I like this clinic! The place is modern and clean and both my dog and my cat were not scared/nervous going there for the first time at all. Staff had been polite and helpful and I found the costs to be really reasonable. The staff were also friendly and helpful in listening and answering any questions I had (especially since we were just establishing care for these a dog and a cat there). I cannot fully express my gratitude for Dr. Jordan Clark and the compassionate and tender care that we and our beloved Baylor received. We were visiting Pinetop with our 3 dogs. Our 14 year old guy was having issues prior to our arrival. After several tough days for him, I prayed that God would help us find an appointment with a local clinic since our vet was in Phoenix. Early in the morning I searched for the one opening the soonest and this was it. We walked in and within 30 minutes had a room. Dr. Clark and her team were SO very kind, so very understanding, so very patient as we grappled with that hard decision to let Baylor go. They brought Baylor a happy meal of all the treats that he was never allowed to have. He feasted on Reese's cups and beef jerky and cookies. It was so precious. They gave him a sedative and he relaxed while we stroked his soft fur. We all sat on the floor with him as he relaxed and laid in my lap. Dr. Clark said a prayer over him thanking God for the gift of dogs and for Baylor and his lifetime of loyalty and love. This clinic is an answer to prayer. The next time I have to put a dog down, I am coming to Blue Ridge Pet Clinic. If I lived closer they would definitely be our clinic of choice. read more

(We moved up 6 mon ago and didn't have a vet) The girl took a bunch of info about the situation. She was wanting to work us in the afternoon. She staffed it with a Dr who said no come right away. I was on my way within 20 min. As I was about to pull in she called and said we couldn't be seen, I had taken too long. Very disappointed in the unprofessional treatment. Dr. Ponder was wonderful!! He was incredibly knowledgeable, especially about Leptospirosis (we were in for the booster vaccine), and explained everything clearly. What really stood out was the extra time spent giving training tips for our rescue pup --that personal touch made such a difference. It's rare to find a veterinarian who is not only so skilled medically but also so thoughtful and supportive. We feel very fortunate to have found this clinic and highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent, compassionate care for their pets. We visited this clinic yesterday with one of our cats in distress. We have been to this clinic several times over the past ten years, always with satisfactory results. This time though we were IMPRESSED. Young Dr. Johnson, reasonably new to the clinic was very thorough, explained results well and seemed very caring. This morning we received a comprehensive recap by e mail explaining every step that was taken and why. Really appreciated this step. These folks used to be pretty good. Not sure what happened. We have a lot of dogs. Our 9 - 10 month old Labs contracted Parvo. We took the first one there. At the time we did mention that we had 8 other Labs that were all housed together, but none of them had showed any symptoms. We'll the first one received some meds and testing. After 4 days she was doing good. We spent 750 bucks. Now several of the others are showing symptoms. Called the office expecting them to work with us. All we wanted was the supplies to treat the other dogs. Ringers solution, IV kits and some anti nausea meds for the other 8.. Nope, nada, they wanted to see each dog,,Obviously they are more concerned about money, than the animals themselves. We were more than willing to buy the supplies at their exaggerated costs. They wouldn't even write us a script. Ringers requires a script, Lol it is salt water. IV sets do not. And the nausea meds are prescribed for dogs that get car sick. Vets should be willing to work with animal owners who have several pets. You shouldn't need to bring 8 dogs to the vet, when you know the illness and how to treat. As a lark, almost was going to bring all 8 sick, infected Labs to the office. The boys are over 70 lbs. That would of been a hoot! read more

The staff is all very welcoming and understanding with personal circumstance. They took great care of my pup, we returned for vaccinations and it was another smooth experience. We moved up here from the valley full time in Feb. 2023. We had the BEST Vet in Scottsdale for 42 years. So when we arrived with our 2 dogs we took them to Aspen Ridge as it was closer to home. After 1.5 years of crappy caring there, we moved to Blue Ridge Animal Hospital. Dr Burke has made the visits to the vet much more pleasant. Now Blue Ridge is further away for us, but definitely worth the time involved in driving there. If you want a vet who cares deeply about your dogs, then go to Blue Ridge. read more

Don't bother if you're not local. So rude and dismissive during an actual emergency. Made a point to tell me that it doesn't matter if my poor dog who was miserable was suffering right in front of them wasn't a local they wouldn't help us. I've never seen such disregard for an animal in my life. I also tried their emergency service number - called me back 5 hours later. I'm in the mountains many times a year and have three friends with homes nearby. Maybe a reminder to your front office staff that tourism pays the majority of that area and further an animal in need should be made a priority. I had to drive her back down the mountain and the vet told me if she had been seen a few hours earlier - that' would have been by you - she could have been saved. Inhumane. read more

