When you hit the fork you take a left down the "one way". There is suppose to be a guy flagging or waving you on but on our visit he just sat there so we thought he was telling us to not go that way and we ended up taking a 3 mile detour through the park and and circling around. You can buy tickets at the main entrance booth once you go the right way or you can purchase online. The online pre purchase is recommended because evidently they can sell out. Pricing is pretty high. It is $35 a car load. I will say this. It's is very pretty and cool but extremely repetitive. You drive very slowly through a wooded trail for a mile or so. The woods is decorated with ginger bread house facades and other holiday type buildings. They have a lot of fake stained glass Christmas's decor of popular Christmas figures, movie/tv stars and cartoons. They have Christmas music playing in different sections throughout. At the very end they do have a cool Ferris wheel penguin decoration that leads you into a beautiful tunnel of lights you drive under. Which is the highlight of the visit. Overall I can say me and the kids finally experienced this. The workers here all kinda had a bad attitude and seemed lazy. Which I get it. It's cold and nobody likes working during the holidays. But if you are charging $35 a carload for Christmas fun then maybe act like you want to be there. As mentioned the decorations were very lovely and pretty. But we all was disappointed in how repetitive it was. They could of really broke it off in sections and each section having a different theme or decor style and it would be immensely better. I'm not sure we will come back unless major changes are made. I'm glad we finally did and seen this yearly attraction. However, if every year is exactly the same it just isn't worth seeing twice. There is all kinds of cool free light shows in Lousiville that offers more variety.

It's widely suggested to not go on a weekend if you want to get in quickly. Once inside, the drive takes about 30 minutes. They have new, creative shows every year that appeal to all ages. The kids especially loved the Disney sections, and there is a very nice tribute to local first responders and police officers. Highly recommended for a climate-controlled holiday outing, who doesn't love to have their windows down to listen to Christmas music in the winter and not be cold.

Fire! Here in Jeff, a man's dream of collecting the history…read moreof fire and all things that encompass it are awaiting your arrival. Now special attention has been given by the "Friends of New Albany Fire Museum," to make this place a permanent place for this great fire collection. Now as you walk around this place you'll see so much fire history. It's a man's dream collection and was saved intact. They actually restored a fire truck to its original condition that was recovered from the 1937 flood in the area. Come in and support your local community. For the story of the past is ours now and forever more.

Vick is a wonderful man and a fount of information from which one is lucky to learn. Looking around you are surrounded by just some truly fascinating historical pieces. It's great for all ages and will prove fun for all; I would highly recommend and happily return to ogle some more. Absolutely worth the relatively low entry fee.

Chickapoo Farm hosted a Saturday morning class with Barre3. Its ticket included "bring a friend"…read moreand a flower bouquet. We laid our yoga mats out and enjoyed a 45 minute class. The shade was initially around us and by the end of the class the sun shined on our last stretch. We were given large plastic cups with water and instructions for helping the cut flowers last longer. Each of us had clippers to clip flowers of our choice. Our final bouquets were gorgeous. The lady / owner with Chickapoo Farm was authentically welcoming to the crowd. Check in was easy, snacks were provided, and she walked through the flowers with us to answer questions or offer help. A small shed holds grab and go food, soaps, bouquets and other items. Patio furniture created a cozy gathering place. A portable restroom was available. I'll be watching for other people events and opportunities to visit the farm!

Art! It's the presence of life in society!…read more They definitely have some rare and one of a kind pieces of art here. We stopped by for an art show. What a great place to visit! The space the art gallery is housed is an amazing statement in itself. The decades of the past are presented here with new brush strokes to explore the world at large . Are you looking for a piece to inspire your space? You can purchase the are here too. In fact many artists that paint here draw their inspiration from the space. We were able to see the sacred work space on this day. What a wonderful treat . The value of some of these pieces are incredible? Some pieces of art on the smaller are under appreciated. The artists just have incredible talent. They offer so much . Painted with hope and heart for their silent voices to be seen.

Picture perfect!…read more Open is a Gallery/ Artist Commune/ Podcast/ Open Mic Night/ residential building. I have participated in a couple of the weekly Wednesday night Figure Drawing classes. The environment is ever changing with new art, ideas, and people just as I imagine a gallery would be. I really love the fact that the space caters to all types of artists with all skill levels. The artists that join us for the figure drawing are very welcoming and encouraging. The models can be full nude. The sessions are very tastefully done and professional focusing the time to be all about the learning experience. The cost to participate is extremely affordable. It is $10 for the 2 hours class and there is a tip jar for the wine and beer that is offered. Parking is limited so make sure to arrive a bit early for larger events. All events for the gallery are posted to their Facebook page which makes it easy to see if any of my other friends are showing up and who the model is going to be during the figure drawing class. My only complaint is that the space smells like an artist commune. I am not sure who delegates the chores, but the lived in bathroom and couches for guests need to be shown as much love as the local art. I look forward to heading back to a space where I can recharge and reconnect to my inner right brain sans desk job.

Louisville and the region offers a strong tradition of nontraditional and self taught art, and it's great to have a nice galley dedicated to elevating these artists. After the loss of Crafts gallery several years ago and KMAC's mission evolution away from a more strict focus on folk art, there was definitely room for this gallery to move in. I really look forward to following future shows here.

It's well worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood especially since it's close to the Portland Museum. Grab a lunch at The Table Cafe or the nearby Cup of Joy for a coffee and a pastry.
