I guess there was an earlier check out time? My dogs (2) were there for 24 hours, 5:30pm Friday to 5:30pm Saturday and the charge was $133.00. They came home with extra food? Which means maybe one of them did not get fed the proper amount and a soaking wet blanket. So they were sitting in a wet kennel (water, not urine). So, were they ok, of course, but that is a lot of money to have my dogs sit in a crate. Was is completely awful, no, just not what I would do again.

So I gave them a shot. And I've been going to them for the last four years. I've had a few emergency appointments that I needed to get in for and they got me right in no problem and got me taken care of. My pets see Dr. Jim and he is amazing very thorough, very caring. I currently have a sick baby and he's been following up with me even on his day off, he has called to see how my fur baby was and to go over some test results. And the staff is absolutely amazing. Everyone there is so nice and they make you feel welcomed. Definitely recommend

I have bought seasonal fresh English cucumbers here, fresh laid eggs also available on occasion. I recently bought a sack of granular Plantskydd to put around my new landscape plantings to keep the moose away and stop them from browsing on my plants. Yeah, moose - these buggers are really bad about eating your landscape saplings, shrubs, and certain flowers if you have an unfenced yard on the Kenai Peninsula. A fence around my yard is definitely in my future.

I brought my large breed dog in with an ear infection and met with a traveling vet, not the usual…read more My dog had clear red inflamed ear with the flap filled with liquid. The traveling vet said it was food allergies and tried to sell me a $150 bag of allergy food, then sent us on our way. I explained that Dr W had told me that the fluid could cause long term damage and was ignored. The next several days I watched my dog become lethargic, shaking her head in pain as the infection and fluid became worse. The flap becoming near three inches thick with fluid. I called the vet and sent in pictures of the infections progress, they made me an appointment for the end of the week. At that point she was put on the necessary steroids and yeast infection cream by Dr W. As I was paying I requested a discount because I had already paid for the same appointment the week before. I was told absolutely not by the office manager. I explained that after watching my dog suffer for weeks and having to take two days off of work for vet appointments that this was an $800 yeast infection. After speaking with the vet the manager removed the cost of the appointment and promptly 86ed me, rudely asking me "where to send my dogs records" after years as a client and thousands and thousands of dollars paid. The office assistants mouthed their apologies clearly in fear of the woman in charge. It was hard to watch my dog suffer needlessly and be treated like crap by the manager. Terrible business practice.

The greatest thing about this store is the support it provides to the people of Alaska. From selling products made 100% in Alaska to sponsoring mushers in the Iditarod, this store screams "Alaska Pride." This store also, surprisingly, sells cool Alaskan art and hand-made accessories.
