My mother, a 68 year old woman, who is on a fixed income went in because her car was starting weird. She asked them to check her spark plugs and change her oil and check her brakes. They ended up doing an inspection on Her whole vehicle quoted her 9,000.00 for everything that needed fixed and then charged her 268.00 for the inspection but didn't change her oil, didnt check her spark plugs didn't look at her brakes. They just charged her 268.00 to quote her 9000.00 worth of things that needed fixed. And did nothing else. DO NOT send anyone into them that are not mechanic savvy in the slightest. If I could give negative stars I would. Eddy is the most unprofessional individual I have had the displeasure of coming across ever. To say the customer service is lacking is more than they deserve I was lied to about the status of my car they couldn't get it fixed correctly and it had to be towed to Utah. Fixed my Mini Cooper right up with the clutch that needed replace. Scheduling was an issue at first but then it all worked out. The major issues that keep this from five stars was that they failed to hook up my water pump hose and I lost all my antifreeze. If I was on the highway I would have lost my engine and would have had to be towed back. I was just so lucky that I was home and it was an easy fix. read more

We had some leaks that we had delayed getting fixed but decided to us them because they were ASE Certified for the car we were getting fixed! As we found out it was more than one area that was leaking. The first repair highlighted different leaks that also needed to be fixed. There was also an issue with some defective parts. Blue Lakes approached it professionally and properly ! While additional leaks were repaired we were only charged for the new issues and the defective parts were addressed under warranty! Our car is now leak free and we paid a fair price. The only negative would be that they are extremely busy and have to prioritize repairs. I understand that in this day of labor shortages. I broke down 45 miles from town as I was passing through and had my sprinter towed to this shop. I cannot describe or overemphasize hownice, accommodating, and thoughtful this place was! It would have been very easy to take advantage of my situation but they were super honest and went above and beyond to get me back on the road safely. My repair took two days because of needed parts and just to make sure I was back on the road to get my daughter to her event in Salt Lake they opened the shop extra early and on a Saturday.! We had the best experience with the added benefit of some of the best conversation I have had in a long while, by the time we left I felt like we were leaving friends not a car catastrophe. Phillips totally saved us from total disaster on our two week family road trip. The check engine light in our rental Sprinter RV came on the in middle of nowhere Nevada. I wish I could give these guys more than five stars. Their shop is the CLEANEST auto body shop that I've ever been to, and their guys are the NICEST auto mechanics too. Maybe it's because it's Idaho. I am from CA, and I never run into such REAL people. Gotta love Idaho! My daughter and I were on a road trip from CA to MT to get her settled into Montana State University in Bozeman. We had the truck packed to the brim. As we pulled into our hotel in Twin Falls, it felt as if we couldn't steer the vehicle. We parked in a spot and saw liquid dripping from below the engine area. I immediately assumed that we had lost power steering fluid. The next morning, I searched Yelp for an auto mechanic. Blue Lake Auto popped up with four stars. I called and spoke with the manager. He said that he was all booked up until Monday. I explained our situation and then I think he must have took pity on us. He told us to drive on over. When we got there, they took care of us right away. I must say that I was very appreciative of the fact that they didn't laugh their tails off after they figured out what was wrong. I had accidentally put the truck in 4-wheel drive! And the liquid that was leaking? From the condensation on the air conditioning unit of course! Maybe they laughed at us after we left, but they were true professionals while were there. If I were a local resident, I would definitely go there for all my auto care needs! read more

Very disappointed! Took my Audi there on a recommendation. My car would just die as I was driving. Seemed to me it may have had something to do the fuel pump, filter or whatever else is associated with fuel issues. Ok, so the car was towed in to be checked out. Got the call a couple of days later and was advised that there were several codes that pointed to problems with the tranny! Huh??? And it was going to cost $3500-3800 to fix it! **GASP** Picked the car up and took it to Ron at AATCO transmissions and explained to him what was going on with the car..He checked it out and advised it was the fuel pump and filter..for a whole lot less" **happy dance** So, bottom line is....if anyone talks transmission repair to you, talk to Ron at AATCO first. He is honest and does great work! Oh yeah... Audi is running great now. read more

Buyer beware! I was on a family road trip and took our rental in to get our brakes looked at because they were making a grinding noise. I explained that we were from our of town and that after they made repairs, the rental agency would pay for the work. I guess they thought they could get one over on us... guy told me that everything, EVERYTHING needed to be replaced. Two sets of Shoes, calipers AND rotors, I needed $1800 dollars in work done. I found all that hard to believe, because of how slight the grinding noise was... There was no way that we could have possibly gotten down to the calipers. His story just wasn't checking out. So I took our rental van over to the SEARS auto center, where I was told that a very small groove in one rotor was causing the sound and that for $70, they would re-surface it for me. Then the tech came over to tell me that if the rotor was resurfaced, he would have to replace the pads as well. He recommended that I didn't get the work done because THE PADS LOOKED RELATIVELY NEW and had so much usable life! Get your car serviced elsewhere! There is a reason they all drive fancy cars! read more

I took my car to a dealer in town because It wouldn't always start. The man at the dealership took my keys and started the car. It started. He gave me my keys and said he didn't see any problems. I drive away and stopped at blue lakes on my way home. They listened to my problems and an hour later my malfunctioning starter was replaced and my car starts everyone. Our car broke down on our way back to Denver, and we were lucky to be sent to this shop! The guys made sure to get our car up in their shop and look at immediately. They called multiple salvage yards looking for a new transmission for us. When we decided we didn't want to put any more money in to the vehicle, they helped us find a salvage yard to buy our car, held it on their lot for a week while we headed home to get the title and send it to them, helped us find a rental car and a taxi to go pick it up.
