I flubbed up the payment info, recognizing my error, contacted Bloomfield's by email, and was promptly and pleasantly assisted to correct my error. I later had a couple more questions and again received prompt responses by Miranda. The delivered arrangement is gorgeous and I am completely happy with my order. On Friday, I received the Mother's day flowers " Posey flowers in a jar" -- very disappointing. On arrival, the carnation was badly wilted. The flowers lasted until Sunday- most wilted with petals dropping. I have bought flowers before from Bloomfields on Wellington and never had a problem. This bouquet had substandard flowers and was truly disappointing to receive for such a special day. read more

I am currently enjoying two bouquets from Bloomfield's that I received for my birthday a week ago. Both of them are lasting beautifully and are so pretty and unique. The arrangements from Bloomfield's always include stunning colours and combinations that are striking and never look like a typical 'Teleflora' arrangement. I send all of my Ottawa flower deliveries from Bloomfield's. But if you want a real treat, go and visit the stores - either the original one on Bank St. or the new shop in Westboro. The store front in the Glebe makes you want to sweep in and gather up an armful of farm-fresh blooms (available in-season from the local family farm). Bloomfields flower shop in the Glebe is a place that makes me feel happy just peeking in the window. Note to self - peek in the window more often. As you can tell from the $ signs above, the gorgeous bouquets come at a cost. In fact, there is nothing "cheap" in any sense about this elegant place - and at the same time it has a wonderful neighborly feel - the staff are helpful and friendly, I can walk around and pick up a simple spray or two of some unusual delight, wrap it up with greenery and be out of there with only a few dollars less in my pocket and my endorphins buzzing for days. Value for money wise, the bouquets I ordered were sizable and well-selected. Unfortunately, the hydrangeas in one of the bouquets died the following day. I have no clue how the other fared but was none too pleased at the thought that the near stranger I brought them to would have dead flowers on her hands. I know I should have followed up at the store to explain the situation, but the two women working were rude and unhelpful and I didn't want to deal with them again. I was carrying two bouquets in boxes and no one offered to even open the door for me. Money better spent elsewhere. read more

Wow! Finally, a beautiful, fresh, classy florists in Ottawa! The flowers I ordered for my mother's birthday were lovely and they included the orange and red accents I had requested, which was fabulous. The flowers themselves were obviously fresh and well arranged. The ordering process was quick and easy and the flowers arrived in a lovely glass vase that was carefully wrapped in a moist box and covered in a plastic wrap. I was looking for a florist for my wedding next year, and I found Bloomfields website online and I really liked their work. So I made a phone call on Tuesday morning at 10am right after they opened and asked if we could come in for a wedding consult. We mentioned that we are from out of town, and we only had 2.5days to spare in Ottawa to check out flower vendors. The person on the phone informed us that the flower designer was with other customers at that time, but she promised that she would let the designer know and promised that she'd call us back within the hour. We waited for a whole day and never got a reply. I decided to give them another chance and called the next morning, a guy on the phone seemed to know about my first phone call the day before and informed me again, the designer was not around at that time. He too promised that he would let the designer know ASAP and make her call us the first thing that afternoon, the first thing after lunch. Unfortunately, we didn't receive the promised phone call until the following day 2pm. And by that time, we have already been to 4 other florist appointments, and Bloomfields is out of the game BIG TIME. I understand that it's last minute inquiry, and I understand that if they simply tell us no, and tell us that they are too busy to talk to us. But what I can't stand is when vendors don't deliver what they promised, even for a prompt phone call. It's just a warning sign that tells me to stay away from this particular florist. When you plan something big like a wedding, you really need someone that you can trust and rely on. The least you want is to wait anxiously for them to call you to finalize things and stuff. read more
