They have good ice cream. Portions are normal. Although service seems very understaffed and most workers look miserable like they don't want to work there?! I would recommend a better dairy (that you personally as owners have seen and know is clran) to provide your milk for ice cream. I've never had issues with lactose intolerance, however, after having a few bites of soft serve my stomach was about to riot. For several hours it just felt like a rock sitting in me. Every year we go to Maureen's for ice cream. It would be summer time without at a couple trip to get ice cream from them.

Obligatory place to get ice cream when we're visiting my Fiancée's family! Her family has been coming here several years.... I always get the large vanilla soft serve cone dipped in cherry. Fiancée decided to be basic and get a regular cone (so basic lol). Prices are fair and actually on the good side, and it's nice to check out the creek while enjoying the ice cream. However, I would wear a lot of insect repellent because in the summer months you'll get devoured by mosquitos... at least I did... I have been a customer at Maureen's for over 30 years and today was so disappointing . My 4 year old daughter encountered a debate between the miserable owner and myself regarding the bathroom. Her disposition was rotten from the beginning until I pointed out it wasn't about her and I seeing eye to eye but instead it was about the child's need. She then offered my daughter use of the bathroom all the while criticizing my parenting and tell me I wasn't being kind I was just amazed she didn't use foul language. If you have known someone that has or had a serious health problem, have been pregnant, have children, have had a small child in your care or just desperately needed to use the facilities yourself than I hope you would agree and empathize with my situation. If none of these situations apply to you than consider yourself fortunate to have never been in a dire circumstance. In my opinion, small business owners who serve food (dine in OR out) and provide bathrooms, even if it's just a porta-potty, truly care about their customers needs. This owner, who refused to give her name, explained to me that Maureen used to let her customers use the bathroom. WELL- God Bless Maureen! They should probably change the name of the business since Maureen obviously had an understanding for basic human needs and saw that a small gesture of kindness can do a world of good ‍ I've worked with the general public for twenty years and no, the customer isn't always right but if you'd like to maintain success you do the little things to make them happy before they leave your business. So, if you happen to be in the Wyoming Valley/Wilkes Barre, Pa area in the summer and are looking for a great little place for ice cream, this place is it. Located in West Nanticoke right along side a small creek, this place has has been a staple for many years. The soft serve ice cream is awesome, really creamy, and just sweet enough without being overly sweet. The portion sizes are huge, and a small can usually feed two. Great selection of ice cream, shakes and floats, and many more. Place can get very busy during the summer, but a nice place to grab some ice cream and sit on one of the benches overlooking the creek.
