I've been taking my cavapoo to Blue Pet Spa for 6 months and they have yet to groom him the way I have requested. Every time I pick him up, he looks like a hideous. They gladly try to fix him while I wait but I usually just give up and leave somewhat unhappy. On my last visit, the owner came out with him for the second time and told me i needed to communicate better and that's why his haircut is not done satisfactory. Then she said that he was severely overweight and that's why his cut can't be done like I wanted. BTW, he's not overweight. He weighs 10 lbs. Also, each time I pick up my pup, his inner ear is bleeding and they never take the blame. Hmm.... The front staff is super friendly, but the owner is very rude. Rude enough that I will not be going back. After talking to several friends of mine, they have had the same issues with this spa (rude owner, owner showing favoritism, injured pets, etc.) So, if you live in Madison do not use Blue Pet Spa. read more

Last time going Blue Sky Pet Spa. They overbook and overextend themselves so they end up rushing dogs through. They have over clipped my dog's nails on the last two visits to the point of bleeding. Our dog comes home and drinks an entire bowl of water. Are they not providing water there? They also don't follow directions given to them to clip our dog the way the breed should be clipped. Too many other groomers who pay closer attention to detail and treat dogs the way a customer should expect. Stay away. read more

My poodle had his first visit today & we are beyond pleased!!! He was the most happy & relaxed that we have EVER seen him post grooming. I never heard him cry for us once. He wasn't crying or having a fit when we came to pick him up, like he usually is. It was obvious that he had been loved & cared for while he was there. I does my heart good to know that I don't have to worry about my furbaby while he's there. The grooming is beautiful. He is happy. We are happy. Also, it was about $25 cheaper than we have been paying. Since I have grown up having poodles, I have been to more groomers than I care to count. This was a very loving, casual atmosphere. NOTHING like any groomer that I have EVER seen!!! I highly recommend them. read more

First of all, I have been very involved with the grooming and care of dogs for over 40 years. It takes a horrendous event for me to write a negative review about anyone or any business. I have never been so shocked and mortified when we went to pick up our two precious Shih-Tzus from Blue Sky.One of my baby girls feet were like butchered so badly between her pads,she could hardly walk,(see pic of her pads below after they damaged them horribly. also she was shaking her ears violently as if something was really irritating her. We couldn't even tell if she was a Shih-Tzu, her cut was so bad,she looked like a Pug. our second Shih-Tzu was shaking her ears too.But she at least looked like she wasn't tortured. now in the first place...2 days before , we explicitly made it known that no one would cut their feet or pads...I even wrote it on the registration form. this business should be closed. If I weren't so ill from my stroke I would take these heartless buggers to court. Tess is still having problems walking after ten days. we have spent alot of time at our Vets office, and my husband has missed alot of work,just to drive us there. I urge you to avoid this monstrous place.Blue Sky is by no means a loving caring place to bring your pet. read more

DONT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE. I only have it one star cause I had to in order to post a review.-I have behind the scenes insight and I know that they are friendly but the older women at the front are usually the only people you see. The younger girls in the back do most of the grooming. Even you people who have been going here for years and adore Janet, she doesn't always groom your babies. She picks and chooses according to her day. The young girls get very little credit and they schedule so many dogs a day that they have to rush the grooms in order to be done by 5 if they are lucky. Very bad for big dogs because they get very little time to walk around and are crated majority of the time. Only a select few dogs get to stay in the pens to hang out. The place is very small and feels like a conveyor belt for grooming. I know I wouldn't bring my dogs here and I think you should keep looking. read more

I don't know how this place gets such good reviews, as they have lousy customer service. I tried to get ahold of them for days and they Do Not answer their phone! What kind of place never answers their phone?? I finally got tired of trying to get ahold of them and took my business elsewhere. read more

We love this place! The people' are so caring and the facility is super clean. Janet grooms our rescue terrier and makes her look cuter every time. Our dog has stayed there for a week at a time on lots of occasions and is always cheerful about her stay. I would give it a five star review if there were an outdoor play area, but blue sky only boards small dogs so the indoor area is adequate. read more

No stars here if it were allowed...My Baby had been going to Blue Sky For over a year, she started there with her first cut. Six months ago I had a complaint about her cut, (it was very different from what she had been getting for over a year, all I wanted to know was WHO groomed her) when I called and talk to the owner (who supposedly was to always be her groomer) she had an attitude, almost like it was impossible for her to make a mistake and how I dare complain: I let it go and gave them another chance after all, we all make mistakes. Two months ago I took my little girl to get her groomed, I notice she was very frightened and whined when I gave her over the counter to them....This was new and odd behavior for her. When I returned to pick her up on the way home she kept licking her paw. When I got home I looked at her belly and there was a long baled spot down one side and the other side untouched (like something an amateur would do). I noticed the underside of her front right paw was a deep red maroon...understand she is very white, so all of her other paws were normal color, White except that one. Within the hour she kept licking the underside of that paw. My husband even mentioned "why does she keep licking her paw,does she have something in there?" so I further investigated. She had not even been outside yet since we came home from Blue Sky. So, He held her while I spread her paw out which, was soaked with saliva from her constant licking. Using a pen light I saw a clump of dried blood and a laceration...I could not believe Blue Sky didn't even let me know so I could continue to monitor and treat the wound. After soaking her paw to remove the clump of dried blood I cut see a significant laceration. I was angry and disappointed that someone could do this and than ignore it hoping I would not find out, REALLY! I took my girl to her vet and she confirmed it was very obvious that it was clippers that caused the laceration and gave me what I needed to treat the wound so it would not get infected. I talk to the owner, who denied knowing about it...Hmmmm with a laceration that size, I'm not buying it, Sorry! I know good and well she had to have reacted to the laceration (she's a 12 lb Coton); when I brush her if I barely pull a tangle or knot she yelps. Blue Sky was Great at first but has plummeted in the care for my little girl...She is like my child...I picked up on the all of a sudden change in her behavior toward them...RED FLAG! I'm an RN and have pretty good intuition. I was driving 23 miles to take her to Blue Sky, on top of their expensive price of $60 I always gave a generous tip of $15. I don't recommend these groomers at least not for my little girl, she is too precious to me. There is absolutely no excuse for the neglect! This could have gone very bad for my little girl had I not picked up on her cues. read more
