This was my third time using Americar Shuttle and I was once again pleased with the reservation process, professionalism and flexibility with reservations details. My driver was friendly, on time and arrived with a clean car. My only con would be the lack of refreshments. I am not sure if this is guaranteed within their service but the last few times I booked the driver had bottle waters available. I just expected this amenity to be consistent considering gratuity is included within the pricing. Overall the service was great but I believe this company may outsource their drivers so I may use another company that has a standard when it comes to vehicle model etc. read more

This company no-showed me. I had setup a ride to the airport for my family for 8am on 1/12/23. By 8:15 they hadn't arrived and so I called to ask what was going on- they said they'd contact the driver and call me right back. They *never called back* and even when I tried calling them back numerous times over the next 30 minutes, it went to voicemail each time. I was absolutely floored by the terrible service. Luckily, after realizing they were never coming or calling back, my husband was able to call an extremely last minute Uber XL and we barely made it to the airport in time. We read the reviews and they looked good, so we schedule a 2:20 AM pickup on May 20, 2022, going to O'Hare from Evanston. This was for a 5:00 AM flight--what could go wrong? The disclaimer said the car could be up to 15 minutes late, so we waited and waited. They claim to have 24X7 availability--and they do--VOICEMAIL. The car never showed up. They initially told us the fare would be about $45 then we got a message saying it would be $75. They billed us right away and then added an $83 service fee. We tried multiple times to contact them and never got through. The only thing that saved us was an Uber driver and we got to the airport in time for the flight. At least they had the good sense to reverse all the charges before we had to dispute them with the credit card company. I would never even consider using them... read more

I was confirmed via website and email for a 3am pickup on May 4th. No one showed, no answer on the email confirmation number or the website phone number. Already paid via CC. In fact both uniquely different numbers are to some random guy who sounds profoundly uneducated. I left a VM and email. I didn't have any time as my flight was leaving in 2 hrs. I ended up parking for $40 a night in the Midway Airport lot. I Let them know, they didn't care, AT ALL. I would really avoid this half-rate dump of a company and owner. What a joke. read more

The worst experience ever! I use limo/shuttle service often and have never had such unprofessional, unreliable service. I booked airport service picking up my brother from Chicago Midway at 2 pm on a Friday. His flight got delayed several times at Burbank. He called the driver at the number given who informed him he was no longer his driver. I called the company who then told me they would assign another driver and email me and text info to my brother. They did that. His flight kept getting delayed and they said don't worry and they would check for updates. After being reassured it would not be a problem and they would check for updates, when my brother landed he was outside about to call the driver and got a call from the driver that his ride was cancelled. They left him stranded at the airport! I then called the company who said they cancelled his transportation due to too many delays. He said the driver is within his rights. What about our rights after they charged my credit card? Do they not have a duty to provide the service I paid for? I asked why they did not call me and I was informed they tried calling him. Hellooo...he was on the plane with his phone off! I told them they should have arranged another driver and at the minimum they should have called me so I could arrange alternate transportation. I asked for a refund which they said they would do but did not. I had to dispute the charge. I absolutely would not recommend this company to anyone. Not only did they not provide the service I paid for and left my brother scrambling for a ride, they did not even attempt to be to resolve the issue. Poor business practices. read more

Thrilled with the service we received from Americar Shuttle. We needed to get our family of five to MDW (about 60-90 minutes away) on relatively short notice (less than 24 hours). We were able to book a minivan easily at what appears to be the market rate. Our driver arrived 15 minutes before the appointed time and was very courteous. The traffic and a driving rainstorm made things a little nerve-wracking, but the driver wove safely through traffic and was able to get us to the airport with ease. Despite making a reservation weeks in advance, Americar left me stranded at O'Hare. Because I did not get an email confirmation the night before as they claim they send, I left a voice message and emailed them between connecting flights. When I landed at O'Hare there was still no response from them. When I called, I got their voice mail but kept calling until someone answered. He sounded very confused. He located my reservation but could provide no explanation of why nobody was assigned and told me I would have to find another way home. I emailed them a few days later but got no response. No apology. Nothing. Do yourself a favor and use another service. Not sure how they can stay in business. read more

Excellent Service! I was very nervous because this was the first time that I used a service to get from Northwest Indiana to Midway airport (and back). Normally I drive and park in the lot but since we were traveling with my daughter's service dog, we didn't want to deal with that hassle. The driver (Hatim N.) was on time picking us up and we arrived at the airport ahead of time. Coming back I knew it would take us a while to get from the gate to the arrivals pickup and our driver (Chris R.) was very accommodating. Both drivers also helped us with all of our luggage and other items. It was an amazing experience and so much less expensive than other companies. We will definitely use them again! read more

