Very quaint look. As we entered the store there was a local delivering fresh eggs. The store was equipped with jams, such as peach chipotle jam, Meyer lemon pear marmalades, spicy apple garlic jams. They were also stocked with various lotions from earth & vine, &. fresh vegetables .

Located in the town of Loomis, you'll find this gem known as Blue Goose Produce. It was a stop on our way back to Sacramento from Nevada. This was my first time here, and it was fully stocked when we arrived mid-afternoon. According to some reviews, their stock is seasonal, so call ahead to be sure. There are a good amount of parking stalls directly in front of the store. I didn't check prices, but I'd imagine they are reasonable since this is a locally-owned small business. The lady working behind the counter was very nice, and the store was very well kept. The fruits being sold looked fresh, which is what we all like! They do have a restroom to the right, behind the black latched door. Keep it latched, as the sign says. I would come again if passing through the area. I recommend it for sure!

Nice little produce shop with very nice people inside and a great Scotty dog named Max. Got some mandarins, and was on my way. Definitely would like to stop here again and see what else they might have.

The Blue Goose Produce is a quaint speciality store that sells fresh local produce. They also sell their own line of sauces and marinades, in addition to local honey, cheese, olive oil, dried fruits, sauces, jams, and marinades from various farms. The store is north of High Hand nursery and like High Hand nursery, the building is in a renovated packing warehouse. When I visited, mandarins and fuyu persimmons were in season. 5 pound bag of mandarins for $8. The persimmons were $1.99 per pound. The pricing was affordable, cheaper than some grocery stores. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable about the majority of the products.

There's an off season. I did not know that. I have to come back in June

This is a provisional review. I did not realize that for a good chunk of the year they do not have fresh produce. Or much of it. I will have to go back in June, when they have enough fresh produce. I arrived to find the shelves mostly barren. See my picture. I ended up buying four navel oranges, $1 worth of carrots and three cosmetically challenged tomatoes. The oranges were meh. I had missed results on the carrots. The tomatoes were the best, but they were nothing to go out of your way to get. The sign out front lists pies for sale. I found some frozen meringue pies. Not what I expected. The guy who worked there was nice enough. After leaving the store I went to Newcastle Produce and they had no local produce, either. It was either from elsewhere in California or from out of the state. A lot was from out of the country.

The best place in Placer county to find fresh Mandarins. All sweet and easy to peel as well as being seedless.

Plus, the history of the area, and how it came to be, is equally impressive. This is one of my favorite orchards in the area. The bags of Mandarin oranges are always fresh. I came to get gifts for a holiday gift exchange and they have a good variety of product to select. It includes candles, fudge, syrup, cookies, vinegars and much more. They also carry my absolute favorite Mandarin marinated salmon. It is amazing. Last time it was uncooked, and this time smoked. The owner is very personable and helpful and it's just an easy place to come and shop, and, again, it's supporting a local business. One of our agricultural type places we should support to thrive. It's a great place, GO!

The 10 lb bag for $22 isn't as good a deal, maybe because you are purchasing the cardboard box? You can also buy crates for $50, which is the best value. I think a crate contains 40 lb. This has been the only farm I have seen so far that allows you to purchase so huge a quantity, especially so early in the season. Mandarins are juicy. The strawberry farm is family owned and located not too far from other businesses in the area if you wanted to find something to eat or find somewhere else to hang out afterwards. There was a food truck, Laopino, that had delicious lumpias, music, a bubble machine, plus a few games and activities to keep the little ones occupied, and shaded tables to enjoy your fresh harvests. :) Tickets are only available online. Weekend tickets are released on Thursdays at 7 pm. When choosing our date and time it shows we only had an hour to pick but really we got to take our time and enjoy our morning. I feel they show you have a one hour slot to help stagger guests in. I love how they had a little gift shop set up, another tent with fresh flowers, drinks, and beautiful cookies at the register to purchase. The strawberry fields had plenty to choose from. We saw lots of bright red ones varying from all sizes. The staff also informed us there were 6 types of strawberries being grown! My kids enjoyed only for a short while and mainly wanted to stay in the kid area. There are also plenty of photo ops on the farm too! We would absolutely return in the future. Highly recommend!
