I'm not really sure what's wrong with the rest of the folks, but our experience with Blue Dream has been outstanding. Dan, Bonnie and the team are freaking awesome. Dan is a local resident and business owner. If I have a concern, Dan has called me directly and addressed it. I've never had an issue with the quality of work or customer service. His team has supported us on weekends and holidays at no extra charge. Same day or next day service. BDPs built our pool during COVID, they told us up front there were supplier issues, and some manpower problems, so we dhould expected some delay. This is pool number 4 for us. You have to be patient about the schedule. Yes workers will just show up randomly because their previous job was finished early. Those contractors, in my experience have NEVER called a customer to let them know they will be showing up to do work. If you can't be flexible with the pool schedule.... you do not need to be a buying. As for this guy Don J.... his pool turn green because of neglect on his part. Unless something has changed, i don't recall BDPs proving pool cleaning services. So if Don J. Needed a new $180 filter, He should have purchased it. He didn't have pay BDPs price the filter. He should have shopped around. That's not BDPs fault for him being lazy and being shopping ignorant. his pool turning green is his fault as well. If you can't take care of a pool... you shouldn't own one. It's funny how Don J. Slams BDPs for the condition of his pool. They provide "Pool School" class which is required to go to (it's required by contract) and you have to sign saying that you completed it. So if he didn't show up or he was sleeping, that's on him. As for the other issues, people use your damn heads! Pools will settle over time, causing cracks, paver shifting, ect... over time. And not everything will be alined 100% perfect. A certain amount of variance tolerance is allowed. Folks need to realize this. Go into your home, there is not 1 single perfectly squared corner, wall and or door frame. It's not going to happen. Unfortunately, we selected Blue Dream Pools to build our pool in 2020. It was and continues to be a nightmare of issues. I don't know about anyone else, but spending significant money on a pool wasn't a fly-by-night purchase for us. This company should not be in the pool building business. This was not the first time we had a pool built. We have lived through the expensive results of not knowing what should and shouldn't be expected of the pool builder. He also claimed over-and-over that he never got complaints. Maybe they are used to BSing customers who have never had a pool built or maybe don't know anything about pools. They were obviously not used to being held accountable. The Owner always blamed the us claiming we were difficult to deal with because we held their feet to the fire concerning workmanship and quality of our $52,000 pool and pavers. QUALITY/CUSTOMER SERVICE For this company, the customer is never right. It's always a fight if you question them. Crews did shoddy work and the Owner denied and argued first about the quality of the awful work produced until proven wrong. The crews didn't show up when promised by the Owner. When they finally did show up, they rushed to get the work done. The Owner bragged that he was working on 30 pools at a time. Maybe cut back so you can produce at least one quality product. From Crews to the Owner, this company doesn't care. They were not professional at all. There was no project management whatsoever. The Owner's son was supposed to be the Foreman, but he rarely showed up and never did a Quality Check on any of the work done. Even for basic work done, we had to point out the lack of quality as no one was managing the work, insisted that work be redone correctly all while enduring endless arguments and accusations that we were unreasonable and "off the spectrum customers". That being said, the items that we did point out were basic issues that should have been obvious to anyone looking at the work done. Examples: - Pavers were sinking into the dirt in the middle of the waterfall stands and water was pooling there. We were told that there was not an issue and that it was just the angle we were looking at the pavers. Ultimately, my husband had to bring out a level to prove to the Owner and the subcontractor the problem before they would acknowledge the validity of the issue. - They installed a step outside of the pool and it washed away with the rain because it was just thrown on top of dirt - we decided to install pavers ourselves instead of having to endure another argument; EQUIPMENT/WARRANTIES Although we requested specific equipment warranty information on numerous occasions, nothing was provided. They threw out a company name and said look it up online. No paperwork for any of the equipment was provided to us and now we are experiencing warranty issues. We have had to piece together who to contact for warranty issues and find the serial numbers/model numbers for the equipment. WATERFALL LIGHTING STRIPS Here we are almost three years later and we discover, yet again, another expensive install problem. They had to replace the first set of light strips less than a year after installation. It took them several months to come back, but only after numerous phone calls and emails to the Owner. While replacing the lights, the Blue Dream Pools guy broke all the door latches that seal the lighting connectors in the waterfall frame, but didn't say anything. We discovered that on our own and again went back to Blue Dream Pools to get them replaced. Both of the replaced LED waterfall lights died within two months of replacement. When we contacted Blue Dream Pools we were basically told - too bad, the warranty was only for one year, call the manufacturer. Now it turns out that the original cabling for LED light strip was somehow installed incorrectly which resulted in burnt connectors between the waterfall lights and the cabling. The 100' lighting cable that runs from the waterfall housing, underground to the pool equipment must be replaced - $300 each per cable. Blue Dream Pools refuses to respond to our emails asking what they will do to right this costly error made by them. Also, we discovered after talking to Pentair (our equipment company) that they didn't register the equipment they installed. Additionally, we learned that there was an additional three-year warranty that we could have received if the equipment had been registered. We have given up on Blue Dream Pools doing the right thing. read more
