We used BLUE Painting to paint quite a bit of the interior of our house. Even though our house is only seven years old, the paint the builders used was not great and with two young boys running around the house, the walls were screaming for a refresh (scuff marks, holes/dings, etc.). We loved the service we received. The communication, the complimentary color consultant, and the cost were all excellent. They even painted while we were out-of-town so that we didn't have to worry about wrangling our boys while they painted and were able to come home to a fresh house! 10/10. 5 stars. I would not recommend Blue Painting AT ALL. I was shopping around for an exterior painter for my stucco house and decided to go with them after talking with Max. It seems Blue Painting does not have professional painters who work for them, rather random day workers who are nice enough but do very mediocre work. The paper work Blue Painting gives you says they will, "pressure wash, days in advance" and "scrape all peeling and flaking paint." None of that happened. Instead the crew showed up unannounced with no representative from Blue with them. The crew started spraying paint without scraping any part of the house. I was told,"they would prime after the first coat." This doesn't make much sense nor did the house get primed after the first coat. I was told the home was finished, I walked around my home to find that many places were peeling off from not being prepped properly. I contacted Blue Painting, Max came out and agreed that the job done was not representative of their work. A crew was sent out and again the crew went right into painting without proper prep work. I addressed these issues with Max and Tony, they came out to talk with the crew and reassured me they would do a better job. However, the same day the crew continued to prime and paint without scraping any of the old paint. I spoke with Max again explaining that the home was not being painted correctly. The crew was then replaced and a new one brought in. For the next three weeks, I had to oversee the work on a daily basis and show them the areas that were missed. It was an extremely stressful and frustrating process. I hired a company who sold the basic idea of a job that their employees would do (from my experience they have no skilled, trained employees, all day workers) and then fell horribly short with little to no oversight or standards. When I was told the home was finally finished I had to go around and use my own ladder to show Max all the spots that were missed again. Then before the issues were even addressed he asked me for payment in full. I stated that I would pay in full when the work was done. The next day when I was told they were finished. I noticed a few missed spots and asked that they be addressed, Max alluded that a mechanical lien waiver would need to be issued and was worried I wouldn't pay and that he had "prepared other remedies" if I was refusing to pay. Max continued in the other emails that they had "other options to resolve" basically threatening me even though I had stated many times I would pay once the job was complete. Finally, Max came out himself and did the final touch ups and the job was paid in full. The next week I got a notice of "Intent to file a lien" even though the mediocre job was paid for in full. In conclusion, if you are looking for painters I would steer clear of Blue Painting LLC. The disregard for the work and the lack of oversight from beginning to end will leave you with a truly overpriced, oversold, and insufficient paint job. read more

Short story: This is largely based on our experience with Andrew from Blue Painting. If you are set to work with him, I highly suggest requesting another rep or finding another company to work with. Jacquie was able to eventually take over after several issues with Andrew, and she was able to communicate as a professional adult expectedly does. The end product looks fine, just took several weeks longer and more work on our end than we hoped. Our quote was significantly less than other painting outfits in the area, which gave us pause... Can confirm, you get what you pay for. Longer detailed version: Andrew was initially very flexible and eager to book us with Blue and guaranteed a start date and even work on weekends to start in order to meet the crew (as we both work weekdays out of the house)... [Come to find out later that this rarely actually happens] Overall, the communication was laughably terrible, and essentially he made several guarantees of updates, start times, walk-throughs, etc. that he flaked on the night before we were set to start. I had to lay it out and explain that we were seeking more consistent communication, but it didn't seemed to be received. Two start dates were cancelled late after coordinating weekends, so finally Jacquie stepped in. When I first talked to her, she explained that weekend work rarely happens and that she had some questions about Andrew's work. I let her know about the communication issues. She also stated that he was taken off the project after that phone call, which we were glad for. However, unbeknownst to us he showed up with her at our next meeting that she wanted to be a "learning experience." (side note, three days after he had tested positive with COVID). He was apparently set to take back over and was supposed to call us with an update prior to our third start date. No surprise, that didn't happen either haha. Then Jacquie took over and things were much better. I'm not sure if Andrew is still employed there or not, but yikes lol. read more

