I love Blue Ribbon! I stop by basically every time I'm in town. My go to is the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Sundae, but sometimes I switch it up - it's always good. Their seasonal stuff, like the peppermint stick brownie sundae, is delicious. They also have one of my favorite whipped creams - it's so fresh. The closest you might get to this is Lancaster or Philaldelphia. They specialize in hard ice cream and have 40+ flavors including seasonal items like pumpkin and egg nog. Everything is made in the back of the shop and is There are two ordering options, a long counter with stools and walk up area for take out, or to sit down and order from a server. I recommend the later for the authentic experience. The sundaes are to die for. Fresh toppings with a mountain of made in house whipped cream and a black cherry on top. Milkshakes are so thick you can barely drink them and the chocolate peanutbutter shake will rock your worlld. It does not get any better than this! Shout out to Blue Ribbon dairy. I called to see if they could open up a new tub of ice cream when we come since my grandson has peanut and tree nut allergies. They said they could and it would be no problem . But the owner called me back to make sure it wasn't an airborne problem and if it was suggested that we shouldn't even come or to get the soft serve. Another great spot for ice cream in NEPA! I love going to Blue Ribbon (not only because it is super close when I'm in town), but because of the outstanding creations like the One Hot Cookie or Cinnabon Sundaes! My favorite item to get here though is the Chocolate PB milkshake, or really any of their milkshakes. They are so thick and there is a ton of PB flavor. read more

I grew up from BR. Lived a few hundred yards from it on Bennett street. Was driving back last May 16 and saw that it was still there. I have not been to the area in 25 years. I had to stop a my wife loves milkshakes and I wanted to show her my favorite place for ice cream. We had a great time andI talked about the "good old days" at BR. We had milkshakes which were just as I remembered them, Great!!! We will be back in the area in Nov16 and it will be one of our stops. If you are anywhere in the area it is a must do. As an avid ice cream enthusiast, I often drove by Blue Ribbon Dairy and wondered about their ice cream. I went in with a few friends and was terribly disappointed. The waitress, I believe her name was Kiki, was very rude and I saw her mutter curses to herself throughout our entire meal. The chocolate chips on my sundae were also arranged to spell bitch. When I confronted her about it, she confessed to me that she didn't know how to read or write. The ice cream was warm and soupy and the water they served tasted like it was filtered through a coffee filter. Plus just as Tony Z.
