We came to Blue Marlin for an early dinner on a Sunday around 4:30 PM before heading to the club, and wow--such a vibe! The setup is amazing: there's a beach section with daybeds where you could easily spend the entire day, a restaurant area, and a DJ booth with a sectioned-off VIP lounge nearby. The whole atmosphere felt classy, beachy, chill yet still popping--exactly what you'd expect from an Ibiza hotspot. The cocktails were great, and the sushi and caviar menu added a luxe touch. Yes, the sushi is steeply priced (about 6 pieces per roll), but you're really paying for the experience, and given Ibiza is a seasonal spot, it makes sense. We loved the black tuna roll so much that we ordered it twice. Our group of 9 mainly focused on drinks and shared some food, and the bill came to about $48 per person. For the quality of drinks, food, and unbeatable vibe, it felt more than fair. The DJ kept the energy high, and the wind blasts during the set made it even more fun. I'd definitely come back again--next time I'd love to try the beach daybeds and stay through the evening for the full DJ set. Highly recommend Blue Marlin if you're in Ibiza! Also, to the people who put 1 star reviews due to the lack of taxis outside of the restaurant - first of all, transportation to and from an establishment is the individual's responsibility. Make sure you arrange your rides! We hired a car service and also got taxi driver cards as we did our research and we knew how hard it can be to get a taxi at certain hours of peak time. Great place! Food was delicious! There is a $25 deposit per person. Loved the ambience and decor in the restaurant! Booked a big bed, which as of summer 2023 is €100 + €500 minimum spend. That price includes some water and a small fruit bowl, but not the towel fee, lol! Yes, it's pricey but honestly most Ibiza beach clubs are. Blue Marlin is a great looking beach club, beautiful sea views and interesting people watching. We thought the food was very good. The sashimi platter was delicious and some of the best sashimi we've ever had. The lobster sandwich was excellent, and the prawn tempura was nice and crispy. Cocktails were yummy - the frozen ones are fresh blended, not machine mixes. And importantly, the service was friendly and helpful. Sometimes, service in these clubs can be dependent on how big a tip the servers anticipate you giving (e.g., did you arrive at the club from your yacht?) but that wasn't the case here. We spent over 7 hours at Blue Marlin, relaxing, eating and drinking. Definitely left feeling it was worth it, particularly compared to how much VIP costs at day clubs like Ushuaia. read more

Back again! Third Sunday I've spent at Blue Marlin this past month, but first time eating lunch (I ate at their neighboring Yemanja last Sunday). I was looking to diversify my food tasting this time around since I had their sushi in 2013 and their bone-in filet last summer (2015). But I got talked into a bone-in tenderloin (450g) and I can't complain! Again, service was great and attentive, I was allowed to dine on a Sunday -- their most popular day! --- without a reservation, and the food recommendations were on point. Yes it's pricey, but when do you ever stumble across places like this? The food and service were decent. My biggest complaint would be the lack of taxi service... we waited TWO hours, along with many other customers. Since there is no Rideshare in Ibiza, the restaurant should consider having some sort of agreement with a taxi service of some sort. We got in the taxi line at 12am (when the restaurant closed) and didn't get into a taxi till 2am, that is unacceptable. We saw restaurant staff leaving from their shifts before we even got our taxi, there has to be a better system. read more

Called a day ahead to make lunch reservations. The restaurant is on the water, with cabanas lining the water. As soon as you sit down, they bring you delicious olives and allow you to choose from a variety of 3 breads, which they also provide an aioli for. Our waiter recommended Dani's Passion for a drink, which was a watermelon drink and very refreshing. We then shared the octopus as an appetizer and ordered 3 sushi rolls. The octopus can pre sliced and had a gelatinous texture on the outside. I ordered a salmon avocado roll, while my boyfriend ordered the black tuna roll and a Waygu roll for us to share. My roll was good, but the cut of salmon in it had a tough white line running through it. I was hungry, so I ate it although it would have been much more enjoyable without having to gnaw through it. The black tuna roll was just ok, with a very minute cut of tuna. We ordered another round of the watermelon drink and sat and enjoyed the views before leaving. Spent one of our Sundays there, over the summer of 2017. We had a cabana on the extreme right side of the venue. As a person, who's been in the industry for over 20+ years, I appreciate all the moving parts that goes into an operations like this. Food was decent, but you're not really going there for the food critic aspect of going there. There were some food delays, but the staff was very well in keeping us informed. Remember, everyone will make mistakes, its the recovery portion that you get judged. And they recovered well. Beach is probably out of their control, so be wary of the rocks as you enter the water. Having a cabana meant a different colored bracelet, and as we were the only ones occupying their 3 cabanas, the security staff weren't fully informed of our color, so they had strange looks, like.. Did we recycle the bands from another day/night? But again, big operations = lots of moving parts. Instead of adding to everyone's frustrations, I simply made my way to the security who remembered us, to get back to the cabanas. Great Sunday out! read more

