So I gave them a shot. And I've been going to them for the last four years. I've had a few emergency appointments that I needed to get in for and they got me right in no problem and got me taken care of. My pets see Dr. Jim and he is amazing very thorough, very caring. I currently have a sick baby and he's been following up with me even on his day off, he has called to see how my fur baby was and to go over some test results. And the staff is absolutely amazing. Everyone there is so nice and they make you feel welcomed. Definitely recommend

We had lost a dog that way years ago and so we became very concerned. We arrived at opening time and they got us in right a way. They were very understanding and accommodating. Have always had the best treatment and highly recommend them.

If I could give this veterinarian zero stars, I would. A dear friend of mine had to make the…read moreagonizing decision to euthanize her beloved cat. Dr McCartan was cold and completely callous to my friend and her husband's pain. He did come to their house, but he only brought one dose of the first medication given that helps the animal go to sleep. This medication did not work, and he said, "well, I only brought one dose so I'd have to go back to the office to get more." Then he roughly suggested they just "go for it." Her cat was awake for the second shot and it was traumatic for all involved (except Dr. McCartan, he didn't seem to mind). He then very brashly spoke about cremation in an incredibly harsh and unsensitive way, speaking of the "firing up the oven." This vet has lost his sense of humanity and needs a serious reality check on the way he treats his animal patients and their human owners.

I had to take him to the vet for ingesting pieces of plastic after being there all day for daycare. I know another person's animal has been in a dog fight on two separate occasions, another dog has ripped their paw pads, and when I went in one day to pick up my dog...a girl there was yelling and pointing her finger in a scared dogs face about eating some poo. I don't know why that girl hadn't picked up the poo before a dog could eat it, but it doesn't seem like they are as attentive to the animals as they should be. I will never take my dog here again because they do not provide adequate supervision if there are all these separate occurrences of dogs being injured. Some people might never have a bad experience and that's good. I ignored other people's bad experiences because I didn't know where else to go but I'm not going to risk it anymore. Last note: The first time I took my dog to the other place in town, he absolutely loved it. I know because he started FREAKING OUT the very next time I took him because he was so excited (and he had only gone once the prior day). He NEVER got that excited about going to the Blue Moose for the entire month I took him. In fact he always seemed anxious when I had to leave him waiting in one of those cages.

He loved it so much he would run straight for the gate every time I dropped him off without so much as a backward glance! More recently Russ was kind enough to take our 2 husky mixes for the day while my husband ran Mount Marathon on the 4th. When we pulled up it was the same - we were greeted by a happy group of dogs there to meet my boys. They walked in with no complaints and clearly had a super fun day with their new friends. Kennels are really nice/clean and you can tell Russ loves the dogs. Russ is typically pretty flexible, but it is by appointment only as his business is his residence.