Initially, i chose Americar because they were the only car service that would take me to Midway for under a hundred dollars. In the future, I'll choose them because it was a marvelous experience. I was able to book my ride online threeish weeks in advance; the website was very user friendly, and I received an email the night before my trip, providing me with driver's details. Javier picked me up, and the car was immaculate. He texted me to let me know he would be arriving in thirty minutes (which was a few minutes early). He was courteous, professional, and amicable. Resevered a town car a week in advance for a 3am pick up and midnight pick up and midway airport. They took the money right away and did do the pick up at 3am but the day before the midnight pick up canceled my order at 3am and then when I called they said there was nothing they could do and hung up on me. They stick me with trying to find a car for my wife a day before when most places need 3 days to unfilled. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICES! read more

I just used this shuttle service to get to Midway Airport. First, I downloaded the app in the App Store. It is so convenient and easy to use to reserve a car. I was assigned a driver the day before my trip and he contacted me to confirm. I really liked that they were in contact with me so I didn't have to guess. I was provided his name, email and cell phone. Great! My driver Tim was early on the day of service. He was polite, friendly and drove safely. The only negative would be that I'm used to professionally dressed drivers. I would make that recommendation to the owner as the drivers are a representation of the company. Also, I chose not to tip through the app until I received service. Upon arrival at Midway, there wasn't an option to tip through my reservation in the app. You just get one chance to tip on the app at the time of booking. So I tipped in cash. Another recommendation to the owner would be to fix the app where your clients can tip upon the quality of service after the ride is completed similar to Uber. Also, another nice feature on the app is you can select your drivers. Now that I know to him and like him, I will be requesting him in the future. I recommend this service. All rides are private, not shared. They have sedans, mostly Lincolns, limos, vans...and upon request and availability, car seats for infants and children. I'll definitely use this shuttle service. Over the years, we've used a number of car services for rides to the airport. Some good, some just awful. We just tried Americar and were very impressed! The email confirmation was much appreciated--some companies don't even bother, and then I wonder if they will actually show up after I've booked! Bob picked us up promptly (was actually a bit early, but we were ready so no biggie), and got us to O'Hare safely and on-time. The following week, Bijay picked us up for the ride back home. His texts were helpful in locating his car (this was the night of the immigration protests, so you can imagine the chaos), and we enjoyed a great conversation with him on the ride home. Scheduling this online was very easy & their website is customer friendly. Our driver was Daniel (one of the business partners) on both trips & he was very friendly & I enjoyed talking to him about the business as I work in the same industry. Uber like Shuttle service. Customer service is good as long as your flights and baggage are on time If not you'll get to see the real Americar. Rude, condescending, extremely disrespectful and then incompetent. It all fell apart. I've used many shuttle and limo services and understand occasional glitches. We had the pleasant experience of having Adam pick us up from the airport in Chicago and drive us 2 and a half hours to our house in Lake Michigan. Not only was Adam very pleasant to be around, but he made the ride comfortable, enjoyable and even fun. We got to learn all about Game of Thrones and the city of Chicago. I believe my son's driver was Tim. This guy was awesome and really helped us out of a jam. My son missed his shared shuttle from another company to airport and was in desperate need of a ride or he would miss his flight. We called Americar Shuttle. At first they were booked but then they called our house right back and said they could do it. From there, the driver was in constant contact with me at our house since my son's phone was not working. Americar Shuttle and Tim really helped us out of a jam and I really appreciate it. I have been using this cab service for a while now and I would highly recommend it over other local cab services. The drivers are extremely friendly, polite. Also they have a good turnaround time for my pick up request as compared to other cab services. Horribly unprofessional and will never use again. Our driver abandoned us in downtown Chicago after a concert because, in his words, "there's too much traffic and I can't turn around." After an hour and a half and numerous attempts to connect with him, even sending him a picture of exactly where we were waiting, he flat out refused to pick us up. We had to call an Uber at 12:30AM to get us home, which cost an exorbitant amount of money. Management was to call me back and rectify the situation financially, but they didn't. I followed up today and will apparently be refunded for half the amount of my round trip fee, which will not come close to what we had to pay for a last-minute Uber. I was told that this was one of their 'better drivers' so that should help paint a solid picture of how this company treats their customers. read more

Went online to submit /book request for transportation to Midway Airport. I did not or have not as of today, receive a confirmation of the payment as well as 20% tip from anyone in the company. Thought I would at least receive some sort of confirmation that request was received. I contacted another company as a result of NOT hearing or receiving anything from Americar and immediately received an text confirmation for my request. I am a Customer Service Manager and this display or failure to confirm or acknowledge receipt of customer's money or request for service is unacceptable to me.