The veterinarian and this clinic were all so kind to me when I showed up at their door when they opened (no appointment not a client). My dog was in distress and they immediately took him back to work on him and took care of me as I was emotionally distraught. We had to make the decision to end his life there a he would have continued to suffer. They were willing to do anything for him though....so much compassion that I haven't seen in a veterinary office in a long while. I am beyond grateful for this clinic. My family was in Alpine for the holiday weekend, and our dog drank Antifreeze. I called another open clinic and was told we would have to drive to Flagstaff or Queen Creek. It would've been too late to help our dog at that point. Blue Ridge Pet Clinic got our dog last minute and kept him until Sunday. They called us twice daily with an update and took great care of him. They saved his life. Since moving to AZ from WA, I have tried three vet clinics. The first two were the same, no thinking outside the box just using standard textbook "remedies" even when I explained we had already tried them. And anything "big" I was told had to be handled in the valley. Luckily when the second vet failed to call me back for an emergency I went to Blue Ridge and was SO happy to find a vet that actually considered alternatives to the old "feed your dog Science Diet" pat answer. Had an emergency while staying in Eager with our puppy at around 7:30 pm. Every clinic was closed. All phone messages said to take our pet to Mesa to be seen. Blue Ridge was the only clinic that allowed us to leave a message. We were desperate. Within 5 minutes a nice lady, Liz I think, returned our call and talked us through what to do. Turns out our puppy's blood sugar was low and we resolved the problem within 30 minutes. We are so grateful for her. If it had been more serious we could have brought our pup in before 10:00 pm or we could have scheduled an early 7:30 am appointment. Took my kitty in to get her vaccinations, we're from a small mountain town in California. What a truly friendly and animal loving staff, and they babied my 3.5 year old kitty, and even through her injections, they entertained my cat, in fact, so well, I don't think my kitty was aware of her injections. So, my kitty and I having been finished with our vet visit departed as if we had never been the the ever scary "Vet"! My kitty is scared of veterinarians normally, not this time. So, I've got a good kitty doc for my cat, who has a cat loving staff, who treated her as if she were family. I think we'll keep going to this clinic, they don't just SAY they love animals, they actually love animals! That's important to me, my kitty *IS* my family. We recently took Ace my wife's dog in because he was sick. One of the things we asked for was an expression. Because he was sick, they where not able to completely express his glans and we set up an appointment. The appointment to clear his glans was $70. Because we had recently been in to see the doctor, they included the rabies vaccine they couldn't do at the time because he was sick, and in inquiring, included the distemper at the same price. We took our beloved Pixel in a couple of weeks ago. She was a 16 year old cat. She'd been showing signs of weight loss and then she jumped from the staircase and had nerve damage. We the idea of our baby being in pain, the staff at Blue Ridge Pet Clinic took amazing care of us. From out first phone call to the ultimate decision, they went out of their way to comfort us at a very disturbing time. We had to make the decision to let her go and I just can't say enough about the professionalism, kindness and courtesy for what we were going through. They went over all options and did not force anything on us, which we appreciated. After all was done, they were so kind in helping us with all that needed to be done. Yesterday was the topping when in the mail we received a sympathy card signed by all with individual notes of condolences from the staff. Do not go here. We got our old dog euthanized here. Immediately we were guided to small room. Our poor dog slid on the tile all the way down the hall. Once in the room, the staff forgot to get all of their needed supplies. They then had to force my dog up so they could get out of the door to get more supplies. When they came back in they began shaving my dogs legs to find a vein. After they found one, they got half of the lethal injection in and screwed up what they were doing. So they had to switch to another vein. Now my dog was panicking. I asked following the death if I could have a memorial or print or something made. They advised they do not do anything of that nature. I paid $230+ for a "humane" procedure which was far from humane. RIP Butter I am sorry you had to go through that horrific death. read more

I'm a vet tech of 10 years. And unfortunately my parents brought my childhood dog here for medical help. Despite my advice to bring the pet down to the valley for ICU care, BOTH DVMs advised my dad this wasn't a big concern. My childhood pet died 2 days later due to BOTH doctors negligence. We are currently in the process of seeking out a medical malpractice lawsuit and reporting both doctors and the clinic to the Arizona state board. Not only did they handle this case negligently but after when I spoke to Dr. Burke about how their mishandling led to Bruce's death, she literally said "are you done" after I explained everything to her. Absolutely no sympathy or care. And not only that, but they are illegally changing medical documents in order to show that they have some kind of knowledge as to what was going on. We moved to the area recently and had every intention of taking our pets to a different veterinarian. That practice wanted us to create a "New Patient Appointment" for each of our animals. However, the soonest they could get them in was about a month out. When our German Shepherd came down with an ear problem, the other practice could not get her in, so we called Blue Ridge. Blue Ridge got her in the day we called. Everyone there was so nice. The tech took the time to explain the local area as it relates to potential problems from ticks since we came from an area with few ticks. It wasn't a sales pitch, but good info that we needed to make a decision. Dr Kyle Norman saw our German Shepherd and did a complete exam. She ended up being diagnosed with an ear infection and they sent us home with medication for that and for the constant scratching that our girl has been doing. To top it off, we were able to make a new puppy appointment for the day after we bring our next girl home instead of having to wait almost a week at the other place. Being new to the White Mountains, we had yet to establish the usual contacts, doctors, dentist, etc,etc,,, our elderly Shih-Tzu ran into a fence pole and appeared to have injure his jaw and tooth. We asked a couple of people and of course we had different opinions of were to take him. My wife called around and was met with no appointments available anywhere. She contacted Blue Ridge Pet Clinic and was told to call in the morning for a possible appointment. She called at 07:30am and by 2:30pm we were in the examination room. By 3:00pm Dr. Clark was looking him over telling us our options. So, to make this story short, we walked in on a Tuesday at 3:00pm, 48 hours later, we picked up our dog, a little groggy but healthy once again. Oh, the final shock was being charged about $400 LESS than quoted. Now all we have to do is find a doctor and dentist for us. read more

