The OG flagship park for Medford. Gone is the huge wooden play structure we grew up on where battle wounds were earned from hitting your head running up and down the labyrinth of stairs and hiding spots. Gone are the onslaught of splinters, burns from the hot metal slides and being attacked by the countless wasps hiding in the nooks, crannies and roof peaks. Even back then, this was the park to go to! Fast forward to a recent refresh, the playground is still sprawling and super diverse, something for everyone! Wood has been replaced by plastic and metal but the laughter of kids as they run wild is still here. The only downside is maybe the lack of parking, but on hot summer days you'll find the ice cream truck posted up in the lot closest to the playground. What I really love about this park is that's it's more than just a playground. The greenway cuts through it making bike riding an awesome option. Keeping in that theme, there's a BMX style dirt track with whoops, table tops and fat banks and burms. A comprehensive skateboard park, tennis courts, a huge open grassy area, covered seating for parties and a large dog park round out this sprawling Medford classic. read more

Sadly, the bear house and little kids playground was burned on or about Feb 8, 2023. Luckily the play area for older kids is still there. My 4-year-old was sad that she couldn't play bear; hopefully the bear house will be replaced. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful! read more

Our grands, 7 and 3 were visiting and we went to Bear Creek Park two different days. There was plenty to do for both kids. Park was in beautiful condition and very clean. Big plus there weren't a bunch of homeless wandering around. read more

Beautiful family park to enjoy the outdoors, also nice for walking. The day I visited, it was FULL of people out enjoying recreation and I love to see that. Nicely maintained park, beautiful area. We were traveling but like to visit parks as we travel. We will be visiting again! Lovely fall colors in November. read more

Lovely walk along Bear Creek but, because of the homeless population, I don't recommend going alone.

It's a beautiful park, and the drinking water spouts provide a perfect shower for the transients. DO NOT drink from their local source. Not that we do, and especially now. But it's EXTREMELY unhygienic for those kids playing around and sneaking in a drink before you catch them! The parking lot is almost always full of people smoking and playing music from their cars with all doors open (you can't hear your child scream, keep an eye on them! I was more than impressed with this Medford park. I was out of town with my son and his two little ones. While he was working I took The kids to the park. They had areas for younger ones to play, Very well done with ply mushrooms to jump on- and low play equipment. The coolest was the chair on the glider, grandkids loved and it was easy to push to get them going. Also, very impressed they had something similar for kids in wheelchairs- very ADA minded. Kids loved it! It's clean and big. We were waiting for our hotel room to be ready but kids were not ready to leave the park when the rooms were finally ready. We ended up coming back while we were visiting for a few days. read more

Great playground! Huge structures that are all new, December 2018. Large area for 2-5, and huge obstacle course play structure. Totally WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE! Wide ramps, adaptive swings, including an adaptive zip line and swing specifically for locking your chair in on the swing. Indoor plumbing toilets and sinks with running water, although not the nicest restroom I've ever used! read more

Love it, spacious and sunny. Get there early if you want a shady good spot tho. The playground is very large!

I took my two children their and had instant anxiety. Way to many wild disprectful kids, people with tattoos over their faces, young kids hitting each other, older kids cursing and running the little ones over. The new park was a downgrade, compared to the old wooden park. I will never bring my kids back, worst park in medford. Doesn't help that Medford, is becoming a shithole. read more

This is a beautiful park with lots of something for everyone. We walked along a shaded trail and passed a wonderful playground, tons of grassy areas, wandered along the creek, saw the tennis courts, skateboard area and BMX bike park on our way to the doggie park. The dog park was well done - some shady areas, enough grass and trees and water to keep a dog happy on a hot day and friendly people who were cleaning up after their dogs. I'm so happy we parked at the wrong end and got to see the whole park. What a gem! read more

