It was a pretty convenient turn off; I souped up my jeep with gas at the 711 and just waddled next door to the MM. The place was empty, no one behind the glass; in fact I was there for a good solid 10 minutes until someone came to the window. In those 10 minutes I did a jig in front of the camera, I knocked on what seemed to be a bullet proof window and then tried to decipher if there was a calling button somewhere in the interior. Finally a girl came out and indignantly apologised that their bell was not working. Strike one. Okay fine, no problem; let's just get to the transaction. So a form is filled out with the appropriate information of the sender and a special number that is sent to you. This all went pretty smoothly but the amount that I was going to receive was well under $20. I asked the girl behind the "bullet proof" glass if they take a commission and she said no, that the conversion fluctuates every minute or so. Now I had just checked several websites before coming to see the conversion of Euro to Canadian and I knew relatively what to expect but $20 short, that is a huge fluctuation. Strike two. There was then some problem that my friend hadn't used my first name, but the name my friend did use was on both my driver's license and on my passport. The girl then said if this were another Money Mart they probably wouldn't serve me. But she said it with such a reprimanding tone. Strike three. So I said upon receiving the cash, not to worry and that I would never use their service again. Western Union, at this particular Money Mart is half assed, with a system that takes your money and has a lame reason for it with service people that don't have customer service skills because they aren't even sitting at their desk. Use Moneygram which is always on the up and up, Paypal or bank transfers at least you have the paper trail to see your conversion and where money is being depleted.

DO NOT let them PRESSURE YOU into their OPTIONAL PROTECTION PLAN. It's a HUGE rip off. They charged…read moremy friend $14,317 for it. It makes your loan cost so much more than their already SKY HIGH loan cost. They charge 47% interest BEFORE the rip off "protection plan". My friend borrowed $21,688 from them, paid them back $28,733 and still owes them $10,251! He has literally been ripped off and been charged $14,317 for a "protection plan" in addition to the $7,045 in interest at 47% that he paid them. He told them he didn't want insurance. If they wouldn't have pressured him, he already would have been out of this horribly high rate loan, had $4,066 in his pocket instead of theirs and closed the account. Instead he has overpaid $4,066 and they still say he owes $10,251! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE: When he called their customer service to talk about options they disconnected the line 5 TIMES, once after being on hold for 24 minutes. STAY AWAY FROM CASHMONEY! NEVER LET THEM PRESSURE YOU INTO THEIR "OPTIONAL PROTECTION PLAN".

Then ask for one more thing. Then get an email saying that sorry they couldn't approve me at this time. Like WTH!?!? Just avoid these guys at all costs. There are lots of great payday loan places, this one is just bad bad bad.
