Both artists are originally from Orlando, but have now made the Emerald Coast their home. They used a hybrid of air brush and brush painting techniques. I love the whimsy of these flamingos splashing in the water which pools out onto the concrete! I wonder why the artists painted the background that looks like wallpaper rather than with trees? But then again, I think the trees would not fit to scale because the flamingoes are way larger than life! These are some gigantic birds! Destin artist Andi Scurto painted this mural. Mattie the Giraffe was originally created for an art competition in 2015. Andi named the giraffe Mattie, which was aptly named because she was created for the Mattie Kelly Arts Festival.
