Within the first month of ownership, my vehicle experienced a mechanical failure and was brought to Blue Knob immediately. They were unable to diagnose or repair the issue in-house and subsequently sent the vehicle to the nearest dealership. At the time, I was expected to work near Detroit, which became impossible due to the breakdown. I was provided a loaner vehicle--a Chevy Impala with worn tires during winter conditions--despite the possibility that I could be required to drive several hours on short notice. For several days, I received no updates regarding the status or location of my vehicle. After initiating multiple follow-ups, I was repeatedly told, "I don't know," until I escalated the issue to management. Matt, the manager, was professional and communicative and ultimately confirmed where the vehicle had been sent. I had a safe in the trunk of my vehicle containing valuable items. Unfortunately, I was unable to retrieve them because I was unaware of the vehicle's whereabouts. To avoid further delays, I personally contacted the dealership and received clear information within minutes--something Blue Knob had been unable to provide after multiple days. By that point, the condition of the loaner vehicle required new tires for basic safety during a 5-6 hour drive. Once my vehicle was finally repaired, I was still required to wait for Blue Knob to retrieve it before I could do the same. During my visit to the service center, I overheard staff making disrespectful remarks regarding my request for safe tires on the loaner vehicle, among other comments. I was also informed that I should not have contacted the dealership directly and instead should have waited 3-5 business days for updates through Blue Knob. While Blue Knob presents itself as highly corporate and professional, internal communication and customer treatment do not reflect those standards. Clients should be aware that concerns regarding safety and timely communication may be met with dismissal rather than support. read more

Having not purchased a vehicle in 12 years I was open to suggestions. My inevitable decision to purchase a vehicle was met with a lot of well it's about time! Followed by you should go to Blue Knob. After about 10 people recommended it, I jumped on their site and began my research. Now before writing this I checked out some other reviews to see others experiences. I think some of the reviewers didn't do their homework and blamed the dealership. So I want to explain my well thought out approach to using Blue knob so that if another person decides to come here they should take all the steps possible to make their experience at the least an A-Okay event. First go to their website and spend time reviewing everything. Then when you find something start researching. Check comps in the area to see that you are getting a good deal. In my case they vehicle I was choosing was about 4K higher with similar mileage at another much more local dealer. That's right kids, this place is a haul from Pittsburgh, BUT to save 4K, I will make that haul. Next get your affairs in order. Are you trading in? Get your title ready. Who do you want to use to finance or are you paying cash? The price on the vehicle is the price. YES that is the price. Don't like it? Then don't come here. They do not haggle, and even though they are called "salespeople" they do not really sale. They are much more order takers. Me I called my credit union and got a pre-approval with a low interest rate that was I pleased with. However, to use them would have required me to make two trips. WAY too much work. Use the banks they deal with. IF you have good credit you will get a decent rate. If you have another bank to refinance through, do that after you complete the sale. It's so much easier to do this way. Next when you find that car, truck, or SUV you want be prepared to move on it. They are not holding cars for you UNLESS, yes that is right there is another tip, unless you fill out a credit application with them online, and are approved, they can hold the vehicle for up to 3 days. This means if you are like me and can't make the venture until the weekend and you know you want a certain vehicle call them by Thursday. Speak to a salesperson. Tell them you want this vehicle and you have x amount to put down and want it held. They will direct you to fill out the credit app. (took 10 minutes) They call you back verify your information, then call you back after they get an approval. Again another 10-15 minutes. Once approved they will hold for 3 days. Perfect. Also now that you have that salesperson on the phone, make an appointment! Don't for the love of God come in here on a Saturday without one. You will be sitting for hours! Next have a backup plan. Luckily I didn't have to resort to mine, but in the case the vehicle is not to your liking, have one or two others ready in your head that you would choose. They have an excellent online presence. Honestly, the most time we waited was for the finance guy who you complete the transaction with. That was about a 20 minute wait. He was efficient and did try to sale