It was a cloudy day which I loved! Otherwise I would have been burnt to a crisp lol! It was BYOB and the pontoon owner had several floats so we could relax in the water and sip adult beverages. We also brought snacks. We arrived at 9 AM and headed back at 1 PM. You have to time the day with the tide. The water was about waste deep. It was so much fun! There were floating cafes and gift shops nearby. There were also smaller boats that passed buy with food, drinks (non alcoholic), shirts and hats. If we saw something we liked we waved at them and they would stop by and let us get a closer look. If you've never been you must do it at least once. I promise you'll have fun (if you like boats and water)!

We did a 3 hour tour (there's longer tours if you'd like), which was perfect for our limited schedule, but I went in early April without realizing just how cold the water would be. It's a unique, fun spot with floating vendors, beautiful views, and a lively atmosphere, which I hear is amazing in the warmer months. Pros: * Unique experience * Beautiful, crystal-clear water * Fun and lively atmosphere (lots of boats around) * Floating vendors with food and drinks available * Great for photos * Flexible timing options Cons: * Water can be very cold depending on the season (early April was freezing) * You're in the water most of the time, limited "dry" space on the boat * Can be less enjoyable with young kids in colder weather (mine needed to be on floaters the whole time) * Requires some planning (bring sunscreen, towels, floaties, cash) * Likely gets very crowded/party-heavy during peak warmer months * Only accessible by boat, need to do tour or rent private boat

You can view the Colorful Flamingo Mural titled "Tropical Vibes" on the opposing building's wall. If you want to see this mural in person, it is located at the Destin Commons, a shopping center. You can find it between Abercrombie & Fitch and Build-A-Bear. The parking lot closest to this mural is the one near the AMC Movie Theatre.

She's riding her bicycle in the sky with some very colorful birds! Looks like a few birds are helping her on her flight/ride! How fun it is this mural is near the children's play area! Destin artist Andi Scurto painted this mural. Mattie the Giraffe was originally created for an art competition in 2015. Andi named the giraffe Mattie, which was aptly named because she was created for the Mattie Kelly Arts Festival. If you are interested, there is a children's book titled "The Accidental Misadventures of Mattie the Giraffe" written & illustrated by Andi. This mural is located at the Destin Commons, a shopping center. You can find it near the splash pad across from the Kid Area/Lucky Climber.
