We came by around 9pm and we were greeted right away. Our server from dinner had recommended their affogato so my fiancé ordered that and I had my eye on an ice cream sandwich. I chose an ice cream sandwich with sugar cookies and lemons crunch ice cream. The cookies were so soft but strong enough to hold together as I chowed down. It was a delightful treat I'd been waiting for and the perfect ending to our last day in NC. The shop was clean and cute! We will be back on our next visit to this area. read more

Always the greatest ice cream sandwich you will ever have. One thing I love is they haven't raised their prices!! You spend 5 bucks and get a massive ice cream sandwich with super fresh cookies. They always have great flavors of ice cream. This time they had a lemon crumble. I wish they had snickerdoodle which is my favorite but their chocolate chip was super gooey and really good. Service is always very friendly and the tables by it are always clean. Such a great place to stop off 321. read more

I absolutely adore this place because they have the most exquisite sugar cookies. Sugar cookies are so often under or overcooked but blue deer does them perfectly, 10/10. It's a simple cookie so it has to be done right and Blue Deer does them right. And every time I've been they are always super sweet and friendly. I love this place!! I'm sure they have lots of great stuff in addition to sugar cookies but as a sugar cookie snob I wanted to weigh in on those. read more

I have been in multiple times and the baristas are always so happy and friendly! They love suggesting their favs and their suggestions are always on point with whatever I'm feeling for that day ! Super cute and very clean atmosphere, as well as a cozy vibe! The ice cream and coffee is such a treat! And such a family friendly environment! Can't recommend enough! read more

I came across this quaint little trailer on a rainy afternoon in Boone. Luckily I didn't have to stand in line very long. I had the standard chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich it was delicious. Unfortunately they don't have coffee here. But the reason I'm giving it five stars is the two girls Who were running the operation that day were very helpful. Even though they didn't serve coffee they gave me a lot of great local recommendations. Be sure to stop by and support this local business. read more

Cutest place ever on the side of the road between Blowing Rock and Boone. Outdoor seating only. No restrooms. Perfect for late nights in the High Country. Prices are reasonable. I think it cost me $3.50 for 2 cookies and a glass of 1% milk. I normally hate cow milk , not sure why I ordered it, but it was delicious. I convinced my friend to try it because it was so tasty. I ordered the original cookie (chocolate chip) and a confetti cookie. They were both really good, and also not the best cookies I've ever had in my life. My friend ordered the double chocolate cookie sandwich on coffee ice cream. I didn't try the sandwich, but I had a bite of her ice cream and it was divine. Highly recommend. read more

You can also make your own ice cream sandwiches or a sundae which consists of two cookies, two scoops of ice cream, drizzled with chocolate syrup or caramel. So yummy, especially post-hike. I had pumpkin ice cream in a chocolate chip cookie sandwich. The combo was great. Was it the best cookie I have ever had? No, but that is going to be pretty tough to beat. The ice cream did not melt fast which is great to pace your eating. The spot is super cute, I just wish it were not next to a highway or a little more hidden to add to the ambience. The people seem super nice running the spot. This place was just plain fun. The trailer, picnic tables, corn hole... even the giant billboards standing tall as a back drop. The whole fam had a good time. Oh right. And the ice cream and cookies. Although sort of an afterthought, those were darn good too. I suggest going for some vanilla stuffed between the original (ie chocolate chip) cookie. read more

Blue Deer Cookies is exactly what Boone needed - a locally owned business that offers something unique to the area... ice cream sandwiches! They have a number of different cookies and ice creams to choose from. Both times I've visited I've gotten the graham cracker cookie with chocolate ice cream. It is a delicious combo but you can't go wrong with any of the choices! They are conveniently located between Boone and Blowing Rock so visitors from both locations can enjoy. Great cookies, ice cream and decor! The staff is friendly and very helpful! I usually opt for the traditional chic hip and vanilla. The chocolate cookie with any ice cream is equally yummy. They have really good cookies and coffee. It's also such a nice spot to sit and get some work done. Employees are always so nice and it's really welcoming. I constantly see employees wearing masks and wiping down tables. Definitely stop by if you haven't. read more

What a fun little place! My toddler and I stopped to try the cookies after seeing the signs from 321. They also had ice cream, so we got a chocolate and a sugar cookie they also had graham cracker and double chocolate), and some milk, and then a small cup of mint chocolate chip. I'll admit that I don't love a lot of sweets, so I'm picky about my dessert, but these were great! Soft and chewy, not sickly sweet, and the chocolate in both the cookie and the ice cream had a nice dark bite. Really nicely done. And whatever milk they use was delicious! Established in 2018.

We opened Blue Deer Cookies in May of 2018 with the hope of bringing something new and exciting to the areas of Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Not only did we want to offer a new and awesome dessert option, but we also wanted to offer customers an experience unlike any other in the area. Our vintage, yet newly restored, camper sits on the side of Highway 321, surrounded by strings of lights and picnic tables. Our menu consists of a revolving array of delicious homemade cookies along with Homeland Creamery ice cream from Julian, NC. Each of our cookies are baked fresh daily on the camper, and can be enjoyed with a glass of cold milk or lemonade! Customers can customize their own ice cream cookie sandwich or simply enjoy a couple of cookies or a scoop of ice cream separately. We want our customers to have a great overall experience, down to the very last detail.

The cheesecake cookie may be one of my favorite things ever, chewy and spiced perfectly, their ferrero rocher one has deep chocolate flavor. Family loved the chocolate chip, sugar and animal cracker flavor. Highly recommend. When we were in our way out of Boone heading back home we stopped and grabbed another 6. I also should add that ordering ahead will save you about 20 mins.

We happened to be lucky enough to be spending a couple of days close to this gem of a coffee shop…read more We stopped in the first day because I heard someone in the lobby of hotel mention she was enjoying a Peanut Butter & Jelly Latte from the shop nearby. We walked over and we were so glad we did! By PB&J Iced Latte was so good! The cold foam on top was so yummy and the drink really did taste like a PB&J. The Iced Chai was also delish! It was spicy and not overly sweet. We stopped by before we left town the next day - for one more PB&J Latte, another Chai as well as the Blackberry Lemonade and a few baked treats for the road. The Blackberry Lemonade was a fun drink - icey and refreshing! (It was pretty sweet, but also tart - really good) The staff were SO welcoming (especially the sweetest baby ever at the register ) Everyone behind the counter was smiling and actively working which is why our drinks were ready fairly quickly both days despite the crowd. The shop had fun little gifts and stickers which tempted us while we waited. We were happy to see so many Gluten Free treat options - they were all individually wrapped which made them even safer for our son with celiac. This is a great place - we will definitely stop in next time we are in the area!

And the food options are plentiful as well. Not just your typical bakery items, but a full menu with savory options, wraps, bagels, sandwiches, you name it. My all time favorite here...the piled high turkey club on an everything bagel. You can't take small bites on this one. Full of flavor, fresh and delicious. If you have time, make a morning pit stop here. You won't regret it.
