Low standards, don't seem to care about clients. First impression were their mistakes with medical basics like payment records and emergency contact info. My 3rd inquiry got a reminder their office staff was only human. The few responses we got came from someone who didn't identify themself/selves. They showed a sustained and odd lack of proficiency. I did lots of research on different offices that provided these services looking for one that would accept insurance in Asheville and I rejected several options because I cannot afford to pay out of pocket. I called and talked to people at Blue Sky MD and was assured that the blood work and consultation would be covered under insurance, and I would only have to pay for the treatment if necessary. Two weeks after my lab and consultation, I was emailed a bill. When I called about it, the total had gone up, though they had not said anything to me when I went in for my appointmens. The front desk and phlebotomist were an absolute joy. Unfortunately, the good stops there. Bottom line up front: they're not here to help you solve a problem, they're there to sell you their programs, supplements, and HRT. Full stop. After my initial blood draw, I was scheduled for a follow up virtual appointment with a PA to discuss my results and any treatment plans if needed. Starting off with a bang, the PA showed up 14 minutes late to a 30 minute meeting. The first words out of her mouth after introducing herself reminded me of the Hair Club for Men commercial where she basically said, "Not only am I a PA here, I'm also a HRT client." Can't make this up. Things didn't get any better from there. She briefly discussed the blood markers for which they were testing and immediately zeroed in on a testosterone number that was a bit low. Now, per any readily available information source (Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, LabCorp, et al), blood samples should be taken in the morning - mine was mid afternoon - and if anything looks out of whack, follow up tests should be scheduled as any number of factors like stress levels, alcohol consumption/lifestyle, sleep, and diet could all have an effect on hormone levels. NONE of this was ever mentioned. Nor was there any mention of my medical history or inquiring of previous blood work - go to HRT, go straight to HRT, do not pass go. Of course, I got a second opinion who followed established medical industry protocol for HRT. All follow up tests saw all numbers WELL within normal range for my age. If you're an aging bodybuilder or athlete looking for a testosterone score, you've found your spot. Otherwise, avoid this place at all costs. read more

I went here for a totally non-weight related issue. They insisted on weighing me, even after I told them no. She told me they "had to" in order to bill my insurance, otherwise, they "couldn't" bill my insurance. Which is a total lie. There is absolutely no requirement that they have my weight in order to bill insurance. If I was getting medication, sure, they might need it in order to determine the correct dosage, perhaps. It is their policy. It is NOT the law. She just wanted it for my new patient "information chart." Not going back. Liars. read more

I started going to this place early Jan. Had labs ran and it revealed slightly elevated free testosterone. Having no previous testosterone therapy, they suggested and gave me testosterone pellets for $280 stating that "women usually feel good with levels at 150 or higher." I agreed to the pellets and had my levels drawn at the end of Jan. It was 242 which is extremely high for females, I don't care what they say. Suffering bad daily side effects and no way to remove or adjust the dosage, I will have wait it out. This place only gave me the pellets to make money with no medical justification in continuing to raise my levels when they were elevated naturally. I cannot understand all of the good reviews. read more

Place is OK. The only thing that bothered me was the doctor said the insurance takes care of a lot and they code it away that they will. They were wrong as soon as I stop going (because of Covid 19). I started getting bills. My insurance didn't pay anything. So be careful if you go. Be prepared to pay for everything you do their. read more