the extended warranty but I never felt pressured by any means. Then again I am a salesperson by trade so that stuff is not a big deal to me. Also make certain you have your down payment in either cash or cashier check. They do not accept a personal check and they claimed a CC transaction would not work at high dollar amounts. So get that ready before going. I secured my check as soon as I made an appointment. All in all we spent a little over two hours from start to finish because I did my homework. So the downside of this place. The cars are as is. If there is one key fob, that's all you get. Missing car mats, too bad. Also, even though my car was 15 years old, they gave me a pretty low trade in value. I know I could have gotten more elsewhere but I wasn't taking it back home. Unfortunately there is no way to do your homework as to what they are willing to give in a trade. I wasn't expecting a lot but the tires were worth more than they gave so that was a tad annoying. Furthermore to top my list of grievances, ten minutes after I left my tire pressure/gage light came on. We stopped to put air in a very low tire and continued on hoping the light would go out. It didn't. About 45 minutes into our return commute we stopped again to check and it had lost all air we put in. I quickly called and was told by the service center to come back. I just purchased this vehicle! So we trekked back up the mountain to sit at the service center for about an hour +. They fixed it (bad valve) and we were finally on our way. This last part should not really be considered if you are considering using them, just an unfortunate and frustrating bad luck thing that I am actually happy happened then rather than days later when I am nowhere near the place. Bought 2 cars here over the years. No complaints until I did a brake job on the 2016 Mercedes I bought at blue knob with 18k miles. It was making a grinding noise. 3 of the 4 pads in the rear are worn down to nothing, the one that happens to have the wear sensor in it is almost brand new. Best case scenario, blue knob neglected to look at the brakes before they sold me the car, which is concerning and unsafe. Worst case, blue knob deliberately swapped bad pads from another car onto this one, or replaced only the pad with a wear sensor. I'm thinking it was the former, given that the car currently sits at 18k miles and rear brakes should not have worn this fast. No matter what scenario, blue knob has their hand in it and it is disappointing. I will never go back. It was super fun, Blue Knob. Glad you didn't kill my family. read more

For the most part we had a good experience buying a car here at Blue Knob. The biggest advice that I can give anybody looking to buy a car here is be prepared. We needed to get another car and my wife's coworkers all told her to come here. They said you can't get a better deal on a used car and they were right. The prices here are great and they are all relatively newer cars. They did say to go on a weekday because it gets very busy but we had to go on a Saturday. When we got here it was very busy and kind of chaotic but we were prepared. We did our research off of their website. We knew the car we wanted. My wife made an appointment so that they would hold the car (they will hold it for you for a few days if you get approved for a loan here) for us. We knew all of the documents that we needed before hand so we were well prepared. So even though it was chaotic at the dealership we were taken cared for in a timely matter. We got the keys to the new car and test drove it. We loved it so we came back and said we were ready to make the purchase. Our older car that we were trading in didn't get much for trade in value here. I think we could have gotten more if we sold it on our own or went somewhere else but we were stuck here. We were a long ways from home and we just had to accept their offer for the trade in. It didn't take too much longer and we were out the door. If you come here and you don't know exactly what you are doing it could take a while especially of you come on a Saturday. The one real issue we had was when we started driving home. The tire pressure light came on. To make a long story short we had to bring it back which really sucked. We took it to their shop. They brought the car right in and fixed the problem. I don't know how they didn't know the valve in the tire was leaking and broken in the first place but they fixed it and we haven't had any problems since we bought it. You're not asked how much do you want to pay, and then try to put you in car they want to sell you. How many times have you been somewhere that the sales person gives you the price and goes back and forth between his manager while they try to deteremine how high you're going to go, how bad you want it before they give you the actual price, payment, terms, etc. None of that BS here. I've used Blue Knob Auto the past two times I purchased a car. And each of those times were amazing. My first experience here impressed me so much that when it came to trading in my vehicle for a newer more reliable vehicle, I