BLUE Painting lied about lower cost financing being just weeks away. We chose them to paint our entire house based upon this good faith promise, and so we prepaid 50% down on a credit card with the understanding that it was a temporary payment until their new financing was in place. After about a month of accruing interest, and days away from the expected start date towards the end of painting season, the salesperson finally admitted that they never had financing and probably never would, or at least anything available for this project. So we were suddenly expected to pay the entire amount on a 25% interest credit card in order to proceed. I tried to cancel and was given the run around even after signing an unrealistic, all-encompassing, and quite possibly unconstitutional "hush" release form. Only after formally contesting the charge with my credit card company, and after the passing of yet another week, we finally received the refund of the deposit. I can't speak to their actual painting abilities, however any company that seems to show such callous disregard for their customers before doing any actual work doesn't seem to possess great integrity at a minimum. In any event, next summer we'll definitely be looking for another painting option. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I've worked in the business world for 40 years, I know a thing or two. Do not make promises you can't keep. Return phone calls. Answer an inquiry with more than a grunt. Be honest. And pay your sub contractors a decent wage! I paid half my total up front and gave one month' advances notice of dates I was available. Did they work with that? Nope. I was told MULTIPLE times that painters would be over to my house and no one showed. The first crew QUIT after day one because they were not being paid fairly. There was no follow up, no apologies, no professionalism. The painters themselves did a nice job. BLUE Painting staff was AWFUL (Tim the quality control guy tried and was decent) the rest were not. read more

We had our 100+ year old house repaired and remodeled on the exterior and hired Blue Painting to paint all of the new work. They were great to work with and Max was very helpful and knowledgeable. They had an easy to read quote that detailed out all of the work to be done. He listened and understood the challenges of our project with it being an old house and with lots of details. The workers were respectful of the property and all of the gardens around the house. We were really happy with the work they did and the house looks so much better. The crew did a great job cleaning up after each day. The last day, which was a Saturday, I felt was a little bit rushed and some areas were missed which made me concerned that we got the two coats of paint everywhere as the quote stated. But they were on top of it when we did the walk-through and completed everything on the spot. Overall we are happy with the results. read more

Our project was popcorn removal on the upper level of our split level home. We came across Blue after doing quite a bit of looking around, and are so happy we went with them! An outstanding company to work with! Our advisor was Max, he was great! He listened to us and knew what we wanted done as they also did some drywall repair along with our project. I emailed back asking for a few more bits of information. 2 weeks later still no response. Can't believe they are this bad at just setting up a quote. I would give these people zero stars if I could- I had informed them on two separate accounts that I would not be moving forward with their service and did not sign a contract. Several hours later, they still processed to my account. I've have to now file with the BBB and my bank informing them of this issue and setting up a new account. This has been the worst customer service I think we have ever dealt with. We selected Blue Painting out of 6 other quotes we got to have our front and rear deck stained and have regretted our decision ever since. We were visited by Andrew on 5/13 to confirm the color of stain. He said we will start the next week. 10 days went by with zero communication from Blue. I called in to ask for an update. I got a text on 5/24 saying, "sorry for the delay. My best crew just finished up a job and I will update you later today and a manager would be calling me". Zero contact after that day from anyone at Blue. I contact Blue on on Friday 5/27 and was told that a project manager would be calling me on Tuesday 5/31 with an update. That day came and went and had zero contact from Blue Painting. I called on Wed 6/1 and said if someone does not contact me by the end of the day I would fire them and ask for my deposit back. That got a response and on 6/1 they came to power wash the deck. However, they forgot to prep the front deck. Called Blue again on 6/2 and they came to prep that part of the job. Friday 6/3 work finally began on the job. (3 weeks after they told me initially they would start). Once they started they had issues with the product bubbling and tried to correct it. In another stroke of bad timing, the Cottowood trees decided to release their seeds so we now have hundreds of white fluffy seeds sticking to the wet deck and adhering themselves to the deck. They were unable to finish the job and said they would return Monday. Over the weekend we noticed that the two parts of the deck appeared to have a totally different finish. It rained that Sunday evening so I assumed they would not come out to finish but again ZERO communication from Blue. I had to call on Monday 6/6 to ask what is the plan and ask about why there appears to be two different finishes and send in pictures. Jeff called back that afternoon and he came out to look with the Sherwin rep. It was confirmed they put the stain on way too thick and now they have to redo two different areas. Jeff shook my hand and said I will get back to you on Tuesday 6/7 with a plan. Tuesday came and went and ZERO communication from Blue! I am writing this review on Wed 6/8 before the job is even finished because this is the worst customer experience I have ever had with a home improvement company. At no time has anyone at Blue painting kept their word on anything. I will not recommend Blue Painting to anyone. At no time has Blue taken the initiative to communicate with me and Blue has made no effort in correct their mistakes and satisfy their commitment to, "to provide every single customer with the highest quality paint job and the best customer experience possible." read more

