It was a challenge finding parking but when we did, we excitedly walked to the park anticipating the enjoyment we would all have. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were greeted with multiple signs advising that the park does not allow dogs and encouraging people to walk their dogs around outside the park. We did that, as well as attempting one of the trail options but we have better options for that without driving here, hence the two stars. We also understand the necessity of not allowing dogs is specific locations so this review is for anyone researching because the Internet has told them this is a dog friendly place. It is not.

I picked the largest pine cones, hidden in hubby's hoodie (I didn't have a bag), to experiment on. The Magnolia tree greeted us, as we entered the park, was in full bloom. I think it's scented, too! My favorite about this park, was the playground. I spent more time swinging with the youngest grandson, and watching him and his 8 years old playmate (friends since toddlers), and walking around to the nearest creek & bridge. If it wasn't feeling like about to rain, we could have stayed much longer! Oh, they also have to drive back to Portland, today, so off they go, and we stayed longer.

We booked two kayaks for $50 each for a three hour self-guided tour on the canoe trail of Klamath lake. This was the best deal we could find in the area, and it was well worth it. We had so much fun, and the rental equipment was of good quality. Just remember to bring sunscreen and water. We booked our tour the day of and it worked out, but I would recommend booking in advance. This is a small operation, and we felt terrible that they had to get our rentals ready with such short notice. They did everything perfectly, from communication to the meeting spot to punctuality, but please don't do what we did and book in advance if possible!

Sadly the resevoir was shockingly low and what would have normally been nearby water views were limited. Our campsite had water and power and everything worked well for the entire stay. There are two dump stations near the entrance. When the park is full I suspect the dump station could get crowded. There are playgrounds for the kids in between the major campground areas. Restrooms and showers were decent. It's a well maintained campground especially for a public one.

I must say the food was incredible for the price it tasted authentic and like someone really took the time and love to make this food. I would Absloutly reccomend this place to anyone who is in the area. The views of the lake are Absloutly stunning this time of year the way the sun glances off of the water. When we finished our meal a problem with one of our bikes appeared which lead us to having to leave one of the bikes up here. Sheresa was a saint by letting us store the bike next to the restaurant keeping it away from anyone who was around while we went and got a pickup to bring it back home. It was out in the middle of nowhere and the woman we were communicating with didn't answer any of our calls or texts. I even called the main number and left a voicemail and no one called us back. She then tried to tell us that she screwed up and told us the wrong cabin and instead of cabin 47 we were supposed to be in cabin 48 except my dad tried our code at all the surrounding cabins and none of them worked. We then had to drive an hr to a bathroom and to find a hotel at midnight for our family to stay at last minute. We were lucky that we were able to even find a hotel that had some vacancy. It was extremely upsetting, frustrating, and put our family in an unsafe situation.
