he wouldn't be here til 7:30 - 8 p.m. the answer was, yeah, it is what it is. Really? How about some communication, a phone call to let the customer know that the tech is running late. A better response than, yeah oh well or it is what it is. Then the next available appt. was not for another 6 weeks out. What's worse is that they sent me the post card with their special $99 to check your system, they're the one looking for business. This company came to my house and replaced a part in the air conditioning unit. They mentioned at the time that we should buy a maintenance plan. We said ok. We were told that we had to wait for the office to call us the next day and we could sign up at the time. They never called. Our air-conditioning is still not working. They came back out and said that we have to pay a service fee to have a filter changed but if we had the maintenance plan it would be free. We tried to buy the maintenance plan again and we received the same answer that we had to wait for someone to call us. This is absolutely horrible customer service. I would not recommend this company. I am now looking for a reliable air conditioning repair company. read more

I had an awful experience with this company yesterday. We had a very simple repair that needed to be made. The PVC exhaust line was clogged. Fixing it is very easy. You use a nitrogen cartridge to blow out the clog. It takes about 10 minutes. They charged us over $500! A total rip off. They charge $125 just for the technician to drive to your house. That fee does not get applied to cost of your repairs. It's just an additional fee. They charged over $100 to "clean out the drip pan" which, I can only imagine, requires them to use a towel to soak up an excess water in the try. They also charged us for a system diagnostic which we did not ask for. read more

At a loss as to how this outfit received any good reviews. A few years back, we used them several times to service our two units. We trusted they were doing their job properly and did not follow them around the house. We began having trouble with the units -couldn't get Bloomfield Cooling over and hired Air Group. We found at that time, the filters had not been cleaned in what looked like years and there was mold. They guy had been going up to our attic and just standing there-he didn't clean anything. Additionally -Bloomfield charged us for Freon-which was very expensive-approximately $200.00 each year-I naively paid for the freon as they told me it was necessary, "It was very low". Btw, these units were not old. I trusted they knew what they were doing. When I called them and asked to speak to someone, I was put off and received no answers as to why the units had been improperly serviced . Air Group came and had a 15 point maintenance check, cleaned up the filters and mold. Bloomfield Cooling was at our 3,500 sq ft house for less then 30 minutes when they did the yearly service-AirGroup takes two hours to do yearly maintenance. read more

Based on the reviews on the website I called for service for my mother in-law's house on June 23, 2016, however, I was very disappointed in the technician Santine Aponte that came to the house. The technician was not professional and less than courteous when I asked about the work that needed to be done. At the completion of the service call he started yelling at my in-laws loud enough where the next door neighbor came out to see what was wrong. My in-laws are over 80 years old and don't understand English very well. Since my wife and I were not there, we told him that the office had taken the credit card information, and he should not be asking my in-laws for any money. I think he was agitated that he had to work late and was taking in out on my in-laws. We had asked for a manager to call us, but he never did as of today. Very disappointed with the company and how they operate. Will not call this company again for service! read more
