We hired Insulwise in fall 2022 to handle two projects - air sealing/insulating our attic and dense-packing our garage ceiling. While I can't comment just yet on how much it's improved our comfort and energy usage, I can say that they they did a fantastic job all the way through - from my initial email to completion of the work. There were a few reasons we chose Insulwise over other companies that provided estimates: - During the initial contact, I provided the energy audit report we received from a different company earlier in the year. When the sales consultant, Brady, showed up for the estimate, he confirmed the findings in the audit and was ready to get started. Neither of the other companies we worked with bothered with any preparation (even though I offered to give both of them the audit report). - Brady spent 2+ hours climbing through our attic, taking pictures of areas to be air sealed or addressed during the insulation project. He did the same in the garage and throughout the rest of the house. He then talked through all of the options available to us and brought up non-insulation concerns, such as our attic ventilation. I had lots of questions and he stayed until he had answered all of them. One of the other companies we worked with spent literally 2-3 minutes with their head up the attic hatch, told me air sealing is "overrated" and somehow put together an estimate (that ended up being about $1,500 more than Insulwise even though they weren't doing the air sealing work). The other company ghosted us on the day of the estimate. - I received an email the day after the estimate from Brady with a proposal attached that detailed all of the work we had discussed. I had more questions for him and he always responded quickly and made adjustments to the proposal. After signing the contract, Insulwise completed both projects in two days. Brian, Justin, and Zach were all super-friendly, took the time to explain what they were doing, and were always willing to answer any questions I had during the work. Since Brady had already taken pictures of just about everything, they were able to get started immediately and had an understanding of our attic situation and what work needed to be completed. They worked the whole time they were at our house and did an excellent job cleaning up when they were done. They also walked me through all of the work at the end and took before and after pictures/videos. I'm obviously not an expert on insulating houses, but from what I can tell, the work done is very professional and exactly as was shown to me during the estimate process/discussion. Overall, we were really happy with Insulwise. Everyone we spoke with was always friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to be passionate about insulation and the science behind it. We recently had work done on our home to correct a "ventilation issue" in our attic. Condensation had done extensive damage to our roof, and after a VERY costly replacement of the whole roof, (decking, shingles, new soffit and ridge vent) condensation was STILL an problem. As it turns out, the problem was NOT with the ventilation. The problem was the air penetrations in the floor of the attic, allowing warm moist air from our living spaces below, to leak into the attic. When the warm moist air contacted the cold roof deck, condensation formed. I was frantic to find out what was going on with our attic, and how to get it fixed. No one involved with the roofing and project could tell us what was wrong. Sadly, many contractors are not aware, or prepared to deal with these issues. We had a free home energy audit done, and immediately Xavier found numerous areas of air leakage, and we could see and feel the problem areas, during the pressure testing. Xavier promptly sent us the quote for the work that was needed . All details were clearly explained. The project start date was quickly, and easily scheduled. The crew showed up on time, were professional, careful, and completed the work of air sealing, insulating, and building a new, raised attic floor in the attic, followed by a good clean up. It was worth every penny! We saw and felt the immediate improvement in our attic. We now have a dry, and properly insulated attic. Talk about bang for your buck! After months of worry and stress over this attic issue, Andy and his crew SOLVED the problem in two days! We also had cold sealing in our basement, which is another great service that shows immediate results! You can feel it, and see it with a thermal imager. I hope no person has to endure the frustration, and expensive reconstruction we experienced, not when a very modest investment can solve the problem. I cannot emphasize how pleased we are with the work that Insulwise completed in our home. From the initial consultation with Erik to the completion of the job Insulwise was exceptional. This week we had blown-in insulation installed, Aeroseal and spray foam added to our rim joists. I was so impressed with both crews that worked here, Zach, Cody and Jake showed up for 2 days, working non-stop to blow the insulation into our walls and attic. I could not believe the amount of work that they did. Zach was crawling into spaces that only a child could get into. The 3 of them were so polite and accommodating. State of the art company. Erik came and gave me a free assessment. As a responsible home owner, I also got a second opinion after he came. What the other company said when they came to take a look mirrored pretty much exactly what Erik told me. This is not a company out to scam you into buying things you don't need. Brian and Justin did the work at my house. They were friendly, courteous, respectful, hardworking, positive and communicated extremely well. They let me know what they were doing every step of the way. They are great employees that Insulwise should count themselves very lucky to have. This company does really good work! They don't just pump in the insulation, they carefully SEAL the surface of the roof beforehand and don't cut any corners. I would highly recommend Insulwise Energy and Comfort Solutions to remediate an attic mold problem and improve the energy efficiency of your home. We contacted Insulwise when we discovered visible black and white, splotches on the underside of our roof and on our beams, and frost and water droplets forming on the nail heads. Our journey began in the winter when we discovered that we had mold in our attic. A few years back we had Andy and Insulwise come out to re- insulate our attic and home. We had the old pink stuff and it just wasn't doing the job. Not only was this company honest, clean and efficient but it has changed the warm and cool temps in our home dramatically! We would highly recommend Andy & Insulwise. They did a thorough audit of our insulation and discussed with us each issue. They set up an appointment to do the work and confirmed the appointment by phone twice and email twice...very efficient! Even though our home was just built in 2008, the original insulation was not done properly and Insulwise addressed that. Very professional, friendly and considerate. A big plus was Andy coming to check on how the crew was doing and during his visit he addressed a very drafty gas fireplace that had a large hole open to the outside. I wish I could give this company 10 stars instead of 5. From the moment of contact to the completion of the job, I experienced nothing but stellar customer service. We were bare bones on our insulation in our attic and we needed a new bathroom exhaust fan and for the exhaust vent to be corrected in a bathroom. They placed nearly 16 inches of insulation and that bathroom has been dry as a bone since changing the fan and vent. My wife and I recently had Andy from Insulwise provide us with a quote to have our first floor and basement insulated. Not only was the quote competitive but their work was exemplary and their employees very professional. This work has the potential to be very dusty and create a mess, however we noticed that the employees took extra care to minimize the dust and even went so far as to cover our furniture with plastic and section off one room at a time. We purchased an older home that was drafty and not very energy efficient. I researched insulation companies by watching YouTube videos and reading reviews.
