My experience with the grooming services at Pet Supplies Plus in Madison was disappointing and frustrating. During my dog's first grooming appointment, I was charged an amount that I later learned I was overcharged. When I raised the issue during a subsequent visit, I was initially told that no one knew what I was talking about. To the company's credit, the matter was eventually addressed, and I was provided with a gift card to compensate for the overcharge. However, what concerns me most is what happened afterward. I continued bringing my dogs to the groomer and completed multiple appointments without being informed of any problems or concerns. Then, when I called to schedule another appointment, I was suddenly told that the groomer was no longer "comfortable" servicing my dogs and that the grooming manager or owner would need to explain the situation. I was never informed of any issues during prior visits, nor was I given any opportunity to address concerns before being effectively turned away. The lack of communication, transparency, and professionalism left me confused and disappointed. However clearly I can find other services. I believe customers deserve clear communication, consistency, and honest explanations when service decisions are made. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Beware. read more

The groomers do a good job but I stopped taking my dog because she got ear mites three different times . They must not be sanitizing their kennels very well. I can't afford to have to take my dog to the vet for her ear mites every single time I take her to be groomed. I also had to take her to the vet because they didn't extract her gland very well and one of them got clogged up. however, I will still purchase Pet Supplies there because they're very friendly upfront. read more

I have a double coated dog who needs to be blow dried in order to dry and not smell like a wet rag and blow her loose hair out. I usually bring my dog here to do so, I just moved to this area and brought my dog in for a bath. Let me just say what a waste of a drive and 15$ for a bath. The water pressure was horrible, I should have just used bottled water to drizzle it and save my money. The main reason I'm so upset is the force dryer (which is what I come for) was so bad I literally asked someone working if it was broken. I could have blown on her with my mouth and dried her faster than using that thing. Let me add I have a 50lb dog. I am beyond upset. I usually take my goldendoodle here for a bath. It was time for his first cut so naturally I bring him here, along with the fact that I saw another doodle who's cut was done here and it was adorable. I was specific about what I wanted and how I wanted. Must have repeated several times and reiterated I do not like the poodle look and wanted a teddy bear cut for the face. Well I picked up my dog and the cut was just awful. He looked like a 2 year old played salon for the day. His face looks like an old man's. The cut is sooooo choppy it's ridiculous that this was supposed to be done by a professional, at least the charges reflect this, but not the results. Only good thing is the hair will grow back, but it will take a long time. Horrible Horrible! read more

I really hate to leave a negative review about a business, however we're very upset how the grooming staff and management have handled our complaint concerning our dog's last grooming appointment. (Chris & Bree) We noticed our dog's skin was cut between his eyes. My husband picked him up from the groomers but they did not let us know of this accident. When we called the next day we were responded to very rudely from the grooming staff. They had no remorse for cutting his skin. Just think about going to get a haircut and the stylist cuts your skin accidentally, they're probably going to be very apologetic and discount your cut. Because they're dealing with animals, and they cannot speak up for themselves- they just don't acknowledge what happened. I understand how pet grooming can be challenging, but it seems like they have inexperienced and non-compassionate people working there. We've been taking our dog here for months and the last grooming appointment we were told they had to spend 45 additional minutes "brushing" him. I was blown away at that amount of time, but I didn't argue- we paid it. They charged a $1 per minute additional. So, why is it they have no problem notifying me for that, but not when they make a mistake and try to make it right. They tried arguing with us the cut was a rash! We've decided to not come here anymore, I really hope they spend more time training staff to treat the animals better. It's not acceptable for them to not hold themselves accountable for mistakes they make. Also, I arrived when they were still grooming him and witnessed the groomers aggressively brushing his ears. I sincerely hope they staff at Pet Supplies realize their mistakes going forward and make them right. read more

Not impressed at all. Our dog has been having stomach issues. We were told that they guarantee their food and they will take it back if it doesn't agree with the dog. A week later, we went in with the receipt and were greeted at he door by Mr. Ray. He gave us the 9th degree about who told us this and that it only applies to small bags. He was grilling us about what the employee looked like and insisting he won't take it back unless he knows who said it so he can "discipline them because someone is going to pay for this bag of food". My husband and I were so mortified we walked out with the bag of food and said we would just donate it to a local shelter. He needs to learn how to run a business. This is a completely unacceptable way to treat patrons or employees. read more

With several pet store options in town and online, our first choice is always Pet Supplies Plus. I was thrilled when it opened up based on the convenient location. They have a "Chick-fil-a" kind of service: friendly staff with "It's my pleasure" to help as soon as you enter the door. The grooming staff are talented and so sweet with my dog. I like that I don't have to leave my pup all day somewhere, they call as soon as he is done. They do get busy so don't plan the groomers have immediate openings but that shows that they are good at what they do with repeat customers. We like supporting local owned establishments; it is nice to walk in and see the owner, his family, and a dedicated staff each time you visit. It's a much kinder environment than you will get at other stores. Definitely recommend! read more

I stopped coming here awhile ago when the cashier lady called the cops on me because I cursed at my dog to sit and be still he's big and has a thing for little dogs. He was being a bully to a small dog that was there so I was trying to command him to stop. And I'm not a soft spoken person. a the moment I was paying for my dogs bath and I told the lady excuse me. Mind you I'm with his other brother. By the time I finish one dog. Here comes the police. And I automatically knew it was me. I was so upset and offended that that women felt like she had to call the cops because I was trying to restrain my dog. The cops wanted I.d i told them what happened and why they where called and it was over. It could of went another way because I was upset that they now want to know if I'm a danger and want to see I.d I was upset because of that and because I do have ptsd because of cops. Before this I was there regularly to give the dogs baths. Now I don't even want to go there. I'm sure that that women doesn't work there no more because of this. And I live in the neighborhood it was a very upsetting experience but I kept my cool. I have nothing to hide or am I a Wanted criminal. But that day that person made me fell like a wanted criminal. It also reminded me how stupid people like this one can inadvertently get other people killed by the police officers. Or hurt. Like for instance if I didn't want to give the cops no I.D or explain myself. Then what? Or I get visibly upset. What will happen then.? I don't want to know. As I don't trust no cop these days. Yea they can put up a smile and make believe. You never know with the police especially in Madison. But these two cops where cool and young. They weren't white. But they might as well be. What a great store!! Convenient location and a great selection of product at an affordable price. ONLY issue is with their staff. I was wearing a Noter Dame sweatshirt. The lady operating the register and I had what seemed to be at the start a friendly banter between Alabama and Noter Dame. Friendly until she told me that she "had attended Alabama" and essentially "anyone who didn't go to Alabama was a nobody." The fact that I don't have to drive to the other side of town to get food is great, and the employees have always been very pleasant and helpful. Store collects donations that are supposed to go to dogs in shelters. They ask all customers checking out to make a donation by buying items from their store to donate. Owners and managers remove items from the donation bin to take home for their own pets. Not only are they making a profit off the donations that customers purchase, they are stealing some of the items that customers believe are being donated.
