I was once very active…read morein the gym and between having kids, a business or two and some prior health issues I had no shortage of excuses for skipping the gym. So I searched out a trainer and fixed appointments to both keep me motivated and frankly because I knew I'd go if I was paying more than a gym membership. I looked at many options in the area and settled on EIF based on their reputation, individualized process, the others I looked at just seemed to be too cookie cutter and cared less what I wanted from my exercise. Originally I planned on getting in the swing of things and then going back to working out on my own at a monthly gym. I now look forward to working out and plan on continuing with EIF indefinitely. Not only do the trainers keep me pushing as hard as I can but they are knowledgeable and helpful on every subject from form, to diet to helping with injuries and preventing them. I've gained muscle, lost weight, and considerably lowered my body fat. My energy levels are off the charts and it's been very easy to accommodate the timing, no more excuses to skip the gym. Joe has been very easy to work with on scheduling and tweaking my program when needed. Highly recommend working with EIF whether you want to lose weight or move more weight....or both.

The yoga classes are decent enough for my need. It's a clean place. No sweaty and musty odors. Not fancy but not shabby either. People at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The sauna and steam room are the deal breaker for me.

Then I found the Fitness Studio at Annapolis. Not only was the space intimate and personal, so were the trainers. Unlike the old gym, the fitness studio is a "one on one" hour exchange between a professional trainer and you. What began as a once a week session "until I got back into shape" is now a twice a week session for life! I replaced my guilt of an unused impersonal big box gym membership, with real results. Recently, she invited me as her guest, so I agreed to give it a try. I was forewarned that the class was relatively intense but worth it, so I showed up mentally prepared to work hard. The studio was clean. The check-in process was simple. The class began on time. The instructor's brief overview of the class and demonstration of the moves before class helped set the tone. During class, she helped with exercise form, especially for novices like me. She also assisted with setting up the reformer, if needed. The class was moderately paced, accompanied by good music. While in session, the room had ambient yet visible lighting, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Following class, I felt the impact of every move. I experienced some soreness for about two days, but it wasn't too bad. I felt the class made a difference. I have attended many exercise classes, but with this one, I felt the impact days later. The instructor was great. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. I will try it again.

Through their workouts and talking about diet they not only helped me lose the 20 lbs. I had gained, they also got me 10 lbs. below that. The transformation from more fat to more muscle was so amazing that I started playing soccer again in my 50's! More importantly, I am no longer a client because they taught me how to eat healthy and work out. Instead of going up to a 36" waist which I didn't want to do when I joined I am down to 32". They did such a good job teaching me that I have been able to maintain my weight loss for over a year now. I went by today after work to set up a membership and there was no staff there. The gym was open…read moreand people were inside working out, but when I called the gym to see why I couldn't find any staff there, the recording lists the times that they are staffed. Every day that they're open there are several hours that there's no one attending, and on the weekends they're only there from 7 a.m. - noon. Note, I don't care about the convenience aspect of needing to go at a different time to set up a membership, but it's a very unsafe idea to have a gym with literally no staff there. I'm surprised that they can even do that, legally. I will be choosing a different local gym to join.

We were literally the first ones there before the crowd to get our space in order. Got to give credit where it's due, he makes our outings super comfortable and our indoor/outdoor set up was the talk of the event. Even in the heat I was cool; I had portable fans, misters, a couch, a rug, people said it was our condo! Lol This was the perfect place for an event like this where the community came together. Plenty of vendors could participate because of the size of the field. Music was great, safe to say that the Boots on the Ground line dance is officially fading out, only the 50 yr and older crowd got up to dance. Bathrooms were not too bad, and I appreciated that there were workers keeping up with the cleanliness of the regular restrooms on a Saturday. Overall for those looking for a "free" event this is a very well put together event.
