Today I decided to to move forward with the decision to find my daughter therapy to deal with her anxieties. I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Starr. Although we have not yet been approved by our insurance to get coverage, I know this is the Dr. I would go with. I'm looking forward to seeing her help in the near future. Stay tuned!

Brainspotting is a kind of therapy that uses eye positioning to process difficult emotions and unresolved traumatic experiences. Alicia was AMAZING. It was my 1st time doing Brainspotting and it felt very vulnerable, even though we were on Zoom. I cried quite a bit as it brought up complicated emotions. Alicia was so warm and patient with me as I got comfortable with this new way of doing therapy. You can tell she really loves her work and helping people. The next thing I really want to try is Ketamine assisted therapy with Alicia. That is a type of therapy you would want to do with someone completely trustworthy- and Alicia would definitely be that person for me. It is very cool that she is trained in so many different kinds of therapy and has KAP on offer. She might have a waitlist- but do yourself a favor and get on it! I highly recommend Alicia Taverner at Rancho Counseling if you are seeking any type of therapy or self healing.

Then the intensive was over. Alicia said she welcomed feedback. My feedback is that it ended abruptly right when our time was up and left hanging. I would've expected the last session to have been more productive & professional. When I expressed my feedback to her she apologized and said she was under the "impression" that we were going to continue on after the intensive during the 15 minute consultation. That completely threw me for a loop because the only conversation we had regarding the sessions were pricing. After she mentioned that, I was done. I have zero respect for her because I believe it was calculated and manipulative on her end. I believe she left us hanging intentionally so we would feel like we have to continue on with her extremely overpriced and underwhelming practice. If she were truly professional, she would've communicated efficiently and asked my husband and I directly if we were planning on continuing beyond the intensive in our first session, or at least at the beginning of our second/last one. My take away.... unethical and no integrity.

I had a person experience with him where i was the only one to show up during a mens group and just needed someone to vent to. That made me feel weird and then he went on to tell the entire class that i had came in distraught and suicidal with out any regard for how i might feel about it. I hadn't had many interactions with them, until the last few months when I contacted them multiple times because they stopped sending me reminder texts. For months, the day before reminders weren't arriving, and it actually caused me to miss appointments. I begged them to fix it. Nothing. Finally they escalate to tech support after like 5 months of this, and they find some weird thing wrong that still hadn't been fixed. Therapist says he's changing offices, and gave me options for moving forward. I wanted to stay with him, and he told me that I could expect some contact person changes and stuff in my email. Pretty straightforward. Then they (the old office) called me today, telling me that they're calling because of my appointment next week. They inform me that Landon is no longer with them (OK), and then.... tell me they will assign me a new therapist or I can pick one from their roster. Um WHAT. As if my therapist, who I have a longstanding conversation and rapport with now, is a spare tire to be changed out at need. I'm pretty stable at the moment, but that could really rock someone's boat if they weren't prepared for it and maybe not ready to hold their ground and advocate for themselves I will have no reason to field their calls again and I'm good with that.

Save yourself the stress, money and disappointment, find somewhere else to get your child therapy…read more I made the mistake of using their "services" at the detriment of my son. They have beyond strict "call out" policies that is only applicable to the client and not their employees. Also, the "therapist" they sent to my house reeked of marijuana and when I called the BCBA to discuss my concerns her suggestion was for me to send a code word to her if I felt that the "therapist" was under the influence. Also, this company will nickel and dime you and charge you for days where their employees where a no show. Trying to get this corrected has been a complete and utter nightmare. Also there "therapists" only need to take a 40 hour online course to be authorized to provide "services." These individuals are not credentialed and when I asked about what this person's background was I was told it was confidential. This person perpetuated more issues in my house than they solved. In fact, she turned my home into a place my kids did not want to be. This place is terrible, avoid at all costs. Trust me. I don't write a lot of reviews but felt the need to warn the public.

Not to mention most of the BT's there look 17 to 22 ( They do not drug test employees) so someone can go smoke a blunt put some eye drops in and take care of my disabled child come on now most of them look like they don't even have kids. They're nice, but that doesn't mean they're qualified to take care of your children let alone special needs children that sometimes lash out or get aggressive .I heard a lot of bad things about ABA and I wanted to try it myself. This was just my personal experience so far honestly, I just feel like it was a glorified daycare with glorified babysitters and my son needs more than that I'm looking into OT and speech therapy and possibly a different ABA! Just do your research don't feel pressured into putting your kid into this program full-time ( like me) make sure you ask all the right questions and you meet all the BTs that will be caring for your child. A lot of people tell me you can request in the home sessions to where you can be present, but of course they never offer that to me. Texted them that it was unacceptable and I Never took my son back because I just didn't feel right about it and they didn't reply to me so unprofessional I'm glad I only had my son there for 3 weeks or before he got really badly injured.. follow your mommy instincts! Look around before committing and if u do remember u can take ur child out at ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON!! It's your right