The trails through Bear Creek Park are fine, the tennis courts are alright, and I'm sure everyone loves the skate park/BMX track. I'm simply going to address the dog park and the playground, as those are the two aspects of the park we use. The dog park is huge, and most of the people and dogs are great. However, as with any dog park, there will always be "those" owners who either don't understand their dogs' limits, or don't care. I'm a responsible pit bull owner, so no, I'm not referring to the bully breeds here, just their owners! And this is nothing against the dog park itself, which is great; it has more to do with the people who go to the dog park. As for the big wooden playground, it's awesome and my kid always has a good time here. Never mind my mini heart attacks every time she goes to the other side of the playground and I can't see her... It's fun but you have to walk all around the playground if you want to keep an eye on your kid. There's very little visibility here. read more

Creek walked in Bear Creek and it was awesome! I never laughed so much in my life. I slipped a couple times which sent me and my four year old into the water. It's shallow enough to wade in in a couple spots but mostly shin level water. Beautiful park. Wild blackberries. Peace and quiet. Love this park read more

Bear Creek Park is a great place to play and picnic for a full day. I took my son there to play in his birthday this year and he had a blast playing all over the Leather Associates designed playground (check out their website http://www.leathersassociates.com/). Hide and seek is a must in this maze! There's plenty of shade, grass, picnic tables, tennis courts, a skate park - the list is nearly endless. A great big plus is that it's on the Bear Creek Greenway, so it's easy to reach if you're out biking or hiking. We had a blast and we'll definitely be going back as the weather warms up. read more

DON'T LET YOUR DOG OR KIDS PLAY IN THE WATER!!! The creek is full of sewage from Ashland, Talent, and Phoenix and is VERY dirty. We made the mistake of letting my 6 year old black lab play in the water and she died soon after from a parasite she had gotten from the water. Seriously, don't play in the water. Anyways... The playground is MASSIVE and I would have loved it when I was a kid... heck I still love it :) They have movies in the park during the summer which is a huge event - tons of people show up and it's always a great time... even when the movie sucks! Sometimes they start a dark movie too early and you can barely see, but usually they are bright kids' movies. Dog park is great for well-behaved dogs. Bike path is fun and spans several miles. Tennis courts are lit until around 10:30 PM. There's also a very popular skate park that is usually full of people. There is even a BMX track! This park has everything (except good parking on weekends) just remember... STAY OUT OF THE WATER! read more

All I can say is...WOW! I brought my daughter here at the suggestion of the folks at the Harry and David flagship store (we missed the tour bus and had a couple of hours to kill). Except for getting confused at the roundabout, we couldn't have been happier. The playground here is simply overwhelming. It's enormous, and so intricate. It resembles a castle, with turrets, bridges, and a "moat" filled with tanbark. She could have easily stayed all day. I'm grateful for the recommendation; we will make sure to stop here for some play/rest every time we drive through Oregon! read more

This park over all seems great. It's large, beautiful and you get to take a gander at bear creek whitch is lovely. We mostly use the fenced in off-leash dog park. It's spacious, grassy and a fun place to take your dogs. We have been there a few times and found the other dog owners to be respectful and responsible. Running water for dog pools and dog buckets full of a water. Lots of places to sit for people and a great plus dog poop bags. Everything you need in a dog park. read more

Awsome playground! One of the best playgrounds I've seen on a public park, if not the best. If you're passing thru Medford and need to give your kids a break, this is a great location to have them run around. Not far from the 5. Because of the complex playground design, you pretty much have to follow your kid around. You can't just seat in one corner to see them at all times, it doesn't work this way here. Restrooms are dirty, but hey: it's public. read more

This park is amazing!! Brand new as of late 2018, with lots of fun things to do on the playground. Normal playground things as well as ninja warrior style built in features. There is also a nice Zip line and instruments to play. Looks accessible for all kids including a wheelchair swing. We are from out of town, just driving up I5 and it was the perfect stop for our kids. Much better than anything in our town in California. Nice dog park. The people were all so nice (like most dog parks) and the layout was roomy and interesting. Mable and Missy and I parked and walk but it's a nice walk with a bridge over a running creek. read more

I played at this park when I was a kid (1st & 2nd grade) it was EVERYTHING! I adore this park and if I still lived in medford I would go as often as I could and I don't even have kids yet. I'm 31 years old and I still can remember playing there...wonderful memories! read more