The actual painting work is fairly good. Administratively they are a total disaster and bordering on dishonest. Blue Painting has completed 3 large interior jobs for us and each time, they have "helped themselves" to final payment from our checking account the day after the workers left. We have requested some follow up small touch ups and have been totally ignored despite conversations by text, email and phone. They have "Project Managers" and, as a Project Manager myself, I have no idea what they do or if they have any qualifications. I would not recommend Blue, I have read responses to other reviews and "we are a growing company" does not serve as an excuse forever! read more

We had our home interior painted by Vincente (sp?) and Alex from BLUE EXCELLENT PAINTERS. I've had terrible luck with painters in the past and I was worried about gtg things painted again. I went thru THUMBTACK to find a painters I could rely on to treat my home as we treat it. We interviewed 5 different painters b4 we settled on this company. We are so impressed with their professionalism, knowledge and expertise in the work they did for us. They were prompt in contacting us whenever I had a question and made sure I understood what they explaining to me. When I rcvd their estimate everything was broken down so I knew exactly what I was paying for. We ended paying less than some of the other bids and we couldn't be happier. I cant say enough what a great job they did. I would recommend them to anyone. In fact I have already talked to a cpl friends who plan on painting after the holidays. read more

I hired blue painting to paint the outside of my house and to patch some of the cracks in three ceilings of my 117 year old Victorian home. They started on the ceilings and used some sort of caulk and their fingers to fix the cracks, then sprayed the ceilings with paint which opened up old repaired cracks. The ones they repaired turned yellow and started to re-crack, they didn't even bother to sand so things were lumpy. I canceled the painting of the outside of my house because it took forever for them to even come back and look at what they did inside. The project manager Jake McKinnon never came and I had to go to the supervisor Lucas, who was helpful. It took weeks to get my money back for the outside and they have not reimbursed me anything for the crappy job on my ceilings. Tony Nordeen the main guy won't even call me... they expect ME to call him.... I am not the one who screwed up the job!!! read more

I cannot speak highly enough about these guys. They provided a quote and began staining my deck in about a week. I was not home the entire time that the deck was being worked on and upon return, it was not exactly as I had planned. This was 99.9% due to my lack of communication and rush to get out the door on a business trip. I called and expressed my concern with the final product and they came back and fixed it. No questions asked. Their painters are courteous and did not ask for anything out of the ordinary. They also respected that I have little ones that take naps and really never made any noise the entire time they were working. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a painter and will for sure be back with them for any future painting needs. read more

We had an unglamorous job of stripping paint off a mailbox stand at the home we recently purchased. I called three painters - two of which I'd worked with in the past, and Blue, because they'd marketed to our neighborhood. Of the three, Blue was the most responsive. They called within hours of our request for a bid. It was a small job, and by simply sharing texts of photos, they offered it would be billed at the minimum rate they offer - which we found to be quite reasonable. Blue and their people communicated beautifully through-out the process. They showed up when they said they would, worked hard and were very thoughtful and professional. Once the job was complete, we received a follow-up call to make certain were satisfied. Though I suspect the project turned out to be more challenging than originally thought, there was never a discussion of asking more than the fee originally bid. The only reason I'm ratimg them a 4, rather than a 5, is because we didn't have any true painting done (it was paint stripping) where we could comment on the quality of the painting work. However, given our good experience, we would certainly consider contacting Blue again. read more

Just wanted to share my experience with Blue. I had a last minute paint job recently that needed to be performed in 2 days. I received a call from Max and we agreed upon a price and date. Although there were some challenges with the time frame as to the look of the paint once it dried, they came back to complete the job to ensure it looked perfect. Everyone that I had contact with were very professional from Max to Tony. I plan and hope to call them when I need my exterior completed in the spring. These guys went above and beyond.
