I was visiting Dublin from the US on a business trip. Really grateful that a colleague told me on the first day that her Dyson Air Wrap didn't work in the hotel. Apparently the US versions aren't compatible in Europe, even with a converter. I have naturally curly hair, admittedly nice curly hair, but I blow it out because I don't have time to care for it properly. Thank goodness this place was around the block from my hotel. There were plenty of appointments available and my wash/blowout came out great. Stylist was speedy and knew how to give some loose curls and body without hot tools. My ends usually frizz on day 2-3 but it lasted well beyond that. Very very grateful we were neighbors! read more

While staying in Dublin I wanted to get a quick blow out since I have tape in extensions and hate drying my own hair. As a walk in, I only had to wait 10 minutes which was great! The gentleman who washed my hair was kind and funny. Two guys wound up drying my hair (it takes a village with long extensions) so it really only took about 20 minutes. I didn't love the outcome, it was very flat and the way they dried it you can see almost all my top extensions. If I had more time I might have asked for them to fix it. I would go here again, I would just be very specific as to what I want and remind them of the point of hiding the extensions. read more

Was in need of a haircut while visiting Dublin. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel I was staying at - The Intercontinental Dublin" had their own hair salon in the basement! Perfect, super convenient. I booked an appointment online which was super easy and simple. I got a confirmation early in the morning. I showed up after a 2 minute walk...not bad for a commute!! The hair dresser was professional and focused. She was friendly too. She did a great job!! I highly recommend coming here for a last minute in need of a haircut. read more

I'm staying at the Clayton Hotel Burlington for work and I totally fried my hair dryer! I didn't know what to do! The team at Blow was able to take care of everything! The worst service I've ever received. I'm not even fussy! Dirty salon, with cracked tiles and hair everywhere. The sinks smelled of stale dirty water, as did the towels. My hair was washed very roughly with cold water, then roasting hot water. The woman's nails and rings painfully tore the backs of my ears! The same woman was on the front desk, and ordered me to 'sit down' repeatedly, when I complained that I'd been there an hour and my hair looked terrible. I left in right state, late for dinner, upset and looking nothing like myself. She demanded €29 for the 'service' and sneered at me. Never, ever go here - better service and value elsewhere. I searched online to find a place that had reasonably priced blow outs. I came about a week early to explore Ireland before a work conference, and need to get my hair washed and blown out professionally (my airbnb didn't have a good shower) from all the hiking and exploring and wind and rain. I came in as a walk in and they saw me immediately which was great. They really focus on getting you in and out, which is pretty rad. It's not impersonal, they just get it that you might have places to be and don't want to be there all day. After my shampoo, two stylists blow dried my hair at the same time. Now that's efficient! They had a special running for Mondays and Tuesday was a $30 blow out. My hair looked great when I left. Perfectly tamed in time for work. read more

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for Blow and almost cancelled my first appointment, but I am glad I didn't. I have been to blow 3 times now for curly blow dries and every time have been very impressed. Two of the times I had to get my hair done in the morning for an evening event and they even helped me to put my hair up in a way that would preserve the style. Overall they were quick and professional. they are experts of the curly blow dry and every time I have been in and out within 40 minutes. I would not go here for a spa day or to feel pampered, but for a quick and well-done style, this is the place to go. I also saw them disinfecting the brushes and sweeping while I was there which made me confident it was clean. Last time, I got my makeup done here as well and they did a great job. The process was relaxing and the cluster lashes they applied looked natural and stayed on throughout the night. I managed to get my hair and makeup done in an hour and a half. Got my first appointment there, will never go back! I had booked an eyebrow threading and shape and colour manicure. The same woman took care of both, and she was really sloppy. The threading: she didn't get me a mirror for me to check my eyebrows when she was done, and when I got home, I checked them up and she had left a lot of hair that I had to finish plucking out myself. Then, the nails: she didn't ask what shape I wanted, left a lot of cotton fibers which got caught up in the polish AND completely botched one of my fingers. She left me while my nails were drying up, and as she wasn't coming back, I had to ask one of her colleagues to fix them for me. Note that a lot of other women were getting their nails done at the same time, and the girls taking care of them seemed to be much better that the one who took care of me. Poor experience overall - rushed in and had to tell the hairdresser over and over what I wanted (simple curly blow dry that would stay in my straight hair). The experience was stressful and my hair feels dry and burnt. Salon is dirty and staff argumentative when I complained. Absolutely would not recommend. read more

