Insulwise team was professional and thorough, and completed the project on time. We had our attic…read moreand part of the garage insulated in October, in time for the frigid winter weather. We have yet to see any energy savings, as promised on their website. Taking weather changes into account which was about 25% colder so far, we also used about 25% more gas to heat the home at the same settings. On the plus side, the room above the garage and second floor bedroom below the attic are more comfortable and less drafty, so we 'll keep tabs and hopefully we'll see better results in the summer with a/c usage.

And the results of the work done by Insulwise is now clear. In the past, we could feel the cold coming right through our walls which meant putting on additional clothing even as we turned the thermostat up. That is no longer the case. Strikingly, we can touch the inside walls, facing the outside of the house, and not feel the cold at all. There are no longer cold spots in the house that we avoid. We have turned down the thermostat and still the house is much warmer than it was last winter when it wasn't nearly as cold outside. My daughter and son-in-law noticed the change immediately when they visited and commented on it. In summary, the work done by Insulwise did exactly what we had hoped for. In terms of economics, we are in our 70's and may or may not be here long enough to recoup the savings on our heating bills. But we are so much more comfortable now than we were in past years that we will never regret getting this done; our only regret is not getting it done sooner. Thank you so much, Insulwise!

Bill and crew did a great job repairing the damage so that the new countertop was able to be installed on time. High quality work completed by a total professional. Highly recommend Bill and his company for any plastering/drywall repair you may need. (next review done by my wife) ...A second time during our kitchen remodel we needed Bill and his crew to repair the ceiling due to lighting upgrades. We have the utmost respect for Bill's skilled craftsmanship. Not only did he repair the ceiling, but was able to masterly replicate the slight texture ceiling pattern blending it in with the original. Our daughter visited and was very impressed with the seamless match. Not only was Bill meticulous in his workmanship, but he and his team applied the same care when working in our home. They placed drop-cloths from the front door all the way into the kitchen, covered the island and used their portable shop-vac to tidy up afterward. We feel extremely lucky to have found such a skilled company!

Everyone we had contact with from the first meeting at a home show to the finished product was very professional. They arrived on time, explained every step of the process and did a bang up job of cleaning up when the work was completed each day. I can say without hesitation that we will call them for more work when the time comes. More than professional, everyone was very personable. Thanks for a job well done everyone at the Merola Company.

Draft Stoppers Insulation - This is the way Gary did air sealing of my plumbing chase.

Gary's response is a deflection from the actual quality of his company's work. Future customers…read moreonly need to look at the attached "before" photo to see the reality: an unsealed plumbing chase completely open to the attic, which Gary specifically assured me he had personally sealed. It was left entirely open and was already being buried under R-60 cellulose insulation, which was leaking down into my bathroom walls. I did not text "late at night"--I sent clear, photographic proof of this shortcut during daytime hours after discovering the issue. I only told Gary not to contact me further after it became completely clear that the job had been misrepresented, the money was taken, and I was left with no choice but to crawl into the space and properly air-seal the hazard myself to protect my home. The photos speak for themselves. This wasn't a matter of being "impossible to please"; it was a matter of holding a contractor accountable to the basic standards of safety and honesty that were paid for.

Gary claims online that his crew is 'meticulous' with air sealing, but my experience proved that…read morehis priority is cutting corners and burying the negligence under insulation. During the process, Gary explicitly stated to me via text: We don't usually vacuum the attic floor before sealing and he even attempted to bring a leaf blower into my attic instead of doing real prep work. I had to spend ten hours of my own labor sweeping and vacuuming the dust, dirt, and mouse droppings just so the foam would actually adhere to the wood. I also had to explicitly override his instructions to his worker just to ensure my exterior top plates were foamed. Worse yet, Gary looked me in the eye and lied to my face, telling me he personally took care of sealing the main plumbing chase. Because it was about to be buried under R-60 cellulose, he clearly assumed I would never look. Days after they left, I opened my bathroom tub access panel and found the chase completely open to the attic, with brand-new cellulose insulation already leaking down into my walls see before photo All he left was a useless bead of foam on a lower piece of framing that did absolutely nothing to close the actual gap. When I texted him clear photographic proof of this shortcut, he read the messages and completely ghosted me. He got his money and simply did not care. I had to crawl in and properly seal the chase myself (see 'after' photo). Check their work thoroughly if you hire them--or better yet, find a contractor who actually cares about quality and honesty."
