They always tried to see me the day of when I'm in pain and are so nice about it. The appointments are quick and both the dental assistances and dentists are gentle when cleaning teeth. Both dentists are great so it doesn't matter who you see! There's parking in the back lot or street parking right in front. I went for an appointment recently and they screen each patient and check their temperatures. They wear face shields during the procedures fo protect themselves, which is important since they do not want to get sick. I saw all the staff members (not just the front desk person) clean surfaces, door handles, thermometers, etc. after each patient.

I had 3-4 other dentists around Boston to Quincy and you will be glad you decided to choose this establishment. From the front desk, the space is very clean, modern, warm and inviting. The staff is amazing, very very friendly, knowledgable and I can see how well they do with children, so the kiddos are in great hands and made very comfy. I had an issue with sensitive teeth out of nowhere and they made time to address my concerns right away. Not only during the routine cleanings and or need for fillings, Dr. V does an amazing job taking the time to explain everything to you so you can better understand your symptoms. You have not been to a good dentist, until you've tried Dorchester Dental. I'd put my money on that hands down. I don't think I would be able to find a better place to entrust my teeth to! Other Dentist officers from Harvard Vanguard to Gentle Dental and a few other private practices I've been to just rush you in and out and to be honest have had many half a**ed work done that I had to come back to get redone (multiple times). Dorchester Dental is so refreshing. I would even come here to hangout because the people here are so inviting and friendly. Best of luck and I'll see you guys for my next appointment!

Dr. Shin is a professor at Tufts School of Dental Medicine and has decades of experience in family dentistry. I first saw Dr. Shin in 2012 to treat a major gum infection that required a significant amount of work and I continue to trust him with the care of my teeth. Since seeing Dr. Shin, I have had fewer problems with my teeth and gums (and in recent years, I have needed no dental care outside of regular cleanings and annual X-rays). Both Dr. Shin and Patty, the dental hygienist, are very professional and friendly. They will take the time to help you understand your procedure and feel comfortable!

He's really chill when it comes to talking to patients, and he's really good at explaining everything. I didn't feel dumb when I had to ask him to define some terms for me. I liked that after my visit, he offered a few options for my dental care, making me feel like an equal participant in the convo rather than just being talked at. And he's really reasonable when it comes to costs too. His office is in a rough area, but his building is secure, and there's free parking in the back.

I Would Not Recommend due to Extremely Poor Communication…read more After my initial X-ray visit, I was told the doctor would contact me virtually to review the results since I'm not local. When I didn't receive a call, I followed up and spoke with Miranda and the experience was incredibly frustrating. She was extremely difficult. Instead of helping, she was combative and dismissive. We went back and forth on the phone for about seven minutes over a simple request: arranging the follow-up call I had already been told to expect. I had to ask multiple times before she finally agreed to have the doctor call me directly. When I asked when I could expect the call, she told me the doctor is "busy all day, every day" and couldn't provide even a general timeframe. That response was unprofessional and unnecessary. I completely understand that doctors are busy but basic communication and courtesy should still apply. This interaction made an already stressful situation worse. I hope management addresses how patients are spoken to, because no one should have to push this hard just to receive follow-up.

Dr. Pham cares about your overall health and wellbeing, she even arranged extra time to sit with me and chat about other issues related to sleep and breathing (all important to oral health). Overall my experiences at Dental1 have been great, the office is so cozy with a welcoming and helpful staff. I always look forward to coming for my appointments. I've also grown an affinity with watching home renovation shows now because it was always on the screens when I'm in the dental chair.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the experience with this dental office was so disappointing…read morethat it deserves to be documented. We waited over a month for an appointment, only to have it canceled the day before with no meaningful explanation and no effort to properly notify us in advance. The next available appointment they offered was another two weeks out, which already demonstrated a lack of respect for patients' time. The day of the rescheduled appointment, I drove over 40 minutes through heavy traffic and arrived 11 minutes late for a 4:30 PM appointment (we arrived at 4:41 PM). Despite the office not closing until 5:00 PM, the staff refused to see us because the doctor "wanted to leave in five minutes." After waiting six weeks in total just to be seen, being turned away over a few minutes -- especially when they themselves had already canceled once -- shows an astonishing lack of professionalism, flexibility, and basic empathy toward patients. Life happens, traffic happens, and most healthcare providers understand that. Instead, we were treated as if our time had no value whatsoever. When an office cancels on patients but refuses to extend even the smallest courtesy in return, it speaks volumes about their priorities. The entire situation left us feeling frustrated and disrespected. Based on this experience alone, I would not recommend this place under any circumstances. Patients deserve professionalism, communication, and basic consideration -- none of which were demonstrated here.