had to go back. Their website is convienent, you can browse their inventory before arriving and then call ahead to make sure at least your top choice that piques your interest is there for you to test drive. Their inventory is constantly rotating, I had three in mind when I was on my way there and one was confirmed sold by the time I got there. That being said you might find a surprise on the lot as well that you didn't even know was available. (which was my case) The communication in there wasn't all that stellar. I sat for nearly three hours before I was told that the reason for my wait had been because they had gotten me a lower interest rate on my vehicle. They had me sweating bullets. But I completely appreciate the fact that they went the extra mile to make sure I would be comfortable driving home in my new vehicle. Just wish they would have told me what was going on instead of having me sit there and get nervous. read more

Blue Knob has its pros and cons. First the price you see online or on the window sticker IS the set price. They do not negotiate. So at least you know what you are going in with. The salesman are super friendly without being pushy. The problem I experienced was what they wanted to give me for my trade in. It was extremely low and they would not negotiate that price either. It was $4k lower than any other lot wanted to offer me. The sad part was I found a vehicle I was very interested in. I just wasn't willing to be taken advantage of with the trade in offer. I went here on a recommendation from my uncle. We went on a Monday and I have to say I thought that the customer service was lacking. Tom N. was less than helpful. It was like we were an inconvenience in his day. We had to do all the looking up for the vehicle and he didn't have a recommendation for us. It was a "What number do you want?" He didn't discuss our needs or what options they had on the site. He was always on the phone and had us wait. Now I am pre-approved for a loan and was ready to buy that day too. But he let the customer on site wait while he talked to another on the phone...guess he never heard the proverb of a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. However, if I am going to be paying a commission to an individual then I want them to do the work and listen to my needs and determine what they have available. The selection varies and I understand that they turn over the cars fast here. It was an inefficient system for taking a test drive due to the large number of sales reps and people coming here to see the cars. Also, they had staff, on a busy day, moving cars around. Now don't you think, on a busy day, you'd wait until it slowed to move the stock around? Not when there were at least 10 people there looking at cars? Also, they offered me less than blue book for my vehicle turn in. He couldn't articulate to us why they offered so low and they didn't have a checklist where they could show us why it was so low. It seemed very fly by night on their trade in evaluation. I know how it works now, and if they have the vehicle in our price range I might go back but I won't be afraid to ask for another sales rep. Purchased a van from them last year and haven't had any problems with it. The purchase experience was exactly what I thought it was going to be and you can not beat the prices they have, period. They are like here are keys and a plate, let me know which one you want. I am surprised that people are complaining about bad sales people and not being able to find a vehicle? Do a tiny bit of research on the web site before you go. If you don't actually know what type of car you want before you go, ummm don't go till you figure that out??? When you do go, take a list of the ones you want to see. Make sure you have a list, they won't all be there. Then test drive several and get the one you want. That's it. No negotiations, no haggle on price, no "I have to talk to my sales manager one more time" or anything like that. I did get the extended warranty package, I think its worth it. But don't get the $400 clean and protection package, it's a box of fancy wax and ArmorAll type stuff and they wipe it on in about 8 seconds. Just go to AutoZone and get basically the same stuff for 10 bucks and do it yourself. Live and learn. But other than that, its was a great experience. I HATE BUYING A NEW CAR! And I hate going thru the dance at the dealer to do it. 7 to 9 hours of your life you will never get back, no matter what kind of "deal" you get. They are a complete pain! We have purchased our last three vehicles from Blue Knob and have been very pleased, but the experience is not for everyone. If you like to be taken care of and want to add/subtract features from your vehicle this place is not for you. If you want lots of selection, no pressure, and easy buying experience for more common late-model used vehicles, I highly recommend them. Pros: One price, no haggle. LOW prices, I mean the lowest - we are very good friends with a local dealer and we would love to buy from him, but he is consistently $1000 more at least. Great opportunity to drive lots of