Went in for a cut and style. As several people have mentioned it's kind of a no frills place, but to me that's not important if they do a good job. My stylist (I think her name was Rosa) was quiet but got the job done. I showed her a couple of pictures, and she gave me exactly what I asked for, which rarely happens! I also loved the curly blow dry. I have natural curl to my hair and usually get it blown straight at salons, because the few times I asked for it curly I walked out looking like I stuck my finger in the electric socket. This time it was lovely loose curls and very polished looking. Will definitely come back here! read more

I booked Blow to get my hair and make-up done for my graduation as it was the only place I could find that was open early enough for my time frame. The blow dry was good, I was happy with the results. It was fast and affordable. However, the make up was a complete disappointment. Firstly, the used none of the brands that they claimed to use on their website (MAC, Bobbi Brown) and instead used cheap, drugstore products such as Bourjois. I also asked the "MUA" to do a nude smokey eye, instead I got a black shadow nearly up to my eyelid. I had to fix my make up myself afterwards as I was so disappointed with the results. In all, I would recommend the blow dry salon but stay clear of the make up, for your own benefit. I found it to be a waste of money. read more

Used the Ballsbridge location. Prompt service, great hair wash followed by blow dry that delivered exactly what I asked for. Very pleasant team. I tried some fake eyelashes but my eyes had other ideas and they could not have been nicer about it. Good quality, good prices. read more

When I went to Blow Leeson St to get my nails done the Polish woman who did my nails was lovely and did a really good job. It was a Tuesday, and in their window it says that Mon&Tue shellac nails are only 18 euros. The lady at the counter tried to overcharge me the full price, 23 euros and I had to correct her. When I went to remove the shellac nails, this Irish woman who really did not want to be there took care of me. Maybe she wasn't even someone who usually does the shellac nails, who knows. She had the patience to file the nails in one of my hands but not the other. She was obviously waiting for a thanks afterwards but I didn't say anything and she looked even more pissed off and bored than she did when I got to the salon. Again, the lady at the counter tried to overcharge me and asked me 10 euros though before I had confirmed that it's 5 euros if you have had your nails done in the same salon. Be careful when you go there. Also, the salon is very dirty, the paint is coming off the walls, it's cold and the chairs upstairs are uncomfortable, especially in the room where they do your nails. I booked a Brazilian Blowout at the salon. I have thick curly hair and wanted to get rid of the frizz but retain the curl. I arrived at the salon and was taken to have my hair washed. There was no conversation with a stylist, no consultation on what treatment I needed (I've since discovered that this is an important part of the process). After the wash, I was taken to a chair for the treatment. The stylist didn't speak one word to me, just started applying cream to my hair. After about ten minutes I asked her to explain what was happening, and also told her that I absolutely didn't want my hair straight, and wanted to retain the wave in my hair. She assured me that my hair would still be wavy. Once the treatment was finished, my hair was dead straight, really flat against my head, with no body or life to it. I said I wasn't happy with the result and she just got her coat and left. The person I assumed to be the manager came along and actually told me my hair wasn't straight! I was ver upset, and so they washed my hair again and tried to style some curl into it, but I could see the stylist was struggling. In the end I left with a slight bit of curl in my hair, which was gone by the time I got home. After some research I have discovered that the stylist had overheated my hair, which is why it is so flat and lifeless. I hate my hair, there is nothing I can do with it, and I'm stuck with it like this for 3 months! read more

Went here for a pedicure before my beach holiday. The place I usually go to did not have any appointments available the week before so I was looking for an alternative. The price for a pedicure was 40 Eur (which is cheaper than the place I usually go to). The salon has like 3 floors and they seem to be specialised in hairdressing as 2 of them are for hairdressing. However they offer all sorts of beauty services as well. The pedicure chair was on the top floor in a corner and the furniture/equipment seemed old and randomly cobbled together. I also think they are lacking hygiene procedures which is a must for me when getting a pedicure.. as in the beautician would just use her fingers/gloves to take cream/scrub out of the big jar instead of some disposable wooden stick. She also went with the same gloves to see the next client for a spray tan. Generally I think that the whole nailcare floor needs some refurbishment and the staff needs more training in terms of hygiene.That being said.. the pedicure was well done, the beautician was very friendly and I did get a last-minute appointment. I would definitely prefer to pay more and get a proper treatment somewhere else - but I'd also go again if I can't get an appointment elsewhere. read more

