I love going to Blue Zoo, and when I saw they were doing an adults only night for Valentine's Day, I was quick to buy tickets and figure out my plus one later. My favorite thing to do is feed the parakeets, and I was excited to see how many flocked to us to eat their food. The stingrays are always one of my favorites to feed, and we had fun looking for Tortilla (the sting ray with stinger). The staff is very knowledgeable and were excited to talk about the animals with us. While it's a great place for children, it's still fun for adults too! read more

In Vegas we had a business called sea quest which this is very similar to but I like the fact that they had a splash pad and a play area for the kids I thought that was very cool. I just wish we could have got to experience the birds before the bad apples spoiled it for everyone else. read more

Took my girlfriend here for a little date and we had an awesome time. It's a pretty small place but there is plenty of different animals and fish to look at. We took our time and did everything possible and probably spent about little over an hour here. I would definitely recommend coming here if you like sea creatures or birds. read more

When I came here, I was pretty disappointed. This reminds me of another aquarium that I've gone to, but this one was just poor repair. The one thing that I really didn't like was the lack of consistency and people completing waivers. The staff seem very lax and laid-back. I don't know about you, but if I worked here, I would want to make sure my employees had every guest sign a waiver, whether they done it or not before recently or long time ago. The other thing, this place, kind of stunk. I felt like a lot of enclosures and Animal habitat exhibits should've been a little bit more well kept. I don't know if it's just because it's in Louisiana and there's a lot of moisture and humidity things like that but it just didn't really feel good to me. The other thing too, the price is for admission. I threw the roof for what this place really is. I do not wish to come back and actually I'm really disappointed that we stopped by in the first place. What a waste of time and money. Yeah that was kind of disturbing was it I didn't feel like they were very many staff available to ask questions of or ask questions about the animals. Sent me an email with link to buy adult ticket get child ticket free tried to use link and kept getting that I needed a code but there was no code and wouldn't let me check out. Got too zoo and was told that was online only and they couldn't help me had to pay full price 2. was told bird room was closed which is main attraction 3. Website showed Pirate show at 2 pm waited but there was no show. Asked about issue and was told there would be a combined mermaid/pirate show at 3 pm so had to wait. 4. Previous Pirate shows had sword fighting and interactive. this show was just lining up to take photos with mermaid no actual show. 5. Pretty small for the price. Probably took 20 minutes to walk all the way through. I'd say 20-30 fish tanks, stingray petting pool was cool, but still small. Nice interactive play area at the end but this is way down on the totem pole for aquariums. They had a live mermaid show which my kid liked and redeemed the trip. Blue Zoo is a great addition to Baton Rouge! We had a lot of fun visiting with our 18 month old and he had a blast. The touch pools were great: stingrays, urchins, sponges, hermit crabs, fish, and more! They also let you pet lizards, birds, a tortoise, and other animals. Plenty of colorful fish and even some sharks are there for viewing. The interactive play area was a lot of fun as well, especially for little ones. My biggest piece of advice is to GET THERE EARLY. It fills up fast and the line gets VERY long to get inside. Arrive 15 min before opening if you can. It took us just over 1 hour to do the whole thing, and we weren't going too fast. I don't know how anyone could spend over 1.5-2hrs here, but maybe? I'm sure we will be back to visit our new aquatic friends soon! read more

I was looking at random places on the internet like you do and found this place. For essentially $20 per adult, there is about an hours' worth of fun here. I did enjoy watching the kids though. I liked the bird room the best. This is located on the first floor of the Mall of Louisiana between the two entrances of Dillard's. The employees are friendly. All of the animals seemed to be well cared for. There are signs all around advertising birthday parties, baby showers, engagement parties. Also there are mermaid shows, and feeding times for the fish. read more

A zoo in a mall?! This place is small, but hella fun! You can feed and pet a variety of sting rays, birds, fish, turtles etc ! They have skin cleaning fish - garra rufa is their technical name - who tickle you when they clean your skin. The turtles are adorable and will swim to you for you to feed them. The parakeets will climb all over you when you feed them millet. While I know people will complain about the size of the place, I came to the point where it didn't matter, simply because I was having a blast with so many types of animals! This place is great. It's located in the mall, next to Dillards. I was apprehensive at first because it looks small. Don't let that fool you. It's a pretty good size and has some great exhibits. It's very hands on with lots of opportunities to touch and feed animals. It can get a bit pricey if you get into feeding the animals. Very conveniently located in the Mall of Louisiana. Price was a little high in my opinion, for what they offered. Very clean and ample staff to guide you through. The highlights were the bird sanctuary and the skin nipping fish. There were many iPads, with information on each exhibit, out of service. So many questions could not be answered. The tokens, used for purchasing food for feeding the fish and birds, were almost prohibitively expensive for the amount you received. there were so many amazing animals. they had a bunch of different reptiles birds and more. You also can leave if you have a meeting and come back before they close that day. My friend and I went here at the spur of the moment. We each got tokens to feed the animals. We had fun. The staff was really nice and helpful. Devin and Kyler were helpful with the stingray portion. Pros: - You can pet and feed the reptiles except the snake. - The stingray, birds and garra fish (fish that eat dead skin) were the best parts of the aquarium. We went late so we didn't get to feed the turles (he was full. - Staff was nice and made the experience easier when it came to feeding. Cons: - Honestly, the fish were boring because they were just small and looked like the fish they have at the pet store. - This isn't really a con but the venue isn't that big it could easily take you less than 30mins to get through the entire thing depending on if you're feeding the animals. - most of the insects and reptiles were not very visible (not the company fault). Less than an aquarium, less than a zoo, way pricier than a play date. This place is overhyped to the extreme. It's one of the smallest aquariums you'll ever go to, with roughly four rooms of generally sub-par attractions. Many of them were empty, though none seemed to be in the process of improvement. They have the now standard stingray petting pool and you can feed them, as well as a couple other species, including koi. The starfish petting mini tidal pool boasted a pair of starfish about the size of your thumb. Staff were friendly enough, but for $20 a person, I expected a bit more. There is a play area at the end and our son spent the majority of his time there. Even moving at the slowest pace, you'll finish in 30 minutes without play time so plan your day accordingly. read more

This new aquarium is very cute. Not very large but is very cute and hands on. Really great for young children to interact with a water table and games. Hands on encounters with the stingrays was amazing! You can feed them for a few extra dollars. Most of the staff were very friendly. One guy was rude and told me no feeing for the rays after I bought a "coin" to use but after watching for a while another staff was feeding them, so I asked him and he helped me as needed. I really enjoyed the encounter. So not sure why he said I couldn't then the other employee was helpful. The bird encounter was fun as well and that is included in admission. Since it's new, the birds were a bit shy but I still was able to touch and hold a few. The same rude employee was now there and was rude again so not sure what's his deal. This is an interesting place to visit in the Mall of Louisiana. The staff is polite. One of the guys explained what animals were in the exhibits. I enjoyed seeing the baby turtle.
