Called in late evening for early AM pickup, cab shows up 4 min later (wow!). Driver barks "call dispatcher! " really? How about a please or "sorry to bother you". Dispatcher was rude and didn't apologize either. Hmm. Based on the reviews, apparently I'm the only person with generally good experiences with Blue Cab. We have found them to be reliable and courteous, and use them consistently to and from River Forest to ORD and MDW. We always call the day before to schedule, and Blue Cab has been there on-time or very close to it every time. My only complaint would be the older fleet of cars, as I've had a cab without air conditioning on more than one occasion. Other than that, we have found Blue Cab to be consistently punctual and without incident. read more

The dispatcher was some rude trailer park trash! The driver kept blowing my phone up to tell me that he was enroute. Finally got in the car and all I smelled was ASS!! He acted like he was high too. 10 minutes after dropping me off, he texted me twice saying that he couldn't pick up and to call dispatch. If I could make this a 1/2 star, I would. Over the years the service from this company has continued to decline - lower and lower. Because it is the only local cab company, they have a monopoly. I will not use them again. Today they were 17 minutes late. I'm heading to the airport for an international flight. I called their dispatch office 3 times to find out where the cab was. This was after I got a robo call from the Blue Cab office saying my cab had arrived and was outside (at 6:45pm). You have to understand that the cab was not there. It arrived almost 20 minutes later. When I saw the cab, a block away, it had to stop for a red light before it could cross the intersection to get to my house. He stopped, looked, then ran through the still-red light. I will NEVER use this cab company again. Today was my daughter's concert band/orchestra competition, followed by an afternoon at Great America, which is about an hour from our home. Wouldn't you know it - our alarm didn't go off, and she woke us up at 8:03 in a total panic. We live about 3/4 of a mile from the school, and our car is in the shop until this afternoon - the perfect storm - so I called Blue Cab immediately and told them the situation. They said they'd "put a rush on it" and would be there in five minutes. That was at 8:05 AM, at which point, the buses at my daughter's school were already loading. The taxi didn't show up until 8:35 AM!! I called four times in between, and was told repeatedly that the cab would be there "in two minutes." If Blue Cab had said that it would be 30 minutes, I could have called another taxi, a neighbor, anybody else. She could have ridden her bike, or even run, the 3/4 of a mile to the school. Because of Blue Cab, she missed the bus, the band/orchestra director is furious with her and me, and I had to pay a car service $150 to get her to her band/orchestra competition on time. I couldn't be more dissatisfied with a service that I use regularly. Some of the time they are right on, but rarely. The customer service I've gotten from the dispatchers is absolutely ridiculous, there is no excuse 4 them being so out of touch with the drivers. I mean come on, we're not asking for much here!! I waited today for almost an hour at ohare airport. They told me the wsit would be 20 min but after 30 min i called and they said another 10. After another 15 i took a city cab home to oak park. I also find it hard to hear them when i call. Time to get another cab co.!! read more

If I could give no stars I would! Hour and 20mins late when the estimated time was 5 to 15mins. Driver was parked 35ft away from location and slowly started to drive off until I yelled for him to wait. Once I finally got in the cab he was very rude and disrespectful. I decided to not take the cab considering the horrible service and report to blue cab dispatch but all that dispatch did was pick up and hang up 3 times in a row. This company is great! I needed to pick up a prescription for an infection I got late Christmas Eve...running a temp of 101.7. I called another taxi company and waited for them for an hour and a half. Finally I called Blue Cab and they told me it would be 15-20 minutes. The driver showed up in 15 minutes. Never again. My sister scheduled a cab to take her to O'Hare the following morning and the cab never showed. When she called them 15 minutes after they were scheduled to pick her up, they said the cab was in route. 15 minutes later, still no cab. When she called again, they said one hadn't been issued yet. So, she told them to just cancel it and she'll find another ride and the lady HUNG UP ON HER!?!?! This was the second time Blue Cab didn't show up for an airport drop off. We're done. Blue Cab Service is TEEEEEEERIBLE with a Capital T. They have made me late for work 4 times this month. Tonight was the last straw. The dispatcher Ashley purposely cancelled my taxi order just because she is rude unprofessional ignorant, and immature, making me LATE FOR WORK AGAIN. After moving to Oak Park, the first time I ordered a cab the driver (who sports a tail) spent the ride to the airport showing us a youtube video about a woman who had had sex with a pig and here is her child. Though completely disgusted, we had to explain to this person that different species do not interbred - and took the time to explain the whole Horse, Donkey, Mule thing. I don't think he believed us. The next time I ordered a cab for my husband to go to the airport; I gave them his mobile number as I would be away on business at that time. They kept calling me that they were outside - except they were on a similarly named street in Downers Grove - not OP. He ended up driving after they told him it would take 20 min to get another driver to him. The third and last time was Dec 11, I arranged for a cab to the airport to pick me up at 6:15pm. I also confirmed they would use my mobile number not my work number that I had called from. The lady read it back to me. As 6:25p came and went and Blue Cab hung up on me instead of placing me on hold, I called Red Cab. They were there within 3 minutes. On Dec 12 at 5:10am, 5:11am, and 5:15am - I had messages on my work vmail, from Blue Cab saying they were outside waiting for me. The driver from Red Cab was very personable BTW! read more