Our 15 year old cat reached the end of his life and we had to put him down to not prolong his suffering. This was an extremely difficult thing for myself and my family. We called Blue Ridge Pet Clinic and they got him in the same day. The staff let my entire family into the room with him and gently told us what would happen. They let us hold him the entire time and say goodbye. They even asked to pet him and give him love before he went. We received no judgment for all the tears. They made us a beautiful clay paw print to remember him. Today I received a beautiful card in the mail signed by all the staff and I am just blown away by the love and care from this clinic and the staff members. Our new puppy developed red spots on his belly - on the Saturday before 4th of July! Most local vets closed - or no appointments available until Wednesday. Called Blue Ridge and, although they had no appointments available, they suggested we text them a photo of his belly. We did, then called them back. They identified the spots as insect bites (they even knew the species of insect!) and prescribed Benadryl. No charge. Just an 'above and beyond' sense of caring the you won't find everywhere. (BTW, the Benadryl worked - no more spots!) read more

I brought my bunny here because she passed away giving birth they took their time trying to revive her and take her babies out. Sadly she and her three babies didn't make it the office was a mess with construction right in the middle of the office the dr never came and spoke with me. They wanted to charge me to take my bunny so I brought her home with the three babies and buried them. The place was unorganized and so was the staff. Someone should've lit a fire Under their butts and maybe they would of moved a lot faster then on top of the mortifying loss of our pet we were charged 125 just for walking in the door. Dr Burke has taken care of our baby twice now! She did surgery on her to remove a pretty large cyst! She is taking care of her again with a bad ear infection! She is kind and caring with our baby. We were visiting from the valley and our puppy had some digestive issues not feeling well all night. We called our vet back home and out of precaution they advised us to have him seen somwhere up here. The staff was amazing and really took the time to help! We just switched vets back home due to lack communication and help. We wish we could make blue ride our home vet as they were very knowledgeable and answered all our questions getting our pup in right away. Today around 1:00 I got home to find my puppy lossing his balance and acting funny. Within minutes he was stiff and unresponsive. I am here visiting family with my two dogs. I drive to the closest hospital which was Aspen. They refused my lifeless puppy and I. So we rushed to the next closest one which happened to be Blue Ridge and I am so glad we did. They had a vet with us immediately and were treating him right away. They did blood work and we ended up with the conclusion that he ate something he shouldn't have. So we decided to Charcoal him and give him fluids. When I walked out with him he threw up. They said it shouldn't happen but that it's not unlikely to happen given the circumstances. So I brought him back in and they still treated him with the best care. Now he is home and back to his crazy self. Thank you Dr. Kyle Norman and the staff that helped save my little Gizmo! read more

I called and told the tech that my dog was in Critical Condition and needed an appointment ASAP. I was told to call back in couple days to see if anything was available; that dates were "blocked out" and no appointments were available. What!!?? Imagine calling 911 and being told to call back? I couldn't​ believe it! I did call back and was told the same thing!!! I was a regular patient with pure bred dogs at this facility. The vet did Contact me to say they were short handed...But it was too late....My dog died several days later. I was told about a "shortage of vets on the mountain" but that didn't help my beloved pet's deteriorating condition. I just wanted critical care for my senior dog who lived a good loving life, and sadly had to die before his time. With lil to no competent help on the mountain I drove him to Tucson but there was nothing that could be done. We are beyond heartbroken over his loss...RIP dear sweet boy...Blue Ridge has very good vets, but it's a tragic shame that scheduling conflicts and personnel shortages impacted the quality of life of my poor boy in his last few days...And may have robbed him of a couple more good final years with the family. The cavalier attitude of the techs who answered the phone was very disheartening...I hope no one else has to go through what I did with a loving pet in critical condition and no immediate help available.... read more

Walking into Blue Ridge pet clinic as a non regular client with an "emergency" injured dog on a Friday evening at closing time and having them not only agree to stay to treat my dog, but not charge emergency fees goes a long way with me. I knew I was over a barrel and at the mercy of knowing that they could basically charge whatever they wanted, but I left feeling like my pets well being was priority one, not my bank account. They quickly treated my pets injury, explained everything in detail and provided clear and helpful follow up instructions and medicine for my dog. Happy to report that while sore, he is recovering well thanks to the swift and accurate attention that was given. A lesser place could have simply refused to help and gone home.