different vehicles with no pressure. Found us a ridiculously low interest rate. Cons: Customer service has been uneven. First two times was amazing. Third time was a little pushy with the warranty and upholstery protection (no interest, but that is how they make their money). Sometimes odd inventory - no special orders. Just purchased an SUV at Blue Knob. Price was better than Carmax, experience was not good. Traded in car. Low ball offer. Noticed tires were thin and would need replacing this winter. Asked for consideration. "Jim" the manager was summoned. No to new tires, no to lowering the price on the new car, no to raising the offer on the old car, no to everything. Ended up buying the car. Stood in parking lot and pealed off the large price sticker that blocked part of the windshield. Car was filthy outside. At least the car had fresh oil, or so I thought. Car was making an odd engine noise so I took it to a dealer the next morning. Told me odd noise was pinging. The car had been filled with regular gas. Ok, easily remedied. They noted the Blue Knob oil change sticker showed the wrong oil. I asked them to replace with the correct oil just in case. The mechanic sought me out in the waiting area and told me he was not sure what oil had been in the car but it was a heavy gray substance, not honey colored like it should have been. Good thing I replaced the oil. Makes me suspect about anything Blue Knob touched. "Jim" kept telling me the car had passed PA inspection. I suspect Blue Knob does the inspections. Not going to say avoid Blue Knob, but be very cautious. BTW, not or first vehicle purchase from there, others were better experiences. read more

Bought a TLX with. 33k miles. Really liked the car and after a test drive looked the car over real well. The only thing I could see was the front tires looked worn. I mentioned to Tom T. and he talked to whoever he had to talk to without resolution to the issue. We bought the car and 800 miles later took it for annual inspection. Failed due to front tires. The second layer of rubber was showing on the tires. The mechanic said that no way would the tires be worn that much in 800 miles. I emailed them and have not heard anything back. Our family has purchased 3 cars from Blue Knob in the past eight years, and they have all lasted well beyond 100,000 miles. I like Blue Knob's low prices, no haggling policy, and their decent website (http://www.blueknobauto.com). The only bad things I can say about Blue Knob is that: a) they don't give you a whole lot for trade ins and b) their inventory is odd at times in that they will have a ton of cars of the exact same year/model/make. When we purchased vehicles from Blue Knob, we ended up selling the vehicle we were going to trade in on eBay and received about 1.5 to 2 times the amount that Blue Knob was willing to give us for the trade in. read more

We lived in the area and often stopped to window shop which at BK can include driving without an overbearing sales person along. We did that often, and never found the sales people anything less than polite. Eventually we bought my fav. car ever a Honda Accord. That was over 100,000 miles ago. I referred our son in law and daughter as well as a business colleague. Both had very good experience. What a different type of leadership. If you are looking for an ego building experience this probably isn't it. If you are looking for a good car at a good place it will be hard to do better than BK. read more

I bought a Honda Xtour from BK years ago. The Carfax said it was never abused. Three weeks after I am home, I find a panel in the back that is a different color. Yup, wrecked and repaired without reporting to insurance. But I gave BK the benefit of the doubt. Yesterday these guys listed a Honda HRV as being grey and in pristine condition like new. They said they would hold the keys, and I drove 2 hours at night only to arrive and find the HRV was mulberry (purple) and the prior owner who had it repedo pinstriped the car in a dumb configuration. Mike and Tom argued a bit over the color, but the code on the car showed it was mulberry. So they did what BK does, no apology, no price change or help. We got 5 minutes to make a decision and leave - after having bought a prior car from them. Today I am learning that BK gets most of their cars from auctions and they don't care to know what's wrong with them and if they do, they are not telling. Let the buyer beware. read more

