Both artists are originally from Orlando, but have now made the Emerald Coast their home. They used a hybrid of air brush and brush painting techniques. I love the whimsy of these flamingos splashing in the water which pools out onto the concrete! I wonder why the artists painted the background that looks like wallpaper rather than with trees? But then again, I think the trees would not fit to scale because the flamingoes are way larger than life! These are some gigantic birds! Lots of people, and a ton of vendors selling everything from Pizza Hut, Subway, Chick-fil-A plus ice cream, pickles, and lot of other good munchies. We even visited a restaurant called Blue Lagoon Grill... with an amazing menu and chef.. And we even shopped in a store on the water where we bought some floaties. Someone always has music playing around you and it's just a vibe. Go check it out!!!
Crab Island was quite an experience! My friends group rented two pontoons for a day of fun. It was…read moreraining on the boat ride there but stopped by the time we anchored. It was a cloudy day which I loved! Otherwise I would have been burnt to a crisp lol! It was BYOB and the pontoon owner had several floats so we could relax in the water and sip adult beverages. We also brought snacks. We arrived at 9 AM and headed back at 1 PM. You have to time the day with the tide. The water was about waste deep. It was so much fun! There were floating cafes and gift shops nearby. There were also smaller boats that passed buy with food, drinks (non alcoholic), shirts and hats. If we saw something we liked we waved at them and they would stop by and let us get a closer look. If you've never been you must do it at least once. I promise you'll have fun (if you like boats and water)!
