Another fantastic job by KB. Needed our smoke detectors upgraded throughout the house. A lot of smoke detectors, at least 2 different systems. I appreciate very much that kb came in to do an estimate and thoroughly scoped out the job before delivering an accurate estimate. I also appreciate that they were completely prepared with new smoke detectors and the right crew when they came back to do the job: no running out to the supplier or ordering a part on job day. His office called me immediately to set up an appointment. Hector & Marlon arrived and put down plastic tarps and moved all furniture to protect it. I called KB Electric early this morning and the office they told me that their technician Hector would be able to be at our apartment between 9:30 and 11:00. Hector called and was at our door at 9:30! He was able to replace our inoperable light fixtures with new ones! I HIGHLY recommend this company!! Everything from start to finish was perfect. We called another electrician, left a message but never got a call back (which, from what I understand is normal). We found KB Electric online and decided to give them a try. The phone was answered immediately by Alicia who was so helpful, listened to what we needed done and set up an appointment for us immediately, which we were so grateful for. The electric wire going into the house was hanging very low and we realized the attachment on the house (for lack of a better explanation) was hanging off the house. Alicia asked us to send photos and I did with a comment" didn't realize how bad it was". Her response was "I've seen worse" so right off the bat she made me feel better. She asked if we wanted her to send someone to give us a quote, but we didn't want to waste time on that so said no. She quoted us how much it would be per hour (+ materials) and we were very happy with the final price (we felt very reasonable). The 2 electricians were here at 8:30 on a day when it was below 20 degrees!! They did a great job and were in/out in a little over an hour. My house almost burnt down and I needed an electric, emergency 9-1-1! Called KB Electric and they responded promptly. Rectified one problem but another problem arise and they needed to come back. Called for an appointment and they wanted to come Monday. I advised them ones going away for the weekend and the seriousness of the issue. They made room in the schedule and came the next day. Found numerous issues and fixed the issues. Came back the next day and checked every outlet and switch to make sure the problem was fixed. Great response and fixing the issue. Saved me and my house. I can't say enough positive things about KB Electric. Doing my due diligence, I made three phone calls to electricians for estimates. KB Electric was the only one that returned my call. I've had the great pleasure of working with Alicia to schedule work to be done which included securing permits. The permit process was more difficult than it needed to be and Alicia was there every step of the way. She worked diligently to secure the information the town inspector requested from PSE&G and communicated with the town to ensure the information was received and the permit issued, all the while keeping me updated throughout. I've always called KB through the years for any electrical needs I have. This time I had a bunch of needs! Egan, Orlando, and Sherwin helped replace all of our old "knob and tube" electrical wires... This was old electric wiring from the late 1800s. It was not exactly a project that I was looking forward to. The team, lead by Egan, were so very professional. They were on time every morning. They worked much quicker than I expected. They were efficient, and the whole project cost considerably less than I had anticipated. Everything was done just right. Egan was a great communicator. I spoke with Alicia, who was fantastic, and she had Romero come by to discuss the work to be done, and they provided a reasonable quote a couple of days later. We scheduled the work, and Egan and Orlando came by a few days later. They recommended and installed a new outlet and breaker for an air conditioner and also fixed two small but longstanding (and annoying) electrical outlet problems in a bathroom. We wrapped up a big project in our home that included upgrading our service to 200amp, installing a car charger, and several other electrical items in the house. We recently had KB electric fix a serious electrical issue in our home. Hector, the electrician that came out, not only fixed a very complicated electrical issue in our older home but he provided a thorough explanation of the problems with our current electrical panel, and wiring in our kitchen which did not adequately support the voltage. He also found that we had a phantom electrical current, which made it difficult to diagnose the issue. Luckily for us, Hector was able to diagnose and actually fix the underlying issues with our wiring within a few hours, We are happy to have our kitchen lights back on and also have peace of mind that we will not run into the same issues again. It seems like so many general contractors and their subs do piecemeal work to collect your money and move on to the next gig, and we were victims of that. We had the entire house rewired with a service upgrade from a 100 amp to a 200 amp with a 100 amp sub panel in the attic. It was a very large job. Darwin was the lead and Joe and Victor were part of the crew. They were always on time, clean and professional. Our house was not a gut renovation. We were still living in the house while the work was being done. The holes they cut to run fresh wire were clean, small and precise. We had an open dialogue so if any questions needed answering we were able to communicate to get them what thy needed in real time without any of the work being stopped or slowed.