While my husband was flustered and trying to find a different vehicle on their computer system, one of the salesmen made a rude comment about him being done yet. We immediately left and they lost our business indefinitely. If you want to shop somewhere that sells cars because of price only and get treated poorly, this is the place for you. I bought a Ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 from blueknob for 28,500.00 I purchased an extended warranty for a couple thousand more and a fabric and paint protection warranty for a couple hundred more  we're now over 30,000 dollars. Well my wife sat in the back seat and said that the seat was soaking wet. I checked and sure enough it was soaked.  I lifted the seat and the storage bin under the seat was full of water  and the headliner was soaked and sagging.  I took the truck in since it was still under factory warranty and the dealer said the truck has a moonroof but it's not a factory installed moonroof so it's not covered under the factory warranty. The extended warranty doesn't cover water leaks either. I contacted the company in Michigan that installed the moonroof and they told me there's a lifetime warranty on the roof but only to the original owner not to me. They said a new moonroof glass with the seal would cost me 400 dollars.  Well I didn't have much of a choice so I had to buy the new glass with the new weather strip seal. You cant buy the rubber seal separate. The guy said its installed /moulded to the glass. The headliner had really bad stait's from the leaking roof that looks terrible. Everyone that gets in my truck says what the hell ihappened to your headliner.  I contacted the company for the paint and fabric protection warranty.  The guy said that only covers the seats for burns and stains sir not the headliner.  The salesman who sold me the fabric protection said it covered the complete interior of the truck for cigarette burns,stains or tears. So heres the deal these assholes at Blueknob sold me a truck with an aftermarket installed moonroof that leaked.  Sold me an extended warranty and fabric protection warrant that didn't cover the water leak, stains or repairing the leak. My husband I bought a 2016 Chevy Impala LT with a V6 engine, we purchased it on 2-25-17. The car is awesome, beautiful condition, interior and exterior, had under 15,000 miles on it, runs like dream. We did a lot of research before we went to Blue Knob, test drove several vehicles before we even went out to the dealer we knew the exact make and model we wanted......we drove from Pittsburgh so it took us about 2 hours to get there, we called that morning and told them the 2 cars we were interested in and they put both sets of keys on a hold board in order for not to be sold before we got there. This is a no haggle dealer the price is clearly listed on the website which is an exceptionally low price compared to big dealers in Pittsburgh like Bariel, and Wright. We got there gave the check in girl our name, she told us one car only had 1 set of keys, so we told her that one was out of the question, she then gave us the second set of keys (which was our first choice car) and off we went for a test drive with a plate in hand. My husband and I both test drove it,we were gone about a half hour, brought it back to the lot and looked it all over several time inside and out and determined this was the car for us. We went back inside told the check in lady we wanted this car and she said someone would be with us shortly to make the purchase. The gentleman which was our finance guy not a salesman, there are not salesmen here, told us it would be a little he had 2 people ahead of us.......we ended up waiting about 45 minutes, which didn't really matter, we had some coffee and people watched :) Once we met with the finance guy he ran our credit, figured out who our car loan would be through, we were done with him in about 20 minutes. After that we waited about 15 minutes with the second finance guy to sign all the papers while they cleaned up our car. This was the only thing we were not happy with, we had to problem signing all the papers but the guy was extremely pushy about wanting us to purchase the extended warranty which we were just not interested in.....he was very nice to us at first and when we put our foot down about not wanting it, he literally turned into a jerk......very short and kind of ignorant to be honest. It didn't really phase us to much and honestly this was the only thing we didn't like about Blue Knob. After we signed the papers our car was outside waiting and we were completely done. All in all it was a fantastic experience, and we will surely purchase more vehicles from Blue Knob, their selection is awesome there is a constant amount of new cars coming in and we love the down to earth prices, no pressure phony sales people and the pleasant atmosphere. I just bought a new car from Blue Knob. I have to say this was the best car buying experience I've ever had. I called ahead to have the car i was interested in put on hold to ensure they didnt sell it before i arrived. I walked in the door and was greeted by a sales person. They asked if i was working with anyone and i said yes the sales manager. They walked me into Lizs office immediately. She called for the car and gave me the plate. After my 1st test drive she had keys ready for the next few cars i had on my list. I test drove cars hassle free for almost 2 hrs. As with everything, people have different experiences. My experience was a good one. I was looking for a particular car and found it at Blue Knob. I spoke with Jonas and asked him to do a walk around for me, as I was driving 300 miles to buy this car. He did so and even took pictures of anything he felt may be of concern.