If it wasn't because how the night turned sour on us, I would have given Blue Marlin a 4 star for food. It was drizzling that night, so they wouldn't seat us outside. The seating inside was fine except for the blaring music for the clubbers on the dance floor. We ordered a few things from the menu, with the shrimp pasta being the most memorable one. Food overall was amazing. What was NOT amazing was the lack of taxi outside of this place -- it is completely remote and at least 20 minutes away from civilization. We found out during dessert that the party before us had waited 40 minutes for a taxi. You would think they could have easily called for a cab while we were enjoying our desserts so after we signed the bill we could just go on with the night -- NOPE. We waited outside which was getting chilly from the wind, behind TWO groups who had been waiting 40 minutes. We waited for 20 minutes, I went inside to find out why they can't call a taxi for us -- only to be greeted with hostility by this guy (I think he was the house DJ) who kept repeating "we're closed! we're closed!" OMFG... chill out -- first of all, I already ATE here 20 minutes ago, and second of all, I've been waiting outside in the cold for too f*ing long! How can an upscale, celebrity ridden place like this not have a good system to transport their customers?? Then I found out from the maitre'd (which btw all of them are UNfriendly -- who needs that?? to feel like you're doing them a favor to come to their restaurant? FORGET IT) that she had called for 4 taxis and they're on their way. Well, 30 minutes later (so that's 50 minutes total), we were waiting along with the rest of the restaurant and club crowd (GREAT). There was no line nor person keeping things in order. The 2 groups before us had been picked up by 2 taxis, and so it was us next in line. We were making sure that everybody is aware of that, and THIS GUY, the RUDE DJ or server or whatever he is, claimed out loud that he was first in line and he is next to get on the taxi with his friend! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? When we confronted him, he said "Hey I work here! So I'm getting on the taxi next!" Hubby practically went off at him and he said "Ok fine, you get the next taxi... fucking idiot!" When the taxi came, we practically had to run and get in the taxi to not have this loser steal it from us! And then he mocked us and made faces like a 5-year old would! This whole experience totally ruined our dinner and our night. I would NEVER go back to Blue Marlin and would NOT recommend it to anyone. No decency at all from the front door to the end. The Blue Marlin is a very trendy beach restaurant, especially with British tourists. The scene here is pretty cool, and the beds on the sand seem to be on the cheaper end for this type of place (live music, popular parties) at only 15 Euro per bed, and we didn't have to reserve it beforehand. Of course, places like this always depend on what event it is going on, but for a lunch meal on the sand, it isn't a bad option. The fish was fresh and the cocktails strong. As with anywhere else in Ibiza, all meals come with bread, olives and garlic mayo - no clue why. I had the ceviche and goats cheese salad... not bad. Compared to the other places on the island, the food quality is quote good, but you do have to pay for that luxury. A small salad was 18 Euro ... man, we spent so much on okay food on this trip ... sadly there isn't much of an alternative if you're looking for a scene. They also have a sushi bar which is always nice on the beach - but again, the quality isn't above the rest. I would personally recommend going to the place just next door, more low key, same great beach, and it's rumored to have better food... just an idea. read more

I have such conflicting views of this place as the first part of the day was AMAZING. However when it was towards the end it really left a bad taste in my mouth. We were quite a big group so we took out 3 beds on the beach. The experience is luxurious - especially the wait service. The food is fantastic - I'd definitely recommend the shrimp tempura and the halloumi sandwich. But similar to Angel's review, it took a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a taxi. What was worse is that we blew so much money there but they were so unhelpful. We would ask every now and then, could you please call to see where the taxi's are. They would give us a blank look and said, we called so wait outside they'll come any minute. I think it took nearly an hour and getting quite hungry. They refused to serve us food in the event the taxis showed up. Definitely check out the place. Drive if you can, if not book your taxi way ahead of time. read more

Food was ok/good but not amazing, the staff was very nice to us. Music is big here, famous DJ's play here and then this place fills up. Famous Hollywood types hang here too. My dinner experience was terrible! Waited for hours poor service staff! 6 gals we ordered a fresh fish grilled with lemon and salt...we ordered the smaller of the two fresh fish and were charged for the larger of the two fish and served the smaller of the two. An incredible setting to have a few drinks and listen the music from the afternoon until dark. Cocktails are large and the scenery is quite nice if you like looking at good looking people and good looking dancers. If you want to eat dinner here I recommend booking your table way in advance. VIP table space is a bit crammed but the general area itself is too so get there early and find an area with your friends or shell out for a table for a little bit of breathing room. read more

the reservation was going perfect. They responded very fast. But in the restaurant it was a total dissapointment. The food was ok but not outstanding. And for the price you pay it's much too expensive. The service`in the `restaurant was the poorest i ever ever experienced and also after sending an email about it to several emailadresses of blue marlin i never had a response. The arrogant way they treat you in that way is really terrible. The waitress was not paying attention at all. All the waitresses were busy with beeing busy and flying like a hungry eagle to the "big" tables because they can serve the big bottles of champagne of course. Really sad...
