    all local shirts - cute!
    Jennifer Y.

Love love love love love this place and can't recommend it enough for people looking for local swag, souvenirs, or keepsake "Austin" or "Texas" stuff!!!!! Atown's sister store but a bit more "open" feeling. The employees here were super nice and very helpful. The price of their stuff is honestly not bad for what they offer. I love picking up local shirts here. They have supee cute designs and I love the fabric. Most of them are a poly-cotton blend and this makes for a very soft feel. They also have super trendy souvenirs, clothes, glasses, socks, bags, hats, candles, soaps, jewelry, bathing suits and even kid's stuff/toys. I probably left out a bunch of other stuff they sell so make sure to go check them out yourself! I got a souvenir cup and a tshirt while I was here. I love all the different fun things they have here but most of all I love that they support local businesses. Words can't describe what this place has to offer so check out the pics I posted and/or go see for yourself!! Plenty of parking is available since they are located in a plaza. Just make sure you look for them next Jimmy John's and Francesca's. Their signage is kind of hidden behind a tree.

So I discovered Blue Elephant this past Sunday while I was walking around waiting for the Paper Place to open. At first glance I thought, "Whoa, there is some pricey stuff going on in here." Then I ventured to the side of the store with all the nice lotions, soaps and candles; and found myself completely entranced. The L'Occitane de Provence hand cream might be the greatest thing ever invented. I also went through the numerous candles and diffusers, soaps and perfumes. I managed to kill a lot more time than I expected, and left with a great birthday gift for Mom. I discovered this store on accident and plan on going back for more! I didn't spend much time looking at the clothes, because I am pretty sure they are out of my price range, but I'll look more closely the next time I am in.

This is a really nice spacious boutique with lots to offer. They carry hair care products (such as bumble and bumble along with other harder to find brands), cosmetics (such as smashbox and bare minerals), accessories, and clothing ranging from the affordable ($5 sale items!) to the high end brand names (Marc Jacobs, seven for all man kind, joes jeans, etc). I do think some of their store brand pieces are overpriced, but just look around for a good deal. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw most of their designer jeans for just $50! Obviously the brand name products make this place a luxury for some, yet things are priced lower than in most other places. The sales girls were friendly and asked if I needed help a few times. I'm not sure how much attention you need while shopping tho so I don't understand the complaints in a few of the other reviews. I like to browse freely and just ask for help if and when I need it. Also, they carry so many different products it's hard for them to be knowledgable about every single one. It is a boutique after all, not a department store. Definitely a great place to check out with so much to look at :)

They only sell quality products, and they treat them that way too. :)

Cute boutique for gifts. I came here looking for a dress- clothing wasn't my style, but I think I would come back to shop for a unique gift.

I popped into the first store, Kindred Spirits. It could be described as store that makes you feel at home. There is a pleasant aroma in store as you enter...very comforting and inviting. They have quality goods. I liked that the clothing were spaciously hung on the racks. Interestingly, nothing of their clothing had bright colors, which are my personal favorites. I did enjoy perusing the store. In this boutique you can find a variety goods tops (long-sleeved, short-sleeved and cropped tops), jackets, dresses, skirts and accessories. The clothing are not fad-like with a very conservative feel. You will be able to wear these clothes for years and decades to come. Importantly, they are focused on environmental sustainability and social responsibility Similarly, the prices are a bit more for these clothing than the average boutique. Should've gone for another tattoo instead. But I digress. This was my third and final visit. Each time I've come in, it's been clear I'm not welcome--neither I nor my money, apparently. My first visit was after dinner at Santa Rita, my usual post-work go-to. I'd been curious about your boutique--since you can't see into the store from the street--and I'm not one to judge a book by its cover (a little something I suggest we all try). I was completely ignored by the cashier, but I brushed it off. The second time, I brought a friend. While your clothing isn't quite my style, I'd noticed a few charming pieces and thought she might enjoy them. Someone did come outside to greet us and mention more items inside, which was a refreshing change. My friend even returned on her own later and had a good experience. Today, I stopped in again--not for myself, but because I have a sparkly, pink-loving, Kendra Scott-type friend with a birthday coming up, and your store felt like the perfect match. Once again, I came in after work and was met with a flat, unbothered "hi..." from the girl in the green dress, who immediately turned back to her conversation with the woman behind the counter. I browsed quietly, giving the benefit of the doubt--again--while they carried on, clearly uninterested. Another woman walked in and was promptly helped--likely because she matched the aesthetic. I, in contrast, was overlooked entirely. When I walked out, the same girl, parked in front of the counter like an immobile house pet with selective vision, actively avoided eye contact and said nothing. No goodbye, no thanks, not even a glance. Message received. Maybe it was the tattoos. Maybe the black clothing. Maybe just the assumption that I wouldn't be spending anything. Wild, considering I had every reason to judge her in that pretend "old money" dress--but didn't, and that's beside the point. You've lost a customer, and the referrals I was more than happy to send your way (most of which do actually fit your aesthetic). Still, I genuinely hope the shop survives--though with a hidden location, zero visibility from the street, and an overwhelming number of sale tags (which tracks--$50 for matches?), I wouldn't bet on it. Signed, Less impressed with you than you clearly were with me. P.S. While it's disheartening, it is not at all surprising to see other reviews echoing the same complaint: poor, unwelcoming service. You can defend your staff's "intentions" all day, but in the real world, actions are what matter. Do better, babes. Longevity doesn't mean relevance--it just means someone's still footing the bill.

However, this time was a lot different and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friend's birthday as well as fun items for myself. It seems like the selection has remained the same although Atown is keeping up with current and modern trends. For example, there were a lot of ICE based items tucked away as well as current celebrity crushes who are on everybody's minds. The coolest thing I found was a James Talarico candle but other than that, a lot of the items that were for sale were pretty kitschy and I believe they are the same wholesale items I have seen before. I must shoutout the incredibly helpful service from Audrey who went above and beyond to help me find items for my friend's birthday. She was super sweet, and I would've been wandering around the store aimlessly if it wasn't for her direction. Additionally, she even came up with combination gift ideas which was pretty sick. Atown is lucky to have her! I think my PTSD is no longer because of her assistance. Great store, unfortunately high prices. However, no one does it like Atown!

There are 3 or 4 separate areas you can visit and they have things from locally made earrings and art to coasters, desk plates, rubber ducks of famous people, religious candles with random famous people, funny socks, clothes, and so much more. The staff is friendly and outgoing, they even had a woman at the door greeting you and offering you a hand basket if you wanted or needed one. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and at least one lady walking around greeting you and seeing if they could help. It is pricier then your chain store but the products are cooler, unique, and many times locally made. Things you can't get at other stores or amazon. Like so many places, it's one downside is parking. It is a small lot, if you part in front you basically have to back in to spot blocking traffic or back out into traffic. There is a small side lot that is better but you basically have to 3 point turn out of that spot. Always willing to pay a bit more to support local. We don't get out of our area/comfort zone much but we do love this place. #Supportlocal
