The owner had her pet baby goat in the store, which was absolutely adorable and made the whole experience even more fun. She let me pet and hold her, and the little goat was incredibly friendly. She kept trying to eat all of the flowers in the store, which had everyone laughing! Since it was the Lavender Festival, they had a wonderful selection of lavender products, including soaps, salves, hand creams, and candles. Everything is locally sourced and organic, and the scents were amazing--so relaxing and fresh. I ended up bringing home some lavender soap and hand cream. They also carry beautiful jewelry, necklaces, rings, knickknacks, DIY bouquet kits, and small floral arrangements that are both lovely and inexpensive. There are so many cute, locally made treasures throughout the shop, all with a charming farmhouse vibe. This is such a fun place to browse, shop local, and take pictures. We drove in completely unaware that we were about to discover what would become our gemstone, our true getaway. The property is deeply tranquil and serene. Evenings are spent around fire pits with a glass of wine, surrounded by silence except for the sounds of nature. We've baked apple pies from their orchard, enjoyed endless peaceful nights under the stars, and--by the generous allowance of the property owners--explored the land on their ATV simply to wander and take it all in. What truly sets this place apart is the people. Linda and her husband Jim make you feel like family. When I call and say I need a getaway, they always find a way--even during blackout dates. That kind of care is rare and meaningful. Trisha, who maintains the property, is phenomenal, and the grounds are always immaculate. This is a very, very gorgeous retreat tucked right in the middle of Placerville, yet it feels worlds away. Part of me wants to keep it a secret--but it deserves to be known. Drove by this place and saw they were open. We decided to drop in. To our surprise, it's beautiful!!! Colorful Irises everywhere. There's parking available, cute bathrooms, wedding/reception area, bbq area, a beautiful pond, stairs, a few tables with chairs to have a small picnic and just enjoy the scenery, just gorgeous here. Absolutely gorgeous. I loved it here. The lady who lives here and grows these Irisrs is so sweet. We ended up buying two Irises from her. They are just too beautiful. I will come here again just to get away from the city and enjoy some peace and quiet.

We had taken a picture of the area we wanted to revamp, and showed him the picture, giving him wide latitude to make suggestions. We gave him some ideas of what we liked. He proceeded to fumble through the nursery, having no real ideas or suggestions. After much prompting, we finally came up with a plant idea. He said he had some in back. After a long pause, my wife suggested we see the plants. He said "no, they're way back there." Apparently not willing to make the 50 yard trek to these plants. He came up with a few alternatives, which we agreed sounded nice. He then informed us he didn't carry them. We asked if we could pay ahead and order the plants, he simply suggested we come back in a few weeks and see if he had them in stock. This guy could not have been less interested in selling us anything in his nursery, and lost out of a big sale because of it. Simply lazy and disinterested would be the best way to describe him. If he doesn't care, neither do we. We went to another local nursery in Auburn and spent our money there. They took one look at the pictures and came up with hundreds of ideas for us to choose from, and could not have been more helpful. I will not return to this nursery, it's people like this that make it impossible to shop local. A huge disappointment.