I was driving south on Ridgeland. A blue cab was in the lane that turned right at the last minute he changed his mind and cut me off nearly forcing me onto oncoming traffic. After I honked to let him know I was next to him he drove slower then ever. I got a license plate number but after reading the reviews about management I do not want to call them. read more

My Family Member needed to be taken to & from Doctors office. They had called another cab company Days ago & schedule one. When they called today to make sure they will be there to pick them up they said yes. Well when they didn't show up. They called Blue Cab & they said they will be there in 15 to 20 minuets they showed up with in 10 minuets & when they need to return home Blue Cab picked them up with in the same amount of time. I am using this cab company for the last 6 years or so. Sometime I catch the early morning flights (5:40am - 7am range). I call around 9pm or 10pm the previous evening and tell them a specific time such as 4:30am and they are promptly there. When I return to either Midway or OHare, I just call them from the airport and a cab arrives anywhere from 10min-20min. Since the fare is fixed, it saves me at least $10 in comparison to city cabs hailed at the airport. The city cab drivers do not want to drive to Oak Park and feel very agitated when you say Oak Park. If your flight is going to be later than 6:30pm for midway and 7:30pm for OHare, it is best to call ahead and reserve a taxi. Since I call from my mobile, they know my name and address right away and it is a courteous transaction. As far as the cab quality - that depends on the cab you get. Most of the drivers strike a conversation with you and are friendly. Many a times I have returned from International Trips and have called them once I am out of the baggage claim/customs and I have got a cab in 20mins. read more

Completely unreliable and terrible customer service. I reserved a cab through their app (as the recording suggests when you call) earlier in the day for an 11pm flight arrival. After I landed, the app said they were still assigning a driver. I called and they immediately knew who I was and said it would be 10-20 minutes and they'd call me back with the driver number. 15 minutes later I call back and the dispatcher says they are having trouble getting a cab to the airport because all of their drivers are going home and it will be at least 30 minutes! What is the point of reserving a cab if they are not going to assign the job to a driver and even have people working. Insane. read more

Blue cab is very hit-and-miss, but mostly miss. Recently, my father and I were waiting for 30 minutes on a cab to take us from Ultra Foods in Forest Park, to our house, also in Forest Park. We literally could have walked home twice by the time the guy showed up. (But our groceries were heavy, and it was raining so we didn't have a choice.) The cab was clean, but believe me this is not as common as it should be. I don't doubt that better drivers are out during daylight hours, but between their (always) ghetto dispatch and how awful their cabs can be, there is no excuse. If you can't put out decent night drivers, don't stay open 24 hours. It's that simple. How is it worth the business if all of your customers get mistreated and never call again? Most of my drivers have been either nice or silent; there is only one that has ever been an a-hole about things, and now we specifically tell dispatch to never send his number to our house. Occasionally we get one who is insensitive or ignorant, but not necessarily 'offensive'. I also agree that without GPS, most cabbies do not know where they're going. It doesn't help that many of them are foreign, and don't understand your instructions when you try to correct their driving. On the flip side, when you do find a good driver and cab, they are the best. Very clean, nicely working cab, low music, and a clean cut driver. I only wish the management would put more emphasis on these aspects, rather than turning a blind eye to it. To me, sites like Yelp only do so much good if the owners themselves never look at them. Then again, if I owned Blue Cab, I'd be afraid to look at reviews, too. read more