I went for a wash, cut and blow dry in this salon and was not impressed. It cost 55 Euro which is average for a nice salon. Blow is NOT nice it is FILTHY, the salon was DIRTY. The floor was muddy (the place is small). The chairs were dirty and not appropriate salon chairs (not height adjustable).There was hair on the floor (I was in early!). The staff were really unprofessional and did not appear trained. One of the staff members who was cutting hair announced she was an Au pair! My hair actually turned out fine but she took 2 hours as she didn't seem to know what she was at. A lucky escape I reckon but I would not go back and would certainly not recommend for a cut. This is the worst salon I have ever been to IN MY LIFE. I went here prior to my graduation - which as you know, is a day when a lot of photos are taken. Booked in for hair and makeup and ended up looking and feeling like CRAP. Paid 55 euro for GHD curls which had gone flat within an hour of getting them done. My mother got her hair curled also and the same thing happened to her. The staff are rude and abrupt and spend minimal time and effort on the customers. The salon is grotty and dirty and loud - no relaxing atmosphere at all. Getting my makeup done, another member of staff kept coming in and out of the room and interrupting the girl doing my make up which resulted in her getting mascara all over my cheek. So unprofessional and please guys, if you have an important event or occasion do not go here - because you will regret it and end up looking and feeling horrible. Sorry about the brutal review but it had to be done - so unhappy with how I look in my grad photos and the only people I have to blame for that are those at BLOW SALON. read more

I had been going to Blow for four years to get my hair done and had been a loyal customer until my experience last week. On the 14th of April 2016, I returned to their Richmond Street branch the day before I was to graduate and asked the colourist for the same colour that I always get. She showed me the colours, which looked similar to what I had always gotten, and continued to put them in my hair. When she washed my hair and took off the towel I commented that my hair looked quite red, which never usually happened. I mentioned this again once my hair was dry, to which she responded that it was just the lighting in the salon and that in the daylight it would be my usual colour. She said that many customers say this, but it was simply the lighting in the salon. Within a few days, after washing my hair 3 times, I noticed that the colour was still a red-ish colour. I rang Blow and said that I felt that the wrong colour had been put in my hair. I spoke to the manager in the Leeson street branch and she looked at my file and commented that a 'Luminol' (probably incorrect term) had been put in my hair and that she wondered why this happened as my previous application had been a different product and colour. They invited me back to have my hair fixed complementary. When I arrived and had a consultation, I showed my stylist a picture of my hair taken the day after I had gotten it coloured six months previously. He commented that the colour I not had in was completely different. He set about explaining how they could fix it so that it would be the original colour that I had requested. I was told that in order to fix my hair, which had already cost me €100, I would have to pay an additional €70. I said I would pay the €70 but felt that it was very bad customer service as the colour I had requested had not been put into my hair originally, and so I was paying for a mistake made by the salon. I was visibly upset, and went to the bathroom. When I returned, my stylist told me they did not have the time to fix my hair that evening and as I was upset, he would contact me on Saturday regarding fixing my hair free of charge. I said that it was fine and I would go elsewhere to get it fixed, but he insisted and took my number. I did not hear from the salon on Saturday. On Sunday morning I rang to speak to the owner who was not present, and instead spoke to the manager at length. I asked specifically why the colour I asked for was not put in my hair, to which she responded that it was not on file, I questioned why it was not kept on file, and she could not answer. It was untrue that it was not on my file as in my initial phone call to her she could tell me that it was Roberto who had put my colour in 6 months previously (August 2015). Again, I was upset on the phone and she promised to get the owner to contact me the following morning from between 8-10am. I did not receive a phone call from anyone in the salon. I have never left a review before but felt that I was so unfairly treated that I had an obligation to other customers to make them aware of my treatment. My advice to customers would be that there are some excellent salons in Dublin (Alan Keville's Hair Salon, Anne Street; Dylan Bradshaw, South William Street; Toni & Guy, Clarendon Street) which they should go to before they consider any of the Blow branches. As a loyal customer of four years, I was left upset by my treatment by the staff and had to go to another salon to rectify the red colour that I was left with in my hair (which is brown). read more

I had an appointment for shellac nails at Blow at InterContinental Hotel. The lady doing my nails was very nice and friendly, however she had no clue how to put nail polish. The nails look awful, polish is uneven, I would certainly did it better myself. Also, they have only several colors to choose from and the ma UV light lamp looks very old, dirty and unprofessional. In addition, the salon wanted me to pay 35 euro, although the price on the website for shellac nails is 25. I will never come back and I do not recommend it for doing nails. read more
