Do not take your pets here if you expect your concerns to be listened to or your animal to be…read moretreated with caution and compassion. I am extremely disturbed and disappointed by my experience at Juno Veterinary with Dr. Lam. We originally came in for a follow-up appointment regarding my dog Blizzard's eye injury, not for vaccinations. Yet the focus of the appointment quickly shifted away from the actual issue we came in for and heavily toward vaccines and parasite prevention products. Before any vaccines were administered, I specifically told the doctor multiple times that I did NOT believe Blizzard's medical records from our previous veterinarians were complete yet and that I was unsure whether he was actually due. Instead of listening to my concerns or waiting for proper verification, I was made to feel like a negligent and irresponsible pet owner simply for questioning the recommendations. The pressure during the appointment was extremely overwhelming. The way vaccines and parasite prevention were pushed made it feel as though declining or waiting would mean I was failing my dog, despite me clearly communicating uncertainty about his records. The vaccines were administered anyway without giving me a proper opportunity to confirm his full medical history first. After the appointment, Blizzard became lethargic and unwell enough that I had to contact the clinic in distress. As an owner, it was terrifying watching my dog react poorly after receiving vaccines he ultimately did not even need at that time. What makes this even more unacceptable is that the clinic later admitted in writing that the Bordetella and Leptospirosis vaccines were NOT actually due until September 2026. In other words, unnecessary medical treatment was administered while my concerns about incomplete records were ignored. Instead of taking meaningful accountability afterward, the clinic's response focused heavily on protecting itself and emphasizing "consent," while completely ignoring the imbalance of power between a worried owner and a veterinary professional. Pet owners trust veterinarians to exercise caution and proper judgment, especially when records are incomplete and concerns are directly raised. That did not happen here. This entire experience left me feeling like profit and upselling vaccines mattered more than listening to concerns about my dog's actual condition or ensuring his records were properly verified first. At no point did I feel heard, respected, or supported as an owner trying to advocate for my dog. I left this experience feeling pressured, dismissed, judged, and completely betrayed by a clinic I trusted with my dog's care. The lack of compassion and accountability afterward only made the situation worse. I will be escalating this matter further because no pet should be overdosed and no pet owner should be placed in this position.

I've used the virtual option several times for various minor issues. Response times are pretty much immediate and I've always been provided excellent information. I've saved a lot of money avoiding having to go into any [emergency] clinic and seeing a vet for these concerns. All the staff I've interacted with, either front of house, vet techs, vets, etc., they've all been friendly and welcoming towards all pets and humans alike. The costs are always explained upfront and you can decide how to proceed. I appreciate the transparency. If your insurance company is Trupanion, submissions are direct and you'll know if you have to pay or not. There is a beverage bar with hot and cold drinks for the people. There are water bowls and treatos for the furries. 5 stars. They're excellent! I can't wait for more locations!

The support staff is extremely professional and accommodating. I even had a technician offer (and they did it!) to drop off prescription dog food to my house on their way home from work! It's admirable the way they extend their passion for this job. I have always seen Dr.Hume with my animals, and she continues to be the most caring and detailed vet. We unfortunately had a couple of issues with our dog while Dr. Hume was away; but the technicians and reception took over and got her in to see the other vets. The communication and dedication in this clinic, is just amazing. I can't really say enough about this place. I trust them very much with my "kids" . I truly only write this review again because my animals mean the world to me. I wouldn't trust them with just anyone. Well down #IVAH

Upon purchasing a puppy she was taken to this clinic as it was mistakenly selected to be the go-to vet for her. Upon the first visit for a complete puppy checkup, the findings came back that she was healthy and had no issue or heart murmurs. The vet didn't even bother to offer to do any blood work or any X-rays. Fast forward to the next appointment a month after, on the Tuesday, which was for DHPP booster shots only, they gave it as well as an extra "recommended" shot to which we never requested or wanted. The next day she began throwing up and defecating diarrhea and sleeping all day. This is a puppy that was completely happy and playful, eating well and having very good stool. We took her back here, to which they held her for two days pumping fluids into her and giving her other medications. Each time she came out of there she was progressively worse and worse and they gave absolutely no answers other than to "come back again tomorrow". On the following Saturday, which was the weekend of the Thanksgiving long weekend, they sent her home with more medications and said to come back on Tuesday when they re-open. At this point she was having trouble breathing and it was clear that she is not just having a reaction to the shots. They never even bothered to refer her to somewhere that can do afterhours or long weekend care in case something had happened, they were only interested in adding up the invoice. Keep in mind we are now $700 into an issue that arose after they gave her shots. Not once was blood work or X-ray scans offered. Not once. We decided to take her to the afterhours emergency vet immediately following as she evidently wouldn't make it through the night. $2100 later at the emergency hospital it turned out her lungs were filled with fluid from the IV fluids given and her kidneys had failed. They also confirmed a heart murmur, one that was not reported at her initial checkup. They also confirmed in their report that there was negligence and lack of due diligence on the clinics part in entirety. She went into complete acute renal failure. We had to put her down at midnight on the Saturday. Today is Tuesday, which is the day they were expecting us to bring her in. Guess what, they didn't even call today! Stay away from this "veterinary clinic". They don't even let you step inside so that you don't see what's going on. They do consultations over the phone and you can hear dogs screaming in the background. Don't be fooled by the other reviews because almost every client standing outside is always upset at some negligence of theirs. I even overheard that they gave another dog the wrong medications for 2 weeks.

I was referred by a local vet to Dr. Saundra Hewitt at the West Toronto Veterinary Surgery office. I found Dr. Hewitt to be extremely friendly and showed a very genuine care and concern for my dog. She examined him, asked me all kinds of questions related to his activity level, his eating habits, etc. and then took great care in explaining to me what he was experiencing with his knee. She said that although she could correct his knee with surgery, it wasn't really necessary at this stage, especially given the uncomfortable recovery. It's so refreshing to have a surgeon really consider the dog first, rather than just say, "He needs surgery" just because it CAN be an option. The cost of surgery is always a consideration, of course, and if you aren't prepared for it, can really be an issue for some. Nobody wants to fork over thousands of dollars for something that isn't absolutely necessary, so I was really relieved to hear that my dog would be fine without surgery. In the couple of weeks since my appointment with Dr. Hewitt, my dog has recovered very nicely, from which she suggested was more than likely just a bad sprain. The knee condition was more of an underlying issue that he can live with comfortably for many more years. My dog is now back to his normal self, walking and running around like he used to.

I was also told the infection most likely came from the breeder. Based on this information, I was advised to pursue emergency hospitalization costing $7,500-$10,000, or attend daily visits costing $700-$900 each, with multiple diagnostics repeatedly described as "just in case." I declined hospitalization but felt intense pressure. Later that same night, I received the written test results showing the repeat parvovirus test was negative. After reviewing the manufacturer's interpretation guide (provided by the clinic), the first test appearance also matched a negative result. I subsequently sought an independent veterinary opinion and was told my puppy did not have parvovirus, and that her rapid improvement was inconsistent with an active infection. The clinic refunded only the recheck visit as a "courtesy" but declined responsibility for the initial visit, despite the discrepancy between verbal communication and documented results. I am sharing this because the emotional distress, financial pressure, and conflicting information had serious consequences for me. I would strongly encourage pet owners to ask for written results, explanations, and second opinions before making urgent and expensive decisions here. I personally would not return.