Horrible. I will never tell my guest to use the company and will vehemently, defer them from using them EVER. Terrrible cab company. My guest was suppose to have a taxi arrive at 12:30. I called at 12:40 to see what the hold up was - response 5 minutes or less. I called at 12:50 to see where the taxi was - after being transferred multiple times and repeating the same information I was hung up on. The taxi arrive at 12:58. My guest's meeting was at 1. She was obviously late. I called the taxi company and asked to talk to a manger and got transferred four times and ended up talking to a receptionist. Complete waste of my time and my guests time. Very happy with this cab service, arrived EXACTLY 15 minutes after I called today. Very spacious and clean cab (I think the vehicle was a Ford Flex), cab had a back bright blue screen that kept the passenger area well lit at night and allowed me to sign and swipe my credit card from my seat. The driver was very professional and courteous throughout the trip, when I got in the cab and gave the driver the address to where I was going, he told me the route he was taking to get there and then asked me "Do you know a faster way to get there?" Which I did :) I appreciated him asking me that because I've been in cabs where they take longer routes just to run up the meter and then I have to get stern and direct the driver to a direct route, but tonight with this cab that didn't happen. The average price for my route with other cab companies is $20-$25, with Blue Cab it was $17, so it was cheaper, nicer and faster then other cabs I've taken going the same route to Midway. I will recommend this company to others and it will be my go-to cab for future trips. read more

I've been taking Blue Cab literally for years as I grew up in the area, and this recent experience is emblematic of their entire poor operation: I get a cab driver who gives me a hard time about paying debit; I very well understand the plight small ticket merchants face when processing card payments but too bad, you've elected to accept it (note the ride was 4.45 and I gave $3 tip). I call the dispatch, only to be passed to a supervisor and for her to attempt to tell ME what happened. Huh?! Then she condescendingly passes me through to (the owner's?) vm. No, "Ill have him call you" or better still, "Ill handle this and get back to you". If you're lucky to get a good driver get their number; but I think I'll go back to Uber. read more

I have used these guys a couple of times for trips to the airport because I want to support a smaller local company and they always have cabs waiting at the Harlem Green line stop. I have never had a problem before but today I had the rudest dispatcher who also refused to get me a supervisor. I called for a cab at the pink line at 54th. The rep told me 10-20 min. After 15 min I looked on the app and it said if I ordered there was a cab 5min away. When I called to inquire the rep told me they had nothing available and when I asked why the app said there was a cab five minutes away she transferred me to a dispatcher who was extremely rude. She said she didn't know anything about the app. And that no cabs were available. I asked if there was another cab company in the area she got sarcastic and said no. When I asked again how long it would be again then if I can't call someone else? She got upset said have a nice day and hung up . I called back and asked for a supervisor and was transferred to the same dispatcher who said there was no supervisor available because at this point I don't know if this woman is going to get me a cab and what she did not know was I am a diabetic who needed to get home to my insulin. I told her if she would not get me a supervisor she said well I told you have a nice day. Saying that does not give you a right to hang up on a customer and refuse to get a supervisor. Then I told her I would be filing a report with the better business bureau she laughed and said yeah right you can't do nothing. So beware of their horrible customer service and I will be filing with the better business bureau and I have left a message with the business association in their town. Customers should not be treated disrespectful and hung up on. We the consumers do have the power to warn others about when a company that I thought was good from my past had obviously lowered their standards in who they hired. Prompt morning or evening pickup from Oak Park to Midway. Terrible service from airport even when I've reserved a ride weeks in advance. I have waited at Midway for well over 30 minutes (after retrieving baggage) and have had the dispatcher change my cab number 3 times while waiting. Like another rater, I wish giving this cab company zero stars was an option. This experience occurred with Vehicle ID: 0207, Driver ID: 00001338. I live in Chicago and do not have access to a car, so when I was heading into the suburbs via Metra to a job interview, I was planning on using Blue Cab to get me from the station to the business. I called Blue Cab when I arrived at the station, at 12:00 giving me what I thought was plenty of time to get the 2.5 miles to my 1:00 interview and ordered the cab. I was told by the dispatcher to give them 30 minutes to arrive. Alright, fair enough, I hadn't called ahead. After 40 minutes had passed, I called Blue Cab once again and informed them that over 30 minutes had passed and my cab had still not arrived. I was told that the car was on its way and would be there in less than 10 minutes. 15 minutes after that the cab arrived and as I stepped into the cab, knowing I was already going to be late to my interview, the driver informed me that he had to get gas. I politely told him I needed to be at a job interview by 1:00 to which he responded "Not my problem", and then "I'm not going to charge you while I get gas even though I should. I'm not an asshole". Late cab, smelly car, extremely rude and crude driver. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. By comparison, I took 303 Taxi on the way home and the car arrived 7 minutes after I called and charged me less for the ride. read more
