Having watched wedding planners crater and fall the day of, and have it on occasion affect the transportation part of it that I am involved in, we are sort of an interested party. What I watched was a woman that was smooth, and effortlessly on top of everything, even making sure that I was fed as a driver as a bonus. She was responsive, and literally didn't miss a single thing as far as I could see. I have attended a thousand weddings. I think if I were getting married, this is the one I would choose. They would not return our deposit after covid caused us to cancel our 2020 wedding plans (due to…read morestate laws, not our own choice). Their justification was that they gave us until the next year to reschedule, but that's not an option for many couples and wasn't an option for us. This was the only vendor we worked with that wouldn't refund the money. We even gave them time to refund us and a year later still wouldn't budge. I understand how in general the wedding industry won't return deposits because they lost a day where they could have had another wedding, but this was clearly not the case. I would have tried legal action but the deposit amount wasn't worth it (and I'm sure the company knew this too). They took one of the most difficult situations of our lives and made it worse. Please avoid this company.

I love the style and how well they blended the natural environment and elements of our venue into the shots. There's a great balance between the details and the documentary style shots, and candid portraits of the wedding party and guests. Leading up to the wedding, we had no problem getting our questions answered and paying through their online invoicing system. We were able to visit the office and meet our photographers ahead of time and the whole experience was wonderful. We were welcomed with warmth and cupcakes! They pay attention to the details of the whole experience. This is a top-notch company. I had two disappointments (which is the reason why I didn't give a 5-star review. It would be 4.5 if I could!). The first is that photog team did not set up any fill lights for the formal portraits. I should have asked about this ahead of time, but I thought it was standard for professional portraits. At least at every wedding I have been to, there were a few diffusers or flashes set up even if the shooters were photojournalism/documentary style wedding photographers. The faces and eye sockets are more shadowed than I would have hoped. Also, in retrospect, we weren't getting any fun alternate angles for the group portraits, like looking over our shoulders, holding out our bouquets, holding hands, or moving to have a different background such as the lake in addition to having trees as the background. Alas! The second disappointment is that despite two photogs being there for over an hour while there was live music at our reception, we didn't receive a single image of the amazing seven-piece band in action. I would definitely recommend emilie inc. - just make sure you communicate about exactly what your expectations are ahead of time. Once the wedding schedule gets rolling, it is hard to remember your photography wish list. There are more important things to focus on, like being present for your loved ones and celebration! :)

Emilie even called to talk to me about my vision for the wedding on her family vacation to Disney! The ceiling lighting and draping added just the right touch. Everyone loved it. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because the wedding planner realized, at the last minute, that the draping near the door wouldn't work as it was set. I was surprised that Robin didn't realize this before she left. The bride and the wedding planner moved some things around and it worked perfectly. We were very impressed with the work that Maine Event did under very weird circumstances in a very weird space. I would highly recommend them.

He is always willing to talk on the phone or set up a meeting about anything you need! But the real highlight was our actual wedding day. His level of energy, excitement and entertainment is above and beyond. Your wedding guests cannot help but get on the dance floor, it becomes contagious. One of the reasons we hired Amazing DJ was because it was a one stop shop, made it easy. You got a DJ, photographer, photo booth, and wedding planning, plus we did engagement photos ahead of time. No need to coordinate or have multiple vendors. Love love love all the photos. From the wedding, they capture the essence of our guests and feel of the event. So many photos to choose from! Cheryl and Dale, the owners, have a remarkable way of making you feel like family, their attention to detail is spot on, and are extremely responsive to questions. We had been planning our wedding for just under a year during the pandemic and although this was their first wedding season, you would've never known. My bridal party and I stayed the night before at the beautifully built bridal cottage, the hair and makeup team arrived and had plenty of space and lighting to set up in the air-conditioned cottage. The catering team and bartenders that we hired had plenty of space to set up and work, with a full bar and full-size refrigerator, sink for cleaning, and dedicated area for grilling and preparing. Our DJ was set up on the main level on the dance floor ensuring our guests had adequate space for proper celebration. Every question or request we had on the wedding day was answered and met, which was great because that meant we could relax with peace of mind knowing the ceremony site and barn would be ready! The venue itself is so incredibly maintained with acres of green grass, gorgeous hills (makes for excellent photos!), newly built bathrooms, and a brand-new fire pit/patio area, which our guests loved